I can't wait for 25 August. Not becouse the game but becouse there's a real possibility that Galliani will negotitiate with Barcelona during our stay in Spain.

You're not the only one I'm sure.

We couldn't even get past a mediocre Juve, I don't see how we can hold off Barca.

If Nesta and Pato recovers from injuries, we can easily beat Barcelona.

Well the problem is that after three days we will play against Lecce in Serie A and I want our players to be in good shape and in 100 % condition for that game.

I agree winning our first Serie A match is more important then a stupid friendly, I'd rather we let the kids and the second string team get to play then lose a crucial player for Serie A or have half the team not fit for the start of the season

Exactly. I'm quite surprised to learn that a friendly against a high profile club has been scheduled so close to the opener.

Oh, nononono. Not at all.

Sorry for the misunderstanding -- I meant to say that I'd be okay with Busquets playing for Milan in general.

For us to give up Thiago Silva and Pato? hm. Dani Alves or Pique + Xavi or Pedro.

You know what would be nice; If dinho played the first half with us and then played the second half in a barca jersey.

That would be historic (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif)

I donno, one of my good friends who is a barca fan says that this game is mostly played by the kids and perhaps one or two first teamers. It has been for the last 10 years.

But who knows..Ibra might start. He says he won't. He says it'll be messi, valdes, maybe pique/puyol and the kids.

I just hope we play our kids so we can have an excuse after getting our @ss whipped.

You know, I was kind of thinking something along these lines...except it would be Ibra taking off Barca's jersey only to reveal Milan's, right before the start. Kind of like a heel turn in pro wrestling.

Hehehe, i might have to wear a blindfold for this game as '94 was a demolition job and i enjoyed it immensely!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I think i still have it on VHS some where, find it hard to pick favourite goal, but Savicevic's was a sublime finish.

Savicevic's was awesome but I think I enjoyed Desailly's the most because of that wonderful little motivational speech that Johan Crujiff made before the match. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Allegri still didn't show his list of called up players but I'd go with this :

Abbiati
Bonera (Abate) - Sokratis (Yepes) - Onyewu - Antonini (Jankulovski)
Gattuso - Seedorf (Strasser) - Boateng
Ronaldinho (Merkel)
Huntelaar - Beretta

It's a friendly so I think we can use 5-7, I'm not sure about the rules of this Trophy.

And I agree with you, no key player should play more than 45 minutes. I'm sorry for Barcelona fans but I hope Ronaldinho will be substituted immediately in the secon half.

Most international friendlies allow 12 subs on the bench. This one is no different.

BARCELLONA: I CONVOCATI
24/08/2010
MILANO - Questi i 21 convocati di Massimiliano Allegri per l'amichevole contro il Barcellona:

Amelia, Roma
Antonini, Bonera, Jankulovski, Nesta, Papastathopoulos, Thiago Silva, Yepes
Abate, Ambrosini, Boateng (n.27), Merkel, Pirlo, Seedorf, Strasser
Borriello, Huntelaar, Inzaghi, Oduamadi, Ronaldinho.

No Zambrotta (bit surprised since he's a barca alum), Pato (who according ot training will for sure be ready for the weekend league game), Gattuso, Oddo, Kaladze or Abbiati.

Bit surprised to see Janku called up.

He effed his knee up on the sloping ground at the Emirates. He stepped on it awkwardly and twisted his knee on it.

Verdi should have been back by now.
----

I'd go like this :

Amelia
Bonera - Sokratis - Silva - Antonini
Boateng - Pirlo - Ambrosini
Odu - Hunter - Dinho

(Silva , Antonini, Pirlo, Ambrosini and Dinho must not play more than 50 minutes)

I really think Allegri shouldn't start Nesta and/or Pirlo. They are our key players and even Lecce is not very good, we still can't risk 3 point for some friendly. I don't care if we get humiliated by a 6-0.

ALLEGRI INTERVIEW AT MALPENSA

QUOTE
With great realism, Mr. Allegri, interviewed this morning at the Malpensa airport, has focused on the three points in the game on Sunday night. Without distraction, the Barcelona match is also part of the preparation.

MILAN - Shortly before take-off for Catalonia, and Massimiliano Allegri said: "For us, beyond the prestige of the event, tonight's game is important, it serves as training for the game on Sunday evening against Lecce which is what counts most. The team was on track against Juventus Sunday night we did well, we created a lot and have given little away. Kaladze? It seems to me that Jankulovski was called up today... anyway I only make technical choices and the players know it. "

Allegri continued: "I challenge any coach to refuse to train Ibrahimovic as he is a star, but we are working with the lads who are there, who will start or who we will look at between now and August 31st. Even without the arrival of Ibrahimovic, Milan has to be a protagonist and feel it. If Ibrahimovic arrives, it strengthens an area which is already strong."

Other topics in closing: "Pato is a lot better and I think he will be available on Sunday. Ronaldinho? In Barcelona he did well, he lived through the most important season of his career, but today he is 30 years old, physically he can do better, we expect a lot from him and he knows it."

I don't think Allegri would do that, if that's the case I'm going to start questioning the chnge of coach all over again.

I do however think that Ronnie will drift behind them. Just like he did against Juve

@ Tennie, I think Pirlo and Seedorf will be switched at some point in the second half. Hopefulle early in the second half as I don't want to see Pirlo getting overy tired for this one, we need him for the start of the season
