5-1 seems way too generous. With Slowdork in the starting lineup, we'll be lucky to get five shots on goal.

Lecce are not that strong so its definetly an option. I think with kaka fit by then we'll be able to start playing good football.

Yes he should be fit by then. Unless our medical staff trip, and stab him with a needle or something.

I was actually worried about him picking up an injury while on NT duty.

I hope Dunga plays Ronaldinho instead of Kaka' , so he can have more time to get ready for Lecce

Dont be so sure about thrashing Lecce. They just changed their manager (lamentably Beretta left) and so they may be more invigorated than they previously were

Heh.

I'm not counting out a grind-out draw. Lest we forget, Lecce is a Small Teamâ„¢ we're playing, and they've given us fits aplenty in the past.

Haha, thanks! Feels great to be back. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) I see our man has got another lifeline after Abbiati's injury. Just heard it yesterday from my brother that Dida's starting in the XI in Serie A matches! In fact, I've been very much out of touch with football - missed the CL matches this month too. As for Dida, I may be wrong but I reckon he's been undefeated up till now (bar the Coppa Italia PK shootout). Won quite a bunch of matches, both in the league and UEFA Cup, drawn a few, but overall a much improved performance than the ghosts of last season.

Fingers crossed for a good showing next month! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/devil.gif) Forza Dida! Forza Milan!

Unfortunately, there wasn't a PK shootout in the Coppa Italia; we stuffed up in extra time and lost 2-1. The only positive was that he was the man of the match, performing oodles of saves.

You also missed the, er, save of the week v. Napoli. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Aha. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) Unless I'm severely mistaken there was a penalty shootout with Dida in between the posts this season, right? Maybe not in Coppa Italia, but in some other tournament/match. Correct me if I'm wrong. This 2008-09 season has been one to forget - pity I forget it so soon! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Bah!

I missed a whole lot of things. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Paolo is at the twilight of his career, and I missed more than one match with him playing in the starting XI. I deserved to be crucified. LOL. Thanks for the video link, watching now.

I do need my Dida fix, you know. But mostly it's because the forums are comatose during international breaks. No pirates, fishdolls or anything.

In an interview with Telelombardia, Brazil's doctor Josè Luiz Runco declared that Kakà is no longer injured and is ready to play again.

QUOTE
Kaka – 8: Showed just why Brazil missed his influenced so much in Ecuador. Not only did he bring an energetic creative spark in midfield, but his ability to open up spaces allowed his team-mates to excel. Won the penalty for the opening goal and had a hand in the third goal when he acted as a decoy for Felipe Melo.

Take ratings from goal.com with a pinch of salt. They did after all give Cannavaro a higher mark than Chiellini and scorned Birghi who did nothing wrong really

That lineup seems most likely, although I'd prefer to see Flamini get a start.

In the interest of accuracy, take away one point from each of Goal.com's player ratings every time.

Stefano Farina will referee the game.

And it looks like Lecce will be without their striker, Tiribocci. He left training yesterday after injuring his knee.

Standard training today with warmups, exercises (lots of guys went on a run through the woods) and practice game. Only really notable thing is that the Brazilians who'd been called up for their NT didn't train because the return flight they were on was delayed. They're in Milan but the delay was long enough that it didn't make sense for them to train.

At least they were on the plane. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Unlike a certain striker for the cugini, who missed the flight entirely and who will probably get a massive fine.

So a rather long prematch press conference today.

Here are the highlights relevant to players and who's likely to play against Lecce:
* Kaka has recoved completely.
* Those who weren't called up are fresher than those who weren't (?)
* Inzaghi is doing well and will play. After the last training, Ancelotti will decide how many forwards to field.
* Bonera's dealing with a groin injury but is close to a return and should be available against Chievo.
* Flamini is now showing why he was brought to Milan. It took him time to adapt but he's doing well and is a good alternative to Gattuso, Ambro and Pirlo.
* Borriello will remain at Milan and he is recuperating well.
* Emerson had a foot problem and may be available.
* Nesta is working on recuperation and we hope to have him available next season.
* Nice words about Pirlo.
* Ancelotti can't understand why Pato doesn't play more for Brazil.
* As regards Ronaldinho's condition, Ancelotti says that Dunga's never called to ask how he's doing as Lippi has with the various Italians.

So i'm guessing its going to be:

(4-3-2-1) Dida-Zambrotta-Maldini-Senderos-Favalli-Beckham-Pirlo-Ambrosini-Kaka-Seedorf-Pato

If its that,

Then 1-0 Milan. If flamini and inzaghi are put in there instead. I"m going to say 5-1 milan.

Carlo doesn't really play Favalli at LB anymore...

anyways, Gazzetta predicts this lineup:

Dida, Zambrotta, Maldini, Favalli, Jankulovski, Flamini, Pirlo, Seedorf, Kaka, Pato, Inzaghi

as long as we see 4-3-1-2 and Flamini starts I'll be happy (provided we win too (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) )

With Sandro's absence, there's definitely been a gaping hole in this team that a thousand Patos couldn't replace.

Very very true...We must have a good offense but also a good defense...Defense wins games even in Basketball...I remember those days that we scored 1-0 and it will take the other team hell before they scored or didn't even score...Hopefully by next season, that gap would be completely filled

Well, with only nine matches to go and Nesta nowhere near complete game shape, Carlo's statement makes plenty of sense to me.

I know... I've been hearing similar things about Nesta from Carlo since the start of the season. it's probably the tenth time that Carlo appoints a date (I know it's not his job, but he is the one who holds the press conferences and tells anything about the players' conditions) for Nesta's comeback, and when we reach that date, a new date is appointed. Nesta should've come back on the pitch 7 or 8 times by now.

Is Pato a defender? or Nesta an attacker? what on earth has Pato got to do with Nesta's absence? is he supposed to fill Nesta's empty place?

God...

If its that,

Then 1-0 Milan. If flamini and inzaghi are put in there instead. I"m going to say 5-1 milan.

No Seedorf in the trequartista role PLEASE for the love of god!!!

My choice would be

(4-3-2-1) Dida-Zambrotta-Maldini-Senderos-Favalli-Beckham-Pirlo-Flamini-Kaka-Ronaldinho-Pato

Becks and Seedorf to share the 90 minutes, Flamini is atm in far better form then Ambro has been in the past year and a half, so without question should be the one to start, and Ronnie should get the start instead of Seedorf next to Kaka since he is far better in that position then Seedorf will ever be.

But seeing as Carlo said that Pippo will most likely play I'm thinking he'll go for 4-3-1-2

Dida-Zambrotta-Maldini-Senderos-Favalli-Beckham-Pirlo-Flamini-Kaka-Inzaghi-Pato

This is mighty boring. Lecce haven't had a lot of opportunities when they're not parking the bus in front of our goal.

C'mon, FSC, at least give me a close-up of Dida just to make this worthwhile.
