We're sorry for Maldini that he will miss his game, whereas Dida has a problem to his knee which can be solved in 2-3 days. Milan aims to express its best qualities - ANCELOTTI'S PRESS CONFERENCE

(IMG:http://media2.acmilan.com/200510/2601_news.jpg)

MILANELLO - These are the words of Carlo Ancelotti on the eve of Udinese-Milan of tomorrow: "The news is that Paolo Maldini has the flu and he will miss the event of the 23 years. He must wait next year  (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)   (joked our coach). Dida had a problem to his right knee during training, a sprain, a problem which will be solved between two to three days. He wanted to cme but we opted to avoid risks. We shall undertake him to a check-up with Professor Martens. Tomorrow? Udinese is a direct rival for the fourth place, it's a difficult game because we play against a quick and very dynamic team. We are fine, in good condition to play a great game. Udinese have their main qualities in the offensive department and will try to take advantage of the speed of its attackers. We shall not have Pirlo and this limits us a bit in the building of the game from behind, even though we put in more weight. Let's hope to do well. Gilardino? He is fine and is ready to play. Referee Farina? I don't think about this, if the designator called him for this game, I think he chose for the best."

The Milan coach continued: "The problems of the rotation in midfield will come up again and they must be solved. In the lowest position in midfield, that of Pirlo, there will be Ambrosini. Jankulovski? I think that he can be ready for next Sunday, not for Wednesday. Serginho had a blocked back and did not train, whereas Cafu has a problem with his tendon. Favalli will play on the left hand side at Udine and the set-up will remain unaltered. I thought about the formation of Udine and I thought that this team has the quality which must be proposed, not limited. We must be more balanced, but the remedy to this problem can be found calmly by the players who go on the pitch tomorrow. Everyone must be careful not to be caught too much on the offensive side, even the defenders and the midfielders, it's not just a problem of Ronaldo. He, Ronie, started to train on Thursday because he seemed tired and I did not let him train before. His haircut? Sublime." (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)   (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

The other topics faced by Carlo Ancelotti: "Coppa Italia? I said the trut. It wasn't just us to make the coppa Ialia less important. It was also the calendar which put us this competition three days following the return from Tokyo. Pato? We thought in these days to give more balance to the team and I asked him, just like I asked the other attackers, to go back quicker, whereas in attack he already has a good vision of what he must do. Yesterday Maldini did not reprimand anyone, he only re-stated the concepts which are clear to everyone. Team strengthening? Next year many players will quit and the defensive department is that which we must be most careful about, whereas in midfield there's less emergency. Benezma? I like him, great attacker, but I wouldn't change him neither with Pato nor Gilardino. Next year there will also Darmian in our squad, we shall have to put four youth players in the Milan squad for the Champions League."

I decided to post this here cause of the last part where he touches a very important matter.

This is good news. I agree with Carlo there is no emergency in mid-field, but if we don't start looking at the youth ranks quickly, we'll be in trouble 5 years down the line.

why not he would'nt be a replacemnt if he came from another team , after all Maldini only played for one team (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

I think it's too early to make 17yo Darmian Maldini's replacement. we should go for a proven and world class CB, there is no time to experiment with unproven and untested [in real BIG matches] teenage defenders.

Corriere dello Sport (...) claims that Maldini has urged Milan to buy Real's Ramos. This transfer will never happen in my view (even if we included Kaka which we would never do) but I don't believe in whatever this newspaper publish anyway...

I think a world-class CB is going to be brought in Milan this coming summer. Darmian has nothing to do with it but I hope he becomes God's long-term successor!

dude come on... i this some sort of joke? comparing darmian to maldini (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

obviously theres no way to fully replace maldini but we could start by bringing in a world class CB which is a must since kaladze is a joke. darmian can complete if he wants but we would beyond foolish to even think of just bringing him in for CB.
