According to Italian sports daily Tuttosport, Milan are set to offer Chelsea 30 million Euros for the services of Didier Drogba.

With the never-ending problems concerning Ronaldo continuing, the Rossoneri are looking around in the market to find a striker of the highest level in order to have a deadly attack line for next season.

With Pato being hailed as the new best striker in the world by president Silvio Berlusconi and coach Carlo Ancelotti, Milan now want a partner for him and Kaka.

According to the latest speculation coming from Italy, the world club champions are preparing a bid of 30m for the services of Drogba, who has often been linked to a move to Milan in the past seasons.

The fact that the striker wants to play in the Olympics in August has already upset the Chelsea bosses, and there has also been plenty of fallout from his volatile comments following Jose Mourinho's departure - something that has upset Roman Abramovich personally.

Then of course, there is the issue of his current injury, with the Ivorian insisting on an immediate operation as opposed to soldiering on for a couple of weeks.

Both parties are unhappy with the way things have panned out over the last couple of months. While all that has been brushed under the carpet for now, it will all be discussed in detail over the summer, and a move away from Stamford Bridge is very much possible.

With Amauri not for sale according to Palermo's director of sports, Rino Foschi, signing the Ivorian seems like the only way for Milan to bring in a player who can guarantee a number of matches per season, unlike Ronaldo, who has featured just once in the last 6 months.

Unfortunately I think Ronaldo's time is up at Milan (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) If I'm right Ronaldo has only played 90 mins this season and we're almost at the halfway point (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) that is just unacceptable IMO injury or no injury. I feel that the best for all concerned is for Ronaldo to move on and for us to get someone who can play at least three quarters of our matches and hopefully score regularly. We also need someone who will compliment our other players and I think that Drogba fits perfectly.

i dont think drogba is the solution for milan. i think he is a good striker but his strengths and abilities arnt what milan need in a striker. milan need a striker that can run at defenders who are good on the ball and are very skilled, drogba is a strong agressive player who has a eye for goal but is lacking in the skill department. a player like david villa or torres would be a dream there skill on the ball runnin by and cutting up defenders is outstanding. well worth the money if you ask me. you cant put a price on scoring goals and winning games.

Drogba: I Will Join Barça Or Milan

The Ivorian striker has been linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge on a consistent basis ever since the departure of Jose Mourinho.

Drogba revealed in an interview with France Football last October that he would definitely be leaving the club, and that nothing could change his mind.

The two clubs most heavily associated with signing the 29-year-old have been Barcelona and Milan. The player has now admitted that he will be ending up at one of these two destinations at the end of the season.

"The next summer I will go away from London,” Drogba was quoted while on duty at the African Cup of Nations in Ghana.

“For my future there is Barcelona or Milan.”

One key factor in deciding which of these two giants Drogba opts for could be linked to former mentor Mourinho.

The Portuguese tactician has been linked with taking over at both clubs, as Frank Rijkaard and Carlo Ancelotti are both virtually certain to move on to pastures new in the summer.

Drogba has a very close bond with Mourinho, and has never hidden how grateful he is for making him the world-class player he is today.

Gee, wasn't it yesterday that he said he was happy at Chelsea?(IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Drogba is a very strong striker in excellent form. I hesitate just a touch at saying I'd want him in Milan for a couple of reasons: 1. He seems to be a bit of a drama queen and I worry that it might disrupt the dressing room; 2. I definitely wouldn't want him if it means bringing the Portuguese coach (no offense, Porty) with him.

Drogba, the BEST solution to our attacking problems.

Just think of Pato-Drogba partnership, you'd definitely want him in Milan...

I'm not convinced he's the person we need. A long ball specialist?? So he's strong, and has got good presence inside the box. And as for being a proven goal scorer...when you switch leagues it counts for little.

You mean we should search for a striker inside Italy so they're proven? like Amauri?...

They say he's good, but personally I can't stand another 'Brazilian striker' in Milan... (IMG:http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/sorrowsmiley2.gif)

yeah but still, he is a great striker...can hold the ball, good technique, can score from outside of the box(i don't know when that last happend for any milan strikers, except for ronaldo's first goal vs. inter), has good speed...but if drogba really arrives, then gila will defenitly go...

It's not like his style to play football depends on a certain kind to play football in England. He's just like Luca Toni. Those kind of players (tall, strong, athletic) can play in any league of the world without further reembedding.

I mean getting a proven striker isn't as easy as throwing money at someone. Chelsea learnt that with Sheva...I'd rather we not learn it ourselves.

Drogba took one season to get used to EPL after he moved in from Marseille. He's been trained by Mourinho to play in Jose's system. He even credits Mou with that. And you don't need me to tell you Mourinho's system and Milan's system are poles apart.

For starters, Drog is not gonna have people send him aerial balls and long crosses from left right and centre...no balls richochetting off clumsy defender's backsides to tap in. And a hundred defenders won't jump on his back so he can twist them all around and score. That's not how Serie A defending works.

He's more likely to get through balls, radar guided passes (from my boy (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) ) and defensive mid-fielders cutting/ choking his supply, defenders surrounding him, leaving him enough space to move but do nothin else. Essentially leaving him to link up with Kaka and Seedorf, who are far more technical and less physical than Lamps / Mikel.

Please don't get me wrong...Drog is not a retard to sit and do nothing...of course he'll acclimatise. But I'm not spending 30 mill to see him take a year to get the hang of things. 15 mill fair enough.

He won't need that year. The Drogba you describe (the one who depends a lot on crosses and aerial balls) is IMO the old Drogba. His game is by far better nowadays. He's a world-class finsisher (something we don't have as Pato is too young Gila is Gila and Pippo and the fat one beeing always injured), he brings his amazing physics into play perfectly and he knows how to use this in a very smart way.
He might have needed that year in England when he was still 26 and only playing in France before....now he's 30 and a world class player.
Amauri? He's nothing special and I don't want another brazilian either.

I agree with my Teutonic friend about Amauri. About Drog..well I hope so, but I've yet to see him play in a kind of strategy which is passing based and high-technique.

Yes he has certainly improved, but to be honest I'd prefer Eto'o over Drog in a heartbeat. Eto'o is much better than Drog at exploiting spaces, he is faster, and I'd rate their finishing at par.

With Eto'o-Pato and Kaka....up front...Seedorf and Pirlo behind, it is a much more lethal attack than with Drog up there. Besides with Eto'o you can pair him up with Gila or Pippo, and not lose much in terms of play style. With Drog things would slow down considerably.

I can assure you Eto'o prefers to stay in Barca or join an EPL team rather than join Milan. he's a cvnto.

Eto'o would be a nice option as well. But for some reason I have a weakness for Drogba and his physical style to play football. I think his strenght combined with the pace of the little duck would be an excellent partnership.

Controcampo has an article today indicating that they think Milan will bid for Drogba. The article talks about a hypothetical front line for Milan next season, and is hypothesizing that it'll be: Pato, Drogba, Pippo, and Paloschi (who they think will move straight to the first team and not be loaned out). They don't seem too sure of Gila's future at all and seem to think Ronie won't remain.

If we sign Drogba we'll be really fine in attack. even if R99 leaves...

Drogba / Ronaldo / Pato / Gilardino / Inzaghi / and now Paloschi... (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/freak.gif) plus we have two on-loan strikers who are doing well and might earn a recall.

But a possible Drogba move,.. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devilsmiley.gif) . I'd welcome that with open arms. All we need is a AM who can replace Kaka when needed.

I'm not that sure. Carlo is not using him for a reason, a reason we don't know but for sure is there.

We could get a new midfielder, maybe and experienced one who wouldn't mind being benched. Dam'it Boban, Leonardo and Rui Costa played for two or more seasons as bench players. There must be someone out there.

Well we got 35 mill for Sheva...add another 50 mill for the CL...and if you looked at our finance sheets...we had 1 mill profit to show end of year.

Don't know of any world class players who'd come for 1 million.

Not to mention that lately our finance deals haven't been as good as the competition.

If we're gonna spend it has to come from Silvio's pocket.

*

But we also payed 15 mill for Flopiveira, 9 mill for Oddo, about 7 mill for Ronaldo (plus a big fat contract for the fat one), 4 mill or so for Gourcuff, 3 mill on Bonera and also some money on Grimi.
It's not like we didn't spent any money at all.

I think expect for Ronaldo, all the rest were bankrolled by the club. So things are not as bad as they look. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

imo its drogba or amauri...
benezema its good but im feeling the same hype there was wen gila was at parma...
lets remember that we have borriello and oliveira under our sleeves to make a deal work out
lets reckon that this are players that are 5stars but if u check the files the havent scored a massive amount of goals...both almost same age
very similar caracteristics

I'm still confused by this. Surely Sheva is eligible for EU, he spent ages in Italy. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Drogba Milan's Number One Target
Chelsea striker Didier Drogba is top of AC Milan's shopping list, according to reports. The Rossoneri are willing to spend €20m (£15m) to get their man.

This is not the first time that the Ivorian - whose future at Stamford Bridge is less than clear - has been linked with Milan.

But the Rossoneri's early exit from the Champions League has hammered home to top officials that they are crying out for a decent centre forward.  Drogba, it seems, is top of their wish list.

Wednesday Meeting

According to the Sun, Milan technical director Ariedo Braida met Drogba's representatives in Italy on Wednesday, just a day after the European exit to Arsenal.

"Milan are crazy about Didier. There was a meeting in Milan this week and the Italians said Didier is their priority for this summer," a source close to Drogba reportedly confirmed to the newspaper.

Wage Bitterness

The 30-year-old is said to be unhappy with his wages at Stamford Bridge, which are less than half those earned by club skipper John Terry.  Chelsea have thus far failed to honour their promise to him of a pay rise, a vow made after last season's FA Cup triumph.

€20m The Limit

One stumbling block may be the price that Chelsea demand for the striker, who has been quoted in several French publications in recent months as saying he wanted to move on following José Mourinho's departure.  Milan have allegedly told the Ivorian star to put pressure on the Blues to allow a move to go through for €20m or less - the Rossoneri have made it clear that they won't be held to ransom.  Drogba joined Chelsea from Marseille for close to double that amount in 2004.

Drogba's Milan Admission
(IMG:http://www.goal.com/images/23929_news.jpg)
There have been plenty of mixed messages come from all parties involved in respect to whether the Ivorian striker will trade Stamford Bridge for the San Siro this summer, but a passage taken from his recently released autobiography would appear to make it something of a forgone conclusion.

"All footballers dream of signing for AC Milan," he wrote, before revealing that in 2006, he secretly traveled by private jet to meet with Milan royalty Paolo Maldini and Adrian Galliani.

"I explained to Paolo Maldini that Milan is a club I would love to join."

Galliani then allegedly asked him pointblank when he would like to play for Milan, to which he responded: "Whenever you want, it's all up to you. Get the money ready and go see Chelsea."

The Rossoneri VP was on the phone with an offer to Chelsea the very next day, according to Drogba, who also revealed how Mourinho reacted to him.

"'OK, seeing as we are not kids we are going to talk," he quoted the Portuguese coach as saying to him.

"I trusted you - I've done everything for you and there you are telling me you're going to the dentist in Paris when in fact you're in Milan talking over your transfer.

"You lied to me. You didn't keep your word. Have you been badly brought up or what?"

Having made the shocking admission, Drogba went on to insist that the coquetry had no adverse affect on his form, as he went on to score 34 goals that season for Chelsea.

All things considered, Chelsea’s title-decider against Bolton Wanderers last weekend could very well have been Drogba's last for the Blues in the Premier League. According to the Mirror, Chelsea's most prolific striker has agreed to sign a three-year contract and link up again Mourinho, who is said to be lined up as Carlo Ancelotti's replacement at the San Siro.

If it was his last league game, it obviously wasn't one he'll remember very fondly, as Chelsea contrived to let in a late equalizer again at Stamford Bridge to compound Manchester United title-sealing victory at Watford.

"Losing those eight points has been massive for us," said Drogba, of the wins they threw away at home to Aston Villa, Everton and Wigan.

"It is far too many for us to lay claim to being champions. It is certainly proof of too much complacency and a lack of concentration on our part," he added.

"Each time we had the result in our hands but sometimes we mentally finish games before the final whistle.

"Manchester United deserved their title. They have been rewarded for their consistency. We have made too many mistakes, including on Sunday when we let Bolton equalise 30 seconds before the end of added time."

Well, well. What have we here! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) This summer could very well still be somewhat interesting, as opposed to say the last two transfer seasons we had.

Mourinho and Drogba to Milan? Hell yes. That would be a step in the right direction. Two new champions who are hungry for success.

Not all the fans think like that either. I may be the only one here who holds the opinion but I do NOT want Jose Mourinho at Milan.

Drogba is another story - him I wouldn't mind seeing at Milan.

The goal.crap article is seeming to mix two sources. One is the part of his book in which he says he wants to play for Milan. The other is an article from the English tabloid press and a lot of creative speculation.

Who wants an arrogant prick here ... This is a classy club and he isn't the only coach out there to work wonders (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Sacchi, Capello, and Acnelotti have all done the club proud by winning with class and winning a LOT! I don't remember asking for Johan Cruyff when he was winning for Barca (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/innocent.gif)

You don't want arrogant people here? The"most succesful club" line thread would suggest that you don't want Silvio, Galliani and many of the players here then. That's a shame.

Corriere (which is not always reliable) is reporting that Drogba is ready to 'betray' Mourinho and sign for Milan even if Mourinho goes to the merda.

Yes, Drogba would be welcome with open arms (and whatnot). (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Should solve our problems in attack for the next three years at least. Plus, he has more class in choosing to play for us, as say someone like David Suazo.
