QUOTE Livorno president Aldo Spinelli has admitted he will allow star striker Cristiano Lucarelli to leave the club.
However, any interested parties will have to meet Lucarelli's release clause - which stands at €9million (£6.4million).
Lucarelli has clashed with Spinelli over the sacking of coach Daniele Arrigoni and he has stated that he wants to leave.
"My history with Livorno is over. It is clear that Spinelli is trying to force me out of the club, I do not want there to be any doubts," explained Lucarelli.
"The president told me that with my behaviour I am influencing the atmosphere and the team.
"I thought I could only influence the club with my goals, having scored 85 times in this shirt. I wanted to stay here for life, evidently I was wrong,"
Spinelli had reacted by stating the 31-year-old can leave.
"I cannot block him and if he wants to leave this club then he can go," said Spinelli.
"He has a clause and if there is a club willing to pay that price then I will honour our deal and let him leave.
"In January Palermo were interested in Lucarelli, but they didn't want to pay enough. Obviously I would be sorry to see him go as I would like him to stay until 2010.
"I don't know if Cristiano really wants to leave Livorno, even if I understand that at the age of 31 he could have the wish to try a big move." -Skysports

QUOTE (mishale @ Mar 24 2007, 05:57 PM) He was top scorer in Spain and 26 years old (not 32) and the time was running out for obvious reasons. There is a difference scoring for Livorno and scoring for Milan (see Gila who was a prooven goalscorer for Parma too) Exactly Lucarelli is a good striker, definately better then Pippo, in the technical aspect but spending 8 million on a 31 year old when we need to rejuvinate our squad and spend some serious money on other areas is not a good idea. We need someone young for the attack like Pato who will be eased into the squad gradually. R9 will be back to 100% next season, Oli and Gila also will hopefully get their act together so it would be realhard for someone like Lucarelli to break into the team, where as if we get someone like Pato we could ease him in slowly without and pressure to deliver immediately because he has experianced players around him. Lucarelli is not the answer for us.

Right now we have:
Diver age 24 Olive age 26 Borriello age 24 inzaghi age 33 ronaldo age 30
Inzaghi and boriello are going to be out next season so that leaves us with:
oliv diver ronaldo Lucarelli (if we sign him)
Now think about it like this. Lucarelli doesn't need to play CL for us, but he sure can help assist us in serie A. Ronaldo can't start every game, and the diver and oliv can't score every game too. Luca, can score against chievo and all the smaller teams, which is good because i think we as fans deserve a scudetto soon. Unless we sign toni, i dont see pato making the difference in games. Look at gourcuff, he barely gets playing time. What makes you think that pato will be any different. Milan is not a club who raises youngsters like arsenal, we repair careers, and take them from there prime and retire them.
Furthermore, instead of wasting money, we can sign R10 and sign luca for cheap and we will be garunteed goals. I would rather not waste our money on huntelaar and see to it that he turns out like gilardino. Lucarelli wont stay for long aswell, so we can use his skillz temporarily till some strikers worthy of sheva/ronaldos shoes comes along so we can fill them.

You can't compare Lucarelli and R10.
And I really don't see why we need Lucarelli. Imo he won't help our team in anyway.
Next summer our priorities should be getting a LB, a really goog CB that will take over Paolo's place (and hopefully some useless guys like Kala and Simic leave), a midfielder that can play enywhere in our midfield, getting R9 totally 100% fit, getting Oli and Gila back on track and getting a young striker that we think will develop into something special like we did with Sheva.
There is no need to rush to get our Sheva replacement atm since we have R9, so we can do that without any hurry and not make any mistakes and get young flops.

Lucarelli is not the answer for us. and how old is oddo? besides forwards always cost more than defenders or midfielders. so 8-9 million for luca is not a lot + if he comes in we'll have to sell one of our other forwards so that will help cover the cost.

QUOTE (bigmacmtl @ Mar 25 2007, 03:34 AM) 1 good season is not prooving ones self. thing is gila was always played a lone striker at, the whole attack revolved around getting gila the ball in the box. i mean i couldnt care less about how old oli was when he was top scorer (it was the same situation with him at betis and santos, he was always deployed as a lone striker) and for all we know oli might turn out to be a very good player 4-5 years down the road but we dont have time for this, we arent going to wait this period of time to get a decent striker. i'm not expecting lucarelli to come in and lead our attack just some some solid play from a prooven serie a scorer. look at his record in the past 4 years: 76 games, 53 goals. the way oliveira has been playing for us is like this attitude that he has nothing to proove. all i know is 9 million isnt a lot for a solid serie a forward, all i know i'd rather have him playing than some 15 million euro mercenary bum that had 1 good season and in another league. So how come everyone wants players like Pato who are young and promising if no one wants to give them time to develop. Oli is having a hard time but he has a great scoring record from anywhere he has been up until now. If we get someone like Pato or Huntelaar we would have to pay money like we payed for Oli and we will have to give him time to settle in. And sure Gila had the team revolving around him at Parma but so does Lucarelli at Livorno, Gila was a proven goal scorer in Serie A also with 24 goals per season in his Parma days and when he came to Milan he didn't deliver like everyone expected him to, Imo both the situations are the same but Gila is 24 and Lucarelli is 31, so he doesn't have the time to settle in. I don't see why we should get him that's all, it would seem like a useless buy, as I said our attack is set for next seasonb, R9 will get back to 100% Oli will be more settled Gila will hopefully show us why we payed so much money for him and if Pippo stays he might spring a surprise on us like last season. All we need to do is try and get our next big star who will lead our attack in the future and we don't have to rush this since the attack has enough depth in it.

All we need to do is try and get our next big star who will lead our attack in the future and we don't have to rush this since the attack has enough depth in it. sorry but our attack is not set for next season, even with R99. it's still lacking that one creative forward (with pace) that can make the difference. pippo, gila and oli hvae not had bellow average season or bad season, they've had terrible season with no signs of getting any better. i say same forwards same problem. sure ronaldo is going to help out a lot but he isnt getting any younger, we're still missing something. so what ur saying is we should keep pippo because magically he might start playing well? look at his play right now, thats what we should be looking at, he hasnt had a good spell all season. Gila is a ghost the vast majority of the time, and when he has the odd game where he gets lots of chances this so called box stiker misses 80% of his chances. Oli looks just a slost as was in the first month of the year so i dont get ho he's suddenly going to be settled in next season. obviously i dont want us to get ride of all these guys but it would be foolish to not make any changes. It's simple you think any CL or UEFA cup caliber club in europe would keep 3 strikers that have sucked for whole seaons length? they would have no choice but to make a change or two. all i know is not going to endure another season with forwards that are not able to score, the fact that anyone thinks our attack is set for next season just makes me want to laugh.

QUOTE it's still lacking that one creative forward (with pace) that can make the difference. Hence Ronaldinho and not Lucarelli. QUOTE It's simple you think any CL or UEFA cup caliber club in europe would keep 3 strikers that have sucked for whole seaons length? Pippo sucked? Well if he did, we wouldn't be playing Bayern right now. Would have gone out to Bucharest. Then he managed to get injured. Gila...off season, live with it. We all almost agreed, we'd give him 1-2 seasons more and then have him shipped out. Oli...can't really qualify to comment. He's been far from a regular player, and has all those family problems. Needs at least one more season, before we can even qualify to comment. R99...3 matches, 3 goals or something right? And this is with him out of form, and shape. He's 31, so that's not too old. Old age starts at 34. What han says is we have depth on paper. It's unfair to judge a player's quality by one season of performance and ask for replacements. That sounds like the kind of thing, Madrid do. AND..we are going for Ronaldinho. That's news. So no real point in wasting lures, catching all the small fish you can find, so you end up with F_k All when it's time to net the big shark.

Take away Inzaghis goals and we would still go thru on away goals. but just to let you know if oli, gila and inzaghi dint suck so much in serie a this year well maybe we would actually be challenging for 2nd spot or even for the scudetto. oli far from regular? we've been relying on 3 forwards for most of the season so i dont see how he hasnt been regular, dont be easily influenced just cuz he isnt getting much time now that ronaldo is with us. and as far as ronaldinho is concerned, i dont see how any of you actually think he's coming this summer. galliani and company have said themselves they only want to sign him when barca decide to sell him or at the end of his contract. I'll be damned the day we spend 84 million on one fucking player. like do you actually think we're going to go out and spend that much?!?! and if we do it's because berlusconi and galliani have gone mental.

QUOTE (Rossoneri7 @ Mar 25 2007, 09:32 PM) Whatever makes u think Silvio is mental ?? Well for one thing, he is running a multi billion dollar company, what r u (I and everyone here) doing ?? Other than complaining ?? (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) how is that complaining? i'm only stating facts. I never said he is mental, but if he spends 84 million on one player (unless he wins us several scudetti and CLs) then yes we would have to ask questions. Just cuz milan has stated they would like to sign gaucho doesnt mean we're going to do it this summer. i remember hearing rumors of sheva going to chelsea when abromovich first took over but it took 3 years for it materialised. i'm only beeing realistic here, theres no denying pippo, gila and oli have not played well this season so when i say they sucked it's not because i dislike them or something. Fact of the matter is i'm more concerned about milan improoving, so i'm not going to get all sentimental and hope for pippo to stay another season just so he can retire with us unless he i thought he still has something to give. Anyways i'm sure oli is leaving at the end of the season, why would they suddenly try to loan him out? it wasnt for him to gain confidence because he surely isnt going to get it on Reals bench (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) it was obvious they were trying to get ride of him + carlo never wants to play him coupled with the fact that he cant score so i dont see how he's going to stay. the only one of the 3 i see staying is gila because afterall he still is an italian international so that has to serve for something + we paid a lot so give him a lil more time and of the 3 he's played the best.
