----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nesta set for Lazio return?Wednesday 25 October, 2006Alessandro Nesta is yet to extend his deal with Milan and could return to Lazio, according to the latest reports in Italy. The defender is currently contracted to the Via Turati outfit until 2008, but has not yet started any discussions with the club to extend the deal. This has fuelled speculation that he would favour a return to the capital city, where he played with the Biancocelesti from 1993 to 2002. Rumours suggest Lazio President Claudio Lotito would be ready to make an immediate offer to bring the 2006 FIFA World Player nominee back home as early as January, although the defender is currently paid over £2.8m per season. Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani was eager to deny that there are no problems with Nesta, who allegedly would like his newborn daughter Sofia to grow up in Rome. “Nesta still has two years before his contract with us comes to an end, there is no rush to discuss an extension,†said the Rossoneri official. Nesta could therefore decide to honour his agreement with the San Siro outfit and then return to Lazio on a free transfer deal. Well he did wanna end his career with Lazio didn't he? We were lucky to get him in the first place.
The good thing is that Bonera would finally be able to play as CB.
The bad thing is we're f@cked!

QUOTE CHELSEA ALERTED TO NESTA CHELSEA target Alessandro Nesta could be available on a free transfer next summer after failing to agree a new deal with AC Milan. The centre-half is out of contract at the end of the season and has not started talks about extending his stay at Milan. linkQUOTE Nesta linked with Premiership move Chelsea and Lazio are both preparing bids for Azzuri star Alessandro Nesta after his contract negotiations with current club AC Milan broke down. Nesta, 30, is out of contract at the end of the season and could be tempted by a big money move abroad. link

QUOTE (mishale @ Oct 26 2006, 04:53 PM) Yes, but I think he could leave because of some Fifa rule. I don't really believe he would leave, atleast not right now, and if he where to leave it would definately be to Lazio and to retire. I would give him 2 to 3 more years with us (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) But definately not at the end of this season

QUOTE (Rossoneri7 @ Nov 4 2006, 01:43 AM) Chill .. Nesta isn't going anywhere .. He wants to retire in Lazio ? Sure, when he's 35 yrs old and Milan has already absorbed everything he has to give. He'll be here for a while (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif) Exactly, Pirlo said himself when he signed his contract that Nesta would soon be doing it himself, so I'm not worried about it
