----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso has promised he will return to Rangers before the end of his career. The World Cup winner and former Rangers favourite claims he has unfinished business at Ibrox and he has now made a pledge to Gers chairman David Murray. Gattuso garnered cult status with the Rangers faithful after being brought to the club from Perugia, as a 19-year-old by then incumbent Walter Smith. While his pugnacious displays in the middle of the park brought rave reviews from the stands, he was allowed to leave the club in 1998, when **** Advocaat took over at the helm. Gattuso, who is married to a Scot, is under contract at Milan until 2011 but that has not stopped him from making a vow to return to the club where he enjoyed his formative years. "I don't know when it will happen but it will happen," said Gattuso. "I just have to go back and it's a promise I have made to myself and David Murray. "I spoke to David in August in Edinburgh and he told me the door was always open for me. There won't be any problems with money. "I know they are going through a bad time financially, and I won't go there to take a pension either. "I won't go at 35 or 36, I'll go when I've still got something to offer them, at European level as well as Scottish. "When I left Glasgow, it wasn't through the main door, I was forced to flee almost like some sort of thief, at four in the morning. That's stuck in my throat since. "I'm a player who wants people to see how much I put into things, not someone who just runs away in the night. "I've got a debt towards Rangers fans because of the way I left. They helped me get where I am. I just have to go back." Planet Football-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good. Go. Right now. Or at least in the summer. Gennaro is not doing anything for Milan at the moment. The only games that he is useful in are those in the Champions League and the derbies against Inter. Those are the only games he even puts in an effort. If you ask me, he's just occupying valuable space in the squad right now, while having a huge salary. We have Brocchi and Ambrosini as defensive midfielders, who actually are able to create something in offense as well, something you certainly couldn't say about Gattuso.
Remember the CL-final against Liverpool? (Idiotic question, I know) Afterwards, he wasn't keen at all on continue playing for Milan. He said he wanted to leave for Man United. Now, when things are going crappy for the team, he says he will leave for Rangers in the near future. Notice that he claims he will not go there when he's 35 or 36, but while he still has something to offer the club. He's 29 now, that means he'll probably leave in a 2 years period if you ever can trust this *******. Just a few months ago he said he would end his career in Milan, now this. You want a third example? Just about a year ago, Ambrosini was outplaying Gattuso(as he always would be if it wasn't for all his injuries) and after a good 3 or 4 games on the bench he started to moan and threatened he would leave the club. Unfortunately, Ambrosini got injured again and Carlo had to put Gattuso on the pitch again. He's just a selfish ******* and for god sake don't say he's loyal. A loyal player are the ones who doesn't get to play 90 minutes every game, but still stays because he loves the club. This is not Gattuso. Sure, things might look easy when you always get to play and the team are doing well. However, it's in these type of situations, when the team struggle that the true Milanisti shows its worth. Rhino is not one of those. Ambrosini, Costacurta, Simic and even Rui Costa when he was still here. Those are the ones to charish and love...

QUOTE (aLbErTo @ Oct 15 2006, 09:09 PM) It may sound funny but milan without gattuso is NOT milan!!! He's does the job which is not as seen as maybe pirlo's passes or inzaghi's goals...but he's definitly one of the key players !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. I don't belive this is true anyway ! Milan without Gattuso is too Milan. When Sheva left Milan, I thought it would never be the same, he's irreplaceble. So far, I've been right. But he will be replaced some day. Gattuso is not at the same level, he may run around on the pitch acting all crazy and do the job that is actually visible, not the other way around. Who doesn't notice Gattuso in a game??? But he's in no way indespensible for the club, I can guarantee you that. I might have thrown myself into a battle that I can't win, but I'm so got damn tired of this guy. "I'm staying, I'm not staying. I wanna be the future captain, no wait, I'll join Rangers or Man United instead..." He's not a star player and with the money Milan probably will get from the sale, he'll easily be replaced. Either with Ambro, Brocchi or some new player. That is if Galliani gets the power to act, instead of sitting around waiting for some kind of miracle, like he did when Sheva left...

(IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) U disappoint me I was hoping for a fight....personally I wouldn't keep him of course if he said he wanted to leave. In fact in my opinion only the following people are irreplaceable... Paolo coz of who he is Pirlo-what he does is unique and anyone else who can do at least a similar function would be impossible to buy...say X.Alonso. Kaka-enuff said Nesta-World's best CB...Terry can go suck Advocaat Everyone else if he/she were to leave wouldn't really cause a disaster, just a setback, besides almost any player Milan has will definitely fetch HuGe BaNk! So we could buy a replacement. But dst I wouldn't agree in exchanging Rino for RVP....they perform diff functions. The trouble is Brocchi and Ambro probably do the same function, but can't combine all the qualities Rino has. Ok Rino is bull headed and helps keep things tight, but if ur in a mess he's not a wizard to pull you out, but then neither is Ambro or Brocchi. In fact that's precisely why Carlo plays Pirlo alongside Rino. The wizard and his attendant(sorry Rino (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) ) . The only people who can fit into our system if Rino left(not perform exactly the same functions)are probably Sissoko(if he would stop to use his brain for a second),Mascherano(just about outta reach),De Rossi(do Roma players ever leave their clubs??), maybe even Essien or Makalele. At least with Essien you have a certain amount of playmaking and scoring abilities.

You are right, RvP is not what we would need, first of all Pirlo needs a DMF alonside him; but we need a holding midfielder that can be creative ... something like a "Holdive Midfielder" !! The above are good (except for Sissoko) ... of which I prefer Xabi (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) Alonso !! Another potential replacement would be the already rumoured transfer Sneijder ...

QUOTE Gennaro Gattuso has reassured Rossoneri fans that he doesn’t want a Rangers return. “I will end my career at Milan,†declared Ringhio.
The world champion was strongly linked with a sensational return to his former Scottish club over the weekend.
But the former Perugia and Salernitana man has insisted he won’t play for the Ibrox club again following his brief stint there in the late 1990s.
“This is all my fault, I should learn to keep my mouth shut and not release any statements,†the midfielder told the Milan website.
“The journalists wrote the exact opposite of what I had said, that is the problem,†added the 28-year-old.
“I only declared that Rangers gave me the opportunity to play as a professional on their side, but my will is to end my career at Milan – as everyone knows.
“If this will not happen it will only be because I am no longer able to offer 100 per cent in my performances.
“As long as the club will continue to treat me as they do and the supporters show their affection to me as they have done until now, there is no reason for me to leave the strongest side in the world.
“You all know that I like Scottish football, but after eight years at Milan I don’t really see any other possibilities than ending my career here,†continued the World Cup hero.
“I want to reassure all the Milan fans that there will not be another Andriy Shevchenko case.
“I told Adriano Galliani that I would have stayed even in a lower Division that I cannot even manage to pronounce, I want to keep on fighting for this jersey.
“This is a club where you win every other year, I cannot forget what Milan have given me in all these years,†concluded Gattuso.
The ball-winner made his 300th appearance with Milan in the Champions League 0-0 draw against Lille in September. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devilsmiley.gif)

Honestly...I think he won't end his career with us... I mean he can say that he doesn't want to leave and that the journalists got it all wrong, but the fact is that this is not the only rumour about him leaving us, and journalists aren't that stupid and bored...

The rumors about him leaving us where not actually rumors, he admitted after the CL final that he was thinking of leaving to England but said that once he talked it out with Carlo he decided to stay. He was the only one plus Gila from out team that had the B@lls to say that they would stay if we where relegated during the summer. The point is, why would I trust what the papers write when they can easily twist your words or write complete lies, to what he says on the official site? Where I am sure that what is quoted from him is not something that is made up

Sheva was also talking like "Oh, I'll never leave..no, I want to be like Maldini and Baresi...blablabla..." I can't trust Rino more than I trusted him.
