Cafu urges Oddo capture
Friday 13 October, 2006

Marcos Cafu believes Massimo Oddo of Lazio could be his successor at Milan once he ends his San Siro stint.

The 36-year-old Brazilian has not yet decided on what his future will be, but is convinced that the capital man is the only player who could replace him in his role.

“My future? It's too early to talk about it as we have only just started the season,” said the World Cup winner.

“But I have to admit that I think Oddo could do well in my place as he is a player who is definitely suitable for Milan.”

Oddo has been paired with a move to the Rossoneri for the last two years, but no transfer fee has ever been agreed for the attacking full-back after Biancocelesti chief Claudio Lotito slapped an £8m price tag on him.

The former Verona star, who actually started his career at Milan, has admitted that he would welcome a return to northern Italy.

I don't too but he's the captain there at Lazio ... and after last summer's humiliation we can only hope his rossonero heart will speak !! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devil.gif)

I've seen both Italy matches against Ukraine and Georgia and I have to say Oddo really impressed me. He was like a rock in defense but also was good attacking. We should get him, if not this winter, then definitely next summer.

In one year I`ll find you all alone five-six fresh and young RB players better/or - could - be - better than Oddo. And hey, if you don`t want a youngster, let`s drop by to Sevilla, there is a man called Dani Alves waiting to be taken..Either options are more acceptable for me than begging for Oddo. OK, he plays in good form and his crosses actually start to find players, still cm on, we didn`t get Oddo when we were desperate this summer...why should we now bring him? Let`s forget all of those summer-transfer-ideas and turn a new chapter with Dani Alves, Klose, Gaucho (don`t inculde him for the last mercato), Amelia even Sneijder... Oddo set for Lazio talks
Saturday 25 November, 2006

Lazio will soon meet Massimo Oddo in an attempt to tie him down to a new contract at the Stadio Olimpico.

Oddo’s present deal expires in 2008, but a UEFA ruling means that he could leave in 2007 for as little as £2m.

Milan would be keen on acquiring him at that price after again failing to land the right-back before the start of this season.

Lazio chief Claudio Lotito values the Italian at £8m and is desperate for the club captain to remain in Rome.

Oddo himself has also openly admitted that he wants to end his career with the Biancocelesti, but agreeing terms may be problematic.

The former Verona player currently earns around £1m a season and would want a similar amount of money to stay on.

But Lotito has now installed a salary cap at the club, thought to be around £400,000 a year, to try and rectify the outfit’s economical issues.

Hid defencive game is definately his string point, but he is still very good going forward, not to mention he can take a very good free-kick and takes all the penalties for his club which he never misses from btw

Hmm he is 30 though.. its sort of only a quick fix. Which is the reason were in this current situation. Well that and super sheva leaving :S.

I'm not sure if oddo is what we need right now. Although probably get 4 good seasons out of him.

BTW kaka' hasn't missed a penalty for us yet either.

Basically splash some cash milan.. were in a hole and the current team is going no where. All your doing is giving kaka' reason to leave us :S.

Looking forward to january.. let the countdown begin..
