Arsenal have been linked with a move for Kakha Kaladze, who is reportedly on his way out of AC Milan.

Reports in the Italian press suggest the Georgia international is ready to leave the San Siro.

The versatile defender has informed coach Carlo Ancelotti he is seeking regular first-team football and this could alert the attention of the Premiership's biggest clubs.

Kaladze has been a long-term target for Chelsea and Manchester United while Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is also expected to make enquiries after admitting he is seeking an experienced defender.

On Tuesday the Gunners boss confirmed they have made an offer for William Gallas but revealed the Frenchman was not the only target.

He said: "We want the player because we made an offer for him. That is clear. Gallas is not the only player we have a chance of getting. As you know there is always a lot happening in the last few days - but he is a player we have a chance to get."

The future of left-back Ashley Cole remains uncertain despite his clear desire to leave and Wenger's willingness to let him go and Kaladze would be a suitable addition to the squad.

Because of his injury, he played no part in either leg of Milan's Champions League qualifer against Crvena Zvezda and would therefore be eligible for European competition this season.

The only way I see Kaladze going to Arsenal is if we get Gallas, Kaladze would be a very useful for Arsenal since he is a LB that can play very well as a CB.

IMO, Kaladze > Gallas

I want kaladze to stay! Gallas will never settle with Italian players after the WC. Plus I think Kaladze really proved himslef last season.

Gallas>>>> Kaladze

It's football. Professional players know how to move on. I don't think there is any question about who is better player

And why exactly do you think gallas is better? Kaladze has really matured into a solid and powerful defender in our backline. I wouldn't trade him with no one. He should stay. But we could still get Gallas and get rid of Simic.

6 good month doesn't make him equal to Gallas who has shown to be one of the best all-around defenders and especially great CB.

Those were the only 6 months he's been allowed to play regularly as a CB, and not as LB which is not his preferable position. Kaladze was just as good as Nesta after christmas if you ask me, I would be really angry if he left.

Maybe, if Paolo had 26 years on his back. But at this present situation we simply cannot affort of loosing a player abel to play the LB. Gallas should come, but dam it, we must keep KK here with us. With Gallas we have more options, but KK is needed!

Not if we had Paolo 100 fit as I told. But what is our choice really instead? Who can play the LB? Do you think honestly Serginho will do it till the end of the season. Let`s get Gallas and pair him with Nesta as CB, RB is full of choices especially if Oddo comes and LB, the hell let us see KK again, if he makes somethin horrific we allawys can play Serg or Paolo, even Janku (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Kaladze > Gallas

Kala is much better than Gallas, it would be a stupid thing to let him go, especially now that he has transformed into a solid and reliable CB. If they want Gallas, ok, I agree. But we should keep Kaladze, that's out of discussion.

Why are we talking about this? First of all, this all b/s and Kala won't move. And second, we're well covered on the left flank: Serghino, Jankulovski, Favalli, Kaladze, not to count Maldini, Costacurta and even Bonera. Please guys, we have more imortant problems to talk about. Janku for example is a perfect LB, but his problem is he doesn't push a lot forwards. Sergio has the opposite problem. Favalli is too old for this and Kaladze is better as CB. I agree, we can find mcuh better left backs, but not this season. This 10 days we should concentrate in our attack and right back, which are way way worse.

Yeah how are we talking about left backs when we haven't gotten a RB or striker.

What a strange transfer market this is??

Way to procrastinate, wait till the last minute, and bet that Ronaldo will come..

Gallas is just a b!tch, who always complains when he sits in the bench. Kaladze is better than him and doesn't say a word when Carlo lends him on the bench. There is some difference you see.

Difference in attitude maybe....but Gallas complains when he's on the bench coz imho he's too good a player to be benched on any team...

Kaladze is different...he was second choice for Milan, and the only reason he got a chance was coz our frontline defenders were injured...

It's funny ... you sound like you really mean those words ...  (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Kaladze is SH1T!!!!!!! Gallas is world class!!!!
we saw what Kaladze can do when Nesta is not on his side in the game against Barcelona ...
*

I do mean them! And no, a **** defender can never settle in Milan. Kaladze is good enough to partner Nesta. And as X-offender already said, we don't need to be having this discussion as Kaladze is not our problem. We have more important things to focus on.

Gallas is just a b!tch, who always complains when he sits in the bench. Kaladze is better than him and doesn't say a word when Carlo lends him on the bench. There is some difference you see.

and the answer to that is;

I thought we rated players by their football skills.Gallas is million times better a player. And about the attitude ... what do you think Nesta would do if we was told to sit on the bench???You see when you're good on what you do ... it's different. It hurts (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Well that's just your opinion. It's no fact and a lot of people disagree with you. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

What are you guys on about??? We need a new left back??? Serginho, Jankulovski, Favalli and Paolo when he's fit are all good choices. Even Costacurta can play there if there's no other option. That's 4+1, while we only have one decent right back which is Cafú. Sure, Simic can play there but he's really a centreback and we all know that. Talks about Brocchi backing Cafú up is just sad. What we need is a right back, at least more than we need a LB. Good God...

That's what I've been saying the entire time. We're well covered except in the right flank and attack. We definitely have to sign either Oddo or Gallas and of course, get a new striker.

I'd prefer both seeing as how Gallas doesn't want to play as anything but CB
