So, lets say some words about our own players playing the WC,... There is a bunch of them, and they all got involved, so I am interested to hear some critics about them: Italy - Gattuso, Pirlo, Inzaghi, Nesta, Gilardino Brazil - Dida, Cafu, Kaka Australia - Kalac Croatia - Simic Czech rep. - Jankulovski And some former Milan players: Ivory Coast - Domoroud France - Dhooraso (hehe...Vieira.. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) ) Germany - Lehman Argentina - Ayala, Crespo Ukraine - Shevchenko At last, to add one more thing - I think MVB will regret his decision leaving Seedorf out of the dutch squad (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) !

Pirlo................... Nesta was excellent, but still Cannavaro was better!!! Gila mediocre, Inzaghi I won't rate Dida was the best keeper in the group stages but his goofs are always there... Kaka.................. Cafu has slow returns!!! Kalac, I didn't watch his game...Stupid channel they broadcasted the Nothing But Fancy Brasilians (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) Simic, solid and stupid!!! Jankulovski was great!!!!!!!!The best along with Cech!! Dhorasoo was great in the friendlies but noone's gonna leave Vieira out of the starting line-up (and righfully!!!)..He should play in Wiltord's place though...

Our players seem to be fitter than everybody else...

I almost disagree with everything you said... Pirlo: has been very very good and consistent. Nesta: Best CB in the world. He was easily Italy's best defender in the games he played. Gila: Same ol' Gila... He has to play 10 games to score 2 goals... Dida: Hasn't seriously been tested yet... Kaka: Fitest Brazilian player. He has done great so far and will only do better! Cafu: Better than expected, but we'll see how he does against more dangerous teams... Kalac: Someone please sell this joke to a Serie C team... Simic: He is no Milan class and never was... He did poorly for his country... Jankulovski: He was below average... He missplaced and misskicked most of his country's free kicks and also ruined some of Czech's offensive tactics with his bad interpretion... Vogel: I only saw him in the last game and he appeared very solid and effective. Gattuso: Great job so far! He is getting a lot better with his passes too.

QUOTE (pKillerMax @ Jun 26 2006, 09:04 PM) I almost disagree with everything you said... That's healthy!!!! (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I rated these players according to what I have seen so far, not according to their potential or whether they've been truly tested or not, 3 points are always three whether you're playing with Japan or Cech Rep.So Dida for example was always there to secure the win. I always watch defenders more carefully cause that's the position I like and can tell the most.Cannavaro has something Nesta hasn't perfected yet:He always comes infront of the attacker first to take the ball and more importantly with no foul!!!! However I have to disagree with myself too!!!Janku wasn't great he just was the best in the Czech team.Even though he wasn't very consistent he was always inside every occasion in those games...The only one trying!!!!

I must disagree with the conclusions...Dida was tested, against Croatia and Australia, and made a clean sheet run, while some brazilian defensive line-up didn´t work. Juan, Cafu and Carlos made many small but dangerous errors. Simic did great against Ronaldinho and Brazil, was notable against Japan in the defense. The only thing that is missing with him is more courage to come forward and make a decisive cross. Against Australian he acted just stupid... (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) Janku was brilliant. Every single action went throu him, he participated everywhere, did great defensive and offensive work.

QUOTE (dst @ Jun 27 2006, 06:40 PM) Lehman??What did he do??? (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) Apart from the game against Costa Rica I don't think he ever touched the football again...... Even I have to agree that Lehman had almost nothing to do, besides the 2 goals against Costa Rica, when he had no chance to prevent the goals. Besides he had, as usual, some goofs again...

Man of the day? Beside Ronaldo, who made a difference one more time, it is Dida. Now we are sure, the best link in the Brazilian defense is Dida. Cafu...mmm...had a 100% chance and missed (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) Lehmann? One or two minor goofs and insecurities. But what really bothers is that you never know what he is able to do...a brilliant save or a mad error. Still, Kahn had a mediocre season at Bayern. But I really expected of Klinsi to give him a chance against Equador, when they played only for prestige...after all, it isn´t such a risk to give Olli that chance. I mean, some teams trouble with their first keeper, and Germany has two at least to say solid keepers...
