Hi guys, Just like to say a big thank you to all members for their support! It's you guys (and gals! (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ) who keep the site going, which means that you have the power to change it. Which leads me on to Milanfan v2! Work has already started, but this will basically be a complete re-design of the site. This isn't just around the corner, but with your help/ideas/input, it will be ready in time for the new season (probably sooner (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devil.gif) ). I would really appreciate your thoughts on the current site. What do you like about Milanfan. What don't you like? What would you change, and what would you like to see? Anything you can think of, just drop a post in this thread or send me a PM. Thanks everyone, and hope you all have a great New Year! (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif) Mike.

Hum... first, thank you m1ke for keeping up the best Milan website all over the Internet. I hope Milanfan can stay for the next years.
Changing to v2? Hum, it's hard to say anything... it's almost perfect. Probably a new logo (related to Milan), and some adds/improvements to the forum (like add that levels "1 post - amateur" | "10 posts - beginner" | "1000 posts - pro").
In general, I would like a "darker" MilanFan.com. How can I say... Milan is Rossoneri. Red&Black. Should use more Red&Black than Red&White(nowadays).
But, all I want for Milanfan, is to be alive for the next years/seasons.
Thank you m1ke, again, and to all the admin/moderators... and of course, to all the Rossoneri Community who use/visit the website & the forum.
Happy new year!

Hey Well I also think that Milanfan is already almost perfect. Its running fine as far as I can see so its hard to put my finger on anything thats inneed of a revamp! (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Maybe we could have the AC Milan logo on more things? Or is it copyright? I personally dont like all the news on the front page, maybe have a link to go to the news instead of all the scrolling down to all the stories? Maybe we need more people posting news and things? Spread the load a bit more? apart from that all I can say is keep up the good work guys and dolls and well done to Mike for keeping up all the hard work (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

QUOTE (may83 @ Jan 1 2006, 04:40 PM) I personally dont like all the news on the front page, maybe have a link to go to the news instead of all the scrolling down to all the stories? The thing is, is the news service Milanfan uses might not be able to do that but I'm sure Mike will find a way to do so.

QUOTE (I_Rossoneri @ Jan 1 2006, 05:02 PM) m1ke, could you make it possible for us to be able to use our own avatars? as I know that I am not able to use my own avatar. Many thanks. Can't you upload it to imageshack, then use the link there to use it for your avatar (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

As for the whole load up your avatars from your own PC that is just the forums.
The forums are not made by milanfan, it is a set template (php coding, web design jargon!).
This is why it is hard to quickly change things on it.

QUOTE (BoomAM @ Jan 3 2006, 09:42 PM) The main thing that i'd like to see on V2 is that the main page uses as little 'fancy' design as possible. Stuff like QT, Flash & whatnot just causes the webpage to load slow on some computers, and myself, i like to click on MilanFan, and then within 2 seconds, the entire front page has loaded. Sorta like how it is now. A more liberal use of the colour black wouldnt go amiss either. Oh, and when i click on 'highlights' on a match report, it'd be nice if it went to the right thread. Thanks for the feedback dude (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif) There are going to be 2 versions of the new site, normal and 'lite'. These are just going to be defined by using seperate style sheets, and the site will remember your preference via cookies. Black (and red) will be the site's primary colour(s) (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devil.gif) And yeah, with regards to the highlights, that was always the intended aim. However, the match report is nearly always added before the highlight thread appears, which means someone needs to go back and manually edit the report to include the current link (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) But I'm glad you brought that up, because it's something thats being worked on!

QUOTE (m1ke @ Jan 4 2006, 01:29 AM) NP. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Seperate pages, as you said, is an excellent idea. To be honest, just minor changes need doing, the site is near perfect, just a few minor niggles, like some of us have pointed out, need fixing, and the site will be perfect. QUOTE (Mario @ Jan 20 2006, 02:51 PM) I think an "Anti - Inter" or "Anti - Juve" section would be niiiiiiiiiiiiiice !! I've seen this in another website (Will not name it cause I don't want to promote it) and it's too funny... Milfan V1 is awesome, I can't immagine V2 !! Keep up the good work guys (M1ke and team) ! If we have a source to update the Anti Inter or Anti Juve section , it would be great ! I once had an audio clip of Carlo pellegatti when Inzaghi scored the winner against FC Perdenti , priceless (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

QUOTE (Portugal @ Jan 20 2006, 05:43 PM) Don't agree with that - ANTI-... - It's a site for Milan, so it should not give importance to the others. To be honest, I don't give damn about them. That is true, why waste our time and energy or should I say the Mod's time and energy on them when you could put it into promoting more things on Milan on the site (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

QUOTE (Portugal @ Jan 26 2006, 03:59 PM) Maybe a WAP website (by phone)? Like wap.milanfan.com ... you enter in the website by your phone, and get all the latest news @ Milan. I mean, don't know if it's possible... but for the people who work and can't get in Internet during the week, would be great. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) Funny you should mention that, earlier this year I was setting that up, I would be unable to run it due to commitments but if anybody's interested...

QUOTE (m1ke @ Jan 2 2006, 10:05 PM) Yeah, really sorry about that guys. Boban, the person running the competition found it really hard to keep it going every week due to his other commitments, and I couldn't find anyone else who was willing to take it over. I'm going to take the prizes from this season and make them up for grabs next season, so more people (rather than just 1st, 2nd etc.) will be able to get a prize. I'll also make sure that a team of people are in charge of it, and not just a single person (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif) yer sorry about that hay guys, ive just been at school and stuff like that, sorry to let use down (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) yer this site is brilliant, i dont think u can make improvements on it to be honest, mike you have done a stunning job, and keep it up mate im sure this site will go far, and its by far the best milan site on the web (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

QUOTE (Nova @ Jan 31 2006, 01:06 PM) Maybe a cool intro page with a flash video ?? Don't think this would be a good idea either as once you've seen the animation once it would annoy you to see it everytime you come on this site.

I wouldn't like a member categorisation related to posts as mentioned. Color selection would be great!!!!The white one (if there is such) should be more red than the current one which is a bit pinky. news headlines with description under them as a link instead of being fully viewable (example/sorry,greek site but I hope you'll get what I mean) contra.grmore smileys would also be great. QUOTE (m1ke @ Jan 3 2006, 12:07 AM) For Milanfan v2, I'll write a proper guide showing how to upload your own avatar (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) that's nice too!!! intro page would be nice, with Lite version included, but what I'd really like is creating a milanfan exclusive symbol somehow related to Milan's instead of flash intro..we could work on that too!!! I'll post a suggestion!!!it could also be faded away at the background of every page!!!! also a ring or vibration of the open browser (like in MSN messenger) when something new is posted on the site would be really nice as right now we have to keep in mind refreshing the page every now and then. History of Milan and San Siro (link to official san siropage ) as well as top scorers, greatest players, retired numbers. A special Paolo Maldini section would also be great!!!! and Giuseppe Meazza info would be nice too..I actually didn't know who the guy was a while ago... WAP version would be great, but (I guess)it's not worth the fuss if not enough members are interested.I am though... I'd also really appreciate it if you could make it so that we are able to delete our own posts.. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Anyway thank you m1ke and mod team for what is a really great Milan site!!!!

QUOTE (novfan @ Feb 26 2006, 02:37 AM) How's about a page dedicated to streaming the games? Or instructing people how to stream the games? Esp. for those of use that are not that savvy with all the technical know-how. I think that'd be helpful. Otherwise this site is $$$$. I did have one of those on the forums but no one ever used it (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

I only drop in occassionally for news but I'm glad to see the activity level increase since I joined! It really is a very well done site Mike! I don't have anything new to add, just the rebrand to make it more readily apparent that it's a Milan site, more red and black, but heck, the URL does the job for me. Appears you have everything db'd so why not add some filtering/searching mechanisms for the news, results, match reports, etc. You info architecture is pretty darn good but it could be a great with the adddition of the lazy man's tools. mod_rewrite to pretty up the URLs for search engines would add eyes for the info you're publishing. Become a resource! No, THE resource (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

QUOTE (novfan @ Apr 10 2006, 06:24 PM) There should also be like a "MilanFan's Guide to Milan." That is, a Separate page dedicated to actually going to matches with some sort of user's guide on where/how to get tickets,* the best seats at the San Siro, best places/hostels to stay in the area, best bars/clubs/restaurants in the area etc...I think it would be helpful esp for those of us hoping to make it to a game someday. Maybe even plan a meeting at some point....(in the waaay distant future of course). *I just saw the contact info for the San Siro in the "Club" section which was helpful...so maybe this suggestion is a bit moot. I still think a "MilanFan's Guide to Milan" is a good idea though especially in light of Nova's experience. Many thanks for the suggestion novfan (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devil.gif) A feature like this (almost identical in fact) is already in the works. It will also allow Milanfan's to share their Milan trips with others, and review bits that may interest (their hotel, restaurants etc.)

QUOTE (adooooo @ Jul 26 2006, 06:27 PM) Now maybe it is to late to say something now but i´ll try anyway. Is it possible to make a restriction of the signature size. Something like, 300x100px or similar. Big signatures make the forum look really bad so it would have bin great if almost everyone had sigs that are at least about the same size. i have to agree with you although i would have to change mine. QUOTE (dst @ Jul 26 2006, 10:08 AM) Sigs we are starting to crack down on a bit more, some are enormous and for people on slower connections it's selfish having to load up a load of images when all they want to do is read some text. So as for now signatures which are inexplicably big will be removed with no prior warning, if replaced a temporary/permanent ban maybe enforced. New sig rules will come into place on the release of V2. There is no need to fill up half a page with a sig, just keep to common sense.

I like LaPalma...I mean I totally like his taste for Germany NT. If it weren't for them the Azzuri would never have made it to the final. LaPalma is also a very smart guy. He does his best to hide the fact that he has got this huuuuge thing for Grosso....and in his heart if hearts he'd prefer him in Milan.... LOL....if this doesn't get that icy german to explode nothing well. @LaPalma...just kidding bro...I hate u just as much as everyone else...I'm sorry but I gotta be a team player right (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
