QUOTE (Fillipo Simone @ Nov 27 2015, 10:18 PM) Any expectations? These days this forum looks more and more like a ghost town to me. Meh, even older and more popular communities have waned drastically over these past 3 or so years. I mean there's only so much a fan can take before his/her interest starts to go down the toilet. Even more so this season after we were made big promises, had a big budget in the summer that we saw wasted away on average players, were given a coach who was a lot less than we expected considering the supposed ambitions of the management and to now see us struggling once again in a replica of seasons past is just disheartening to even the biggest and most passionate of fans. QUOTE (William405 @ Nov 27 2015, 10:41 PM) Yep. Really not going online as I often did. For all forums even. :/
I expect a solid display and a win honestly. Bertolacci will be out, really sucks since he was improving his performances! I expect Miha to stick with the 4-3-3 given the available players. We'll see, Miha's decision making has been questionable at best this season

QUOTE (William405 @ Nov 28 2015, 09:23 PM) We're playing really well till now! (IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) awesome pressure Also, Niang has that special thing Han imo, just needs to be developed The end product is really lacking imo, but he obviously has skill, speed and strength, he'd be amazing if he managed to really apply himself

QUOTE (Nova @ Nov 28 2015, 11:28 PM) But let's be honest , Samp is playing lik cr@p Can't say no that! But, really that's a never ending argument (IMG: style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Are we forcing them to play bad by the constant pressure or are they just having a bad game? Anyway, what is clear is that we're applying ourselves on the field and we have confidence. Also, our defense looks great ^^

QUOTE (Nova @ Nov 28 2015, 09:28 PM) But let's be honest , Samp is playing lik cr@p At least we're taking advantage of these occasions, last season we would have simply lowered our performance to match theirs. And managed to lose or draw. I'm not saying we're great but if we can win the matches that we should be winning, I see no reason as to why we shouldn't at the very least make the EL next season QUOTE (milanbuf88 @ Nov 28 2015, 09:29 PM) It's important to be able to capitalize on these circumstances if we are going to have a shot at top 3. Agreed, don't know about top 3 but at least we should make top 5 if we win the games we should. Losing points against Torino, Genoa and Atalanta for me has been far more disappointing than the narrow losses against Inter, Juve and Fiorentina

Also, our defense looks great ^^ Agreed Also, it looks like we're playing a 4-4-2, not a 4-3-3 and it's working well atm. The fluidity of Niang and Bacca is really creating a lot of problems and Cerci and Bona are supporting them quite well. I have to admit I was against a 4-4-2 when x-off was suggesting it, but so far this season it's been the only formation that has really allowed us to dominate games.

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Nov 29 2015, 08:27 PM) Couldn't watch the game. Looks like we played well. Or was Samp just crap? Mixture of both imo. We pressed really well though so we forced them into a lot of errors as well. Hopefully it's a sign of things to come and not just another blimp

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Nov 29 2015, 08:57 PM) 4-4-2 seems to be clicking, though. I told you from the start it's the only way to go. And it'll get even better once Bertolacci recovers. If only we had a better winger than Cerci... Sorry for doubting you, oh great one (IMG: style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Hopefully the wing situation gets better once we have Menez back, not to mention Balo as well could be a huge boost. Niang is doing well atm but's always great to have more depth and options available. Cerci was at least useful against Samp, but he's just so painfully one dimensional, always goes for the same plays, same moves, just basically a one trick pony and doesn't even make that one trick look all that great QUOTE (nuh @ Nov 30 2015, 01:38 AM) I'm hoping it gets better once menez comes back, with new a quality midfielder. Agreed. And Berto was really starting to improve before he got injured, hopefully him and Monto can form some sort of partnership. Maybe we'll still go after Witsel this winter or someone similar, we'd be really strong in midfield if we had someone like him instead of Kucka. QUOTE (X-Offender @ Nov 30 2015, 01:55 AM) Our next three games before Christmas break are Carpi (A), Verona (H) and Frosinone (A). These are all absolute must-wins. If we do indeed win all three of them, then we'd have achieved a total of 7 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss in the last 9 games. In other words, our season would change. Let's see if the team can do that. Agreed, and in theory, if we play like we did on Saturday, there's no reason why we shouldn't. I was personally very impressed with how we pressed Samp so much, and not like we were doing at the beginning of the season running full speed ahead aimlessly like headless chickens after the ball and basically exhausting themselves by the 45th minute. But we pressed with purpose and force Samp into a lot of errors. That's what I want to see more of. I'm also very happy to finally see a CB partnership being forged. Romagnoli is really coming into his won, he's done very well nest to both Alex and Mexes in recent games, it's reassuring to know considering the injury issues both of the older CBs seem to have these days.

And it would be arrogant of us not to considering our current position and role in world football (which is basically non-existant) We've essentially become a mid-table team and yet we're turning our noses at the Coppa (one of our few chances at European football next season) and we're sending out our second string side when our first string can barely cut it on most nights. Just appalling and disgusting attitude from this club

Just appalling and disgusting attitude from this club With due respect Han, mid-table teams tend not to have the amount of money we have now with Mr Bee in charge, and considering how much we have spent in the summer, we should just look to aim for 4th at least
