ITALIAN SUPER CUP:
AC MILAN VS INTER MILAN
(IMG: http://media3.acmilan.com/uploads/news/images/pec12.jpg) August 6, 2011
Beijing, ChinaThis summer, the Italian Supercup - in which the Rossoneri have already secured their place by winning the Scudetto - is returning to the Far East: after the encounter between Lazio and Inter in 2009 (the Biancocelesti won 2-1), the trophy contested by the Serie A champions and the Italian Cup winners will be held in Beijing once again, on Saturday, 6 August 2011. The match between champions Milan and Cup winners Inter will take place in China’s National Stadium, the Bird’s Nest, the futuristic building constructed for the 2008 Olympics and a popular venue for international sporting events. The event will be organised by a Chinese company who will oversee all organisational aspects. All aspects of the agreement, which has been ratified by the Lega Serie A, were approved by the Italian Cultural Institute of Beijing and the Italian Embassy in China. Milan and Inter have never met in an Italian Supercup final before. (IMG: http://forzaitalianfootball.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/logo-inter-vs-Milan1.jpg)

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Jun 15 2011, 03:30 PM) I don't think so. Okay. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/innocent.gif) I'm pretty confident, though. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) And will be more so if Leo is still in charge up until that time. Sure, a lot may change from now till that day of the match, but I personally am not too worried. Having said that, I really do hope we win and get another trophy under the belt. A title is a title, no matter if it is the CL, Scudetto, or a bunch of smaller cups and trophies!

Don't you think it lost a bit of it's value during the few years? I mean, it's a SuperCup played far far away from Milan and Inter fans.

I don't like it. I remember the 2002 World Cup and all the bad cheering and fans not even close to "real" fans like in Europe, the Americas or Africa. Especially China is a problem for me, why would we need fans from up there?
Oh well, money is a good thing to have, I suppose it's the biggest reason.

Yep, pretty much the money. You'd be amazed at how much some teams earn from it, I think it was Inamoto who played a bit in the EPL and clubs were making a bomb out of him and he was certainly nothing special.

It means a lot for Rossoneri in China. It's the first time that we could watch an official match in China, and it's a Derby!

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Jul 1 2011, 10:05 PM) What about Inter-Lazio of two years ago? The actual attendence is over 70000. The ticket sales is around 77 milion yuan, which is over 8 million euros. Over 70 million people in China watched the match on TV.

(IMG: style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) And yes, I know how popular Milan is in the Far East and countries like China, Japan and more. Heck, people there went crazy when Paolo Maldini went to play Club World Cup there in 2007/08. I'd frankly have all the Italian Super Cups in different places to people get a chance to see the players live. Can't wait for August, I am sure this is going to be a great match, with epic atmosphere! QUOTE (MichaelXin @ Jul 2 2011, 08:12 AM) The actual attendence is over 70000. QUOTE (Jack Bauer @ Jul 24 2011, 09:18 PM) Yep. It's merda's choice though - maybe they don't take this game as seriously or just cocky. After last season they really don't have any reason to feel that way (IMG: style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Maybe the players requested a longer break before they started training again... Who knows

QUOTE (il_diavolo_mtl @ Aug 1 2011, 04:33 PM) Amelia
Abate - Thiago Silva - Nesta - Zambrotta
Van bommel Boatang...........................Emmaueleson
Ibra(roaming)
Robi.......Pato
Id's rather see Seedorf then Urby, we need someone who can keep the ball moving there, and Urby is not that type of player. Completely agree with you X-off, Rino cannot make it into that midfield or this will be one loooong game Boateng, VB, Seedorf for the midfield 3 please

QUOTE (han2503 @ Aug 1 2011, 09:59 PM) Boateng, VB, Seedorf for the midfield 3 please That midfield + 3 forwards vs a strong side like Inter, aren't we lacking defensive skill? Really a shame Flamini's out. I know Gattuso has been poor, but so has Boateng. Against Inter, when already 3 forwards and Seedorf on the pitch, I like Gattuso to start rather than Boateng. Even with Gattuso I wonder we're balanced enough since we play with 3 forwards.

Well, Seedorf can't do it like he did it only 2 or 3 years ago, but yes, I think that should and could work.

QUOTE (CHU-LIP @ Aug 1 2011, 11:24 PM) For some reason we can't. You posted a typical Leonardo line-up (bar the formation) that's good to lose with 4-0 to Inter, so has showed the past. I don't think so. Leonardo lost 3-0 to us with the same line-up Mourinho won the Champions League, and he also lost 5-2 to Schalke with the safe 4-3-1-2 formation. It's not much about the line-up, but about the mentality and the mechanisms that clicked within our game last season. It's time we displayed a more offensive attitude, otherwise we'll never exploit our progress. QUOTE (CHU-LIP @ Aug 1 2011, 11:24 PM) Your last sentence in that post has got a lot of irony. Because if there is one player that can put on a fight vs a top side it's Gattuso. Please tell me you're joking. QUOTE (CHU-LIP @ Aug 1 2011, 11:24 PM) I yet have to see Boateng being defensively strong. His tackling has been poor, so has his temper. No, no, no. As a trequartista he tracks back a lot and recovers many balls. He can do that job even better if he played in a more retreated position. His tackling might need some perfection, but compared to Gattuso's tackling nowadays, it's much better.

That's how all top European clubs play nowadays, and that's how we played under Ancelotti in the early years. Van Bommel, Boateng and Seedorf can provide the necessary cover. Not to mention Robinho tracks back a lot. What he said QUOTE (CHU-LIP @ Aug 1 2011, 09:24 PM) For some reason we can't. You posted a typical Leonardo line-up (bar the formation) that's good to lose with 4-0 to Inter, so has showed the past. Your last sentence in that post has got a lot of irony. Because if there is one player that can put on a fight vs a top side it's Gattuso. And I don't mean that literally. I yet have to see Boateng being defensively strong. His tackling has been poor, so has his temper. Gattuso is a much safer bet. Come on!! The problem under Leo wasn't the one DM (we played with Ambro and Flamini most of the time anyway), it was the entire crappy system that left us wide open to counter attacks. VB sitting in front of the defense is fine. Gattuso running around with no purpose won't help our cause. Boateng can cover his area and track back better then Rino cause he actually has the energy to do it, while as x-off said, Seedorf can do that as well as long as he's not over worked. Until we get a new mid in, Seedorf has to be starting, while Boateng should be playing in his natural position. We need players in there who will know how to keep the ball moving without losing it every couple of seconds, which is what kept happening in the recent friendlies when we plaed with that all utility midfield. Playing a midfield of Rino, VB and Ambro with Boateng behind the strikers is ridiculous on so many levels I wouldn't even know where to start, but I still wouldn't be surprised if Allegri went out with it

I'm aware of Gattuso's weaknesses, but this is just too ridiculous. You guys act like Boateng is the better defender of the two. And Boateng has been very poor in both pre-season and the end of last season. I know same can be told about Gattuso, but for some reason you guys only notice it when it comes to him and not Prince.
So Van Bommel should cover for a poor preforming Boateng who's tackling and temper is questionable + three forwards? And we never know what to expect from Seedorf, because if not fully motivateed, he's defensively the worst (when motivated, he does well in that actually). I know Gattuso's been poor too, but at least he's a proper tackler. And of course Seedorf needs to start, and it's not about over playing how he will preform. No, it's about whether he would be motivated (determined/focussed) or not.
Remember, we're playing a strong side with lots of dangerous attacking players. You should adapt to that, but for some reason most people like to go full attack even against the best sides in the world. Wow, that's a beautiful line-up (ignoring the defensive liability), it is each time.

No, it's about whether he would be motivated (determined/focussed) or not. For the nth time, that midfield is just fine. Stop fantasizing about nonexistent stuff. Boateng is better than Gattuso in every goddamn single aspect. Yes, I do believe that. Gattuso is an eyesore, he adds nothing to our game. His defensive capabilities have drastically declined. He's simply not a player to count on anymore. QUOTE (CHU-LIP @ Aug 2 2011, 12:36 AM) Remember, we're playing a strong side with lots of dangerous attacking players. Wow, that's a beautiful line-up (ignoring the defensive liability), it is each time. The fact we're playing a strong side is the reason why we should opt for an offensive line-up. We must impose our superiority to our opponent. Clearly you can't achieve that by playing with a midfield full of hard-workers. That's the reason we flopped against Tottenham in the first leg, because Allegri played a foolish Silva-Gattuso-Flamini midfield. However, in the second leg, we dominated Tottenham by imposing our game through a balanced yet offensive midfield consisting of Flamini, Seedorf and Boateng. That should be a lesson to Allegri if he wants to succeed in Europe.

QUOTE I seriously don't have one clue what you mean with that sentence. He's referring to a time at MF before you came... And well, we have to accept both positions - firstly, Rino and Ambro deteriorated evidently and we simply have to take that into account when we think of them. But secondly, they are still Milan players and one should not be treated as a mental problem if he suggests putting one of the two (god forbid both) in the starting line-up.

If it had to be 1 of the 2 then at this point I'd go for Ambro, Rino has just gotten that bad, talking about his tackling and defensive skills, he was the one that got repeatedly nutmegged by little Brazilian kids, not Boateng. Rino is just simply not up to the task any longer imo. Ambro isn't far from that either but I think currently, he's doing better then Rino and I would trust him more.
However, we have other mids that can step in since Flamini is injured and we can otp for a midfield that can actually keep the ball longer then 2 second and one that can actually link up play and support the attack.
Having said that, Allegri seems to favour Rino for some reason, so I'm pretty sure we'll see him starting

I don't know what did Gattuso in, maybe his last injury, but he hasn't been the old one for years. Ambrosini is the one that conducts himself better, and surprisingly, the better player of the two at the moment. He should definitely start, but like you said, it probably won't be the case.

(IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I'm not fond of either playing atm, but Rino is just completely off the pace imo. Even if I was never an Ambro admirer I can easily reckognise that atm he's the better pick of the 2 if 1 of them absolutely had to play QUOTE (Zed.D @ Aug 3 2011, 10:49 AM) ^ Yeah agreed (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) What Kurt said.. don't you remember the days you were Ambro's #1, um, critic while preferring Rino's more straightforward/simple style of play? EDIT: I know what you're going to reply! that Rino has so incredibly declined since then.(IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) You just answered that yourself Don't get me wrong I'm still a huge Rino fan, and I still believe completely that at their prime Ambro had nothing on Rino (don't even get me started on that debate (IMG: style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) ) But I just hate seeing this Rino making a fool of himself out there, he used to be one of the best DMs in Europe at one point, and I was one of his biggest fans, still am, so it pains me to see him playing now QUOTE (CHU-LIP @ Aug 3 2011, 11:22 AM) he still is I'm still not an admirer, I never liked his style, but like I said, at this point I'd trust him more then Rino if it came down to a situation where 1 of themhad to be picked

QUOTE (han2503 @ Aug 3 2011, 08:17 PM) Always am Big shot bragger. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) (IMG: style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Wait till the summer break ends, the grammer police will be back, baby, and on your tail. Enjoy while the fun lasts. Speaking of fun and breaks, I really can't wait for the Super Cup derby, and the start of the season. Man, I want my weekly dose of Milan matches. And CL nights, oh my! I just hope the championship begins soon. The start of the season up till the January break is my favorite part.

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Aug 3 2011, 08:14 PM) I wish Gattuso could at least cut his hair short. He looks like a homeless hobo as of now. (IMG: http://www.arenabola.com/data/3_7052_Gennaro_Gattuso.jpg) Much better. Bah, he looks like a harmless bum here. give me the beardy/hairy Rino any day. QUOTE (Fillipo Simone @ Aug 6 2011, 12:33 AM) Hahah...well...say what you want, but it's still ridiculous as hell Some people never believe! (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) (IMG: style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ Aug 6 2011, 12:53 AM) Judging by his face, he lost a bet or his parents forced him to have it. Agreed. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Seeing as this is a funny wallpaper, I'd say the second notion makes more sense, LOL. With one minor exception though - he is a she. Her father is probably asking the hair dresser to cut the kid's hair in Ronaldo's style and the little girl doesn't like it one bit.

I think that's borderline child abuse right there. Poor girl...
