Dida And Kalac Are Our Keepers Next Year – Galliani Milan Vice President Adriano Galliani has stated that Nelson Dida and Zeljko Kalac will still be the club’s goalkeepers next season. The Rossoneri have been heavily linked with a host of shot-stoppers in recent weeks following an error-prone campaign from Dida.
The Brazilian has been guilty of making a number of gaffes, most recently in the Milan derby before Christmas when he allowed Esteban Cambiasso to score the winner.
Number two ‘keeper Zeljko Kalac has also looked nervous when he has filled in for Dida, however the giant Australian was in brilliant form yesterday during the 1-0 win at Udinese, pulling off a string of stunning saves.
"Dida and Kalac will still be the goalkeepers of Milan next year, Galliani is quoted in the Corriere dello Sport.
“We are not looking for anyone else.â€
Milan had been expected to sell both Dida and Kalac at the end of the season, with Sebastien Frey, Artur Boruc, Gomes, and Marco Amelia linked as possible replacements.

Guys, relax! This is Galliani talking... I don't believe a word he speaks. And of course he wouldn't say that Dida is going to be replaced and make him even more insecure... Then again, don't be surprised if we don't get a new goalie... QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ Jan 21 2008, 08:35 PM) This is just getting stupid now. Winning the European Cup again this year will be the worst thing this club can do. Sad bad true... if we win we won't buy and for the sake of Milan's future it'd be better if we didn't...

QUOTE (zdrossoneri @ Jan 21 2008, 09:52 PM) Don't worry, we can't win the CL this year. Yes we can. But why do you say so?

QUOTE (aLbErTo @ Jan 21 2008, 11:28 PM) im one of those who defend dida...he's our man, he has to stay...everybody has a bad period, maybe his is a lit to long, but he has a great character in my opinion...it's hard cause gk mistakes are the most expellable...every kepper make mistakes, look at english one So we have to learn to live with Dida's blunders because England doesn't have a single world-class goalie!??

QUOTE (aLbErTo @ Jan 22 2008, 12:30 AM) hehe, no...but we have to step in dida's defence...he didn't have as much errors this year as last year, sure that against inter was big but what happend happend, i think he can still do big things in milan...u saw how good kalac saved yesterday, so if he's dida sub than...sure i would like to see a new gk, but has to be young so dida can have affect on him...maybe toldo-j.cesar can be an example to watch... Man, I love Dida. He has had great games with us and we have won 2 CL's and a Scudetto with him as a goalie. I respect him a lot. But he has to respect the team as well. He is now way too inconsistent for this level and if he cares for this team he should step down. I'm not saying Milan should kick him out just like that but a new first keeper is a must-get in my view.

Carson? He's made one mistake this season. Even Cech made two big mistakes that lead to goals this season. But Dida? It's been 2 or 3 years of constant mistakes, it's not good enough, not even close.

true, but media is kepping it to harsh on him, so is a lot of people here...as i was saying time ago...buying a new young bet good kepper(not average), like akinfeev(my strongest wish) or curci(maybe he has a bit to much to learn), handanovic has grown in a good kepper,or someone else, but he would have to be a sub for dida for at least half season in my opinion...for his own good and yes carson had one, but how big one !! (and this doesn't even matter) (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Gkers for any big club will give away 2-3 bad ones per year max if any. and how many amazing saves has he made this year? Yeah , you can blame sheva too for not scoring in the CL final against Liverpool in the dying minute. he had 2 great opportunities in 3 seconds and missed them all at 1 meter from the goal. I bet even Gila would have scored those (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) THAT cost us the CL final , but you didnt see any of the fans blame him. Why ? because the man won us many cups before and he has done a lot for Milan. Same goes for Dida. So if you wanna blame a player , dont just blame the ones you dont like.

Why ? because the man won us many cups before and he has done a lot for Milan. Same goes for Dida. So if you wanna blame a player , dont just blame the ones you dont like. First of all, what makes you think I don't like Dida? I like him as a person, much more than Ronaldo for example. but like many other Milan fans, I think his time at Milan has come to an end. the best team in the world deserves the best keeper in the world, or at least a consistent keeper. Dida is neither. And who in the world has said Sheva's missed opportunities cost us CL final? I would never say that because that's ridiculous. losing the Istanbul final was EVERYONE'S mistake and the whole team were to blame for that. [not to mention it started with Dida's mistake on Liverpool's first goal... (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) ]. I just wonder how immoderate some of you are in defending Dida. yes, he has done a lot for this club, god bless him! but he has made countless mistakes in the past two/three seasons, some of them have cost us badly. problems is that you don't feel safe with Dida in goal, you fear of another blunder anytime, he can ruin a whole team's effort in just one second [as he has done this many times - the most recent of them being the derby]. that's the worst thing about Dida and that's why many, including me, want him out. I'm sure another big mistake and he will be shown the exit door at the end of the season...

Gila missing a couple of chances did not cost us what Dida's mistakes have cost us in the past. At some points when Dida made blunders Gila wasn't even on the field!!! So how can you seriously say it's his fault?!! (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) And as a lot have said, I can't see how some here (not saying just you) still see it fit to criticise Gila for the fact that we have been sh!t this season when the blame should go to the entire team QUOTE (zdrossoneri @ Jan 22 2008, 02:04 PM) I just wonder how immoderate some of you are in defending Dida. yes, he has done a lot for this club, god bless him! but he has made countless mistakes in the past two/three seasons, some of them have cost us badly. problems is that you don't feel safe with Dida in goal, you fear of another blunder anytime, he can ruin a whole team's effort in just one second [as he has done this many times - the most recent of them being the derby]. that's the worst thing about Dida and that's why many, including me, want him out. Had Kaka not been having one of his magical days, we would have been out of the semi final last season since 2 of the goals Man U scored in Old Trafford were mainly his fault. And It's not that we hate Dida, it's the fact that we've had enough of his mistakes, mistakes that are costing the club dearly

As for Gila, thank God we have a striker who can score. Imagine having to rely on Pippo and Ronaldo to get us goals? Serie B here we come. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) But as we all know, it doesn't matter how many we score, Dida will still manage to f*ck it up. How else did Liverpool beat us in '05? (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

QUOTE (bigmacmtl @ Jan 22 2008, 10:45 PM) He is not a shitty keeper. He's still great but he consistently has concentration/confidence problems which means he can't play at this level anymore. We need a new keeper there is no doubt about that. If we don't get a new one then we are simply doing Dida a favor... and gifting ourselves another season of insecurity and defense problems.

QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ Jan 21 2008, 07:35 PM) Finishing 5th and not winning the CL is the only way this club will wake up and realise the obvious. Otherwise they'll continue to stick with a clown goalkeeper and continue to say they don't need new players as the ones they already have are good enough to be "European Champions". (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) You know I've thinking along those lines for sometime now. That's why whenever we lose these days, I kind of always take solace in " well at least that's the only way they will do something".
