QUOTE Milan, Berlusconi: "Ronaldinho impossibile. Eto'o? Eto'o? Non mettiamo limiti alla provvidenza...". http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/index.php?a...n=read&id=64379Basically Berlusconi says Ronaldinho is impossible as Laporta won't sell him. He joked about that "Barcelona president told me he would have to leave the country if he sells Ronaldinho." About Eto'o... who knows. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) He doesn't say "it's impossible". ****************************************************************** But Eto'o said yesterday the Milan-chapter was over with him. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Well, I don't know. He's italian. And a politician. It wouldn't be the first time he says "banana" and the other day "mango" about the same subject.

If there are any big names to be sign I assume it'll be Sheva, while I would prefer Villa. Don't see any problems with his physical conditon (just look at Pippo...he's not a strong guy either). He's young, proved that his worth in the CL and is IMO not worse than Eto'o.

The other big teams in Italy (well, Juve and the Merda) are signing big players, but they're also significantly in debt (see separate article in news re: Serie A debt). Fester's actually being fiscally responsible by not doing something that'd put the club into financial difficulty. Sure, Don Silvio could inject millions and millions into the club to shore up finances (as the Agnelli family did with Juve recently and as Moratti has done with the Merda), but even that wouldn't cover up a company that's operating at a loss. Also remember another big factor for Milan is wages. It's not a matter of affordability; it's the fact that there's an effective cap on salaries: the 'top stars' all earn the same amount, and that is NOT the case at any of the other big clubs.
So what does this mean for the transfer market? I honestly don't know. I'm holding out hope that Milan will sign /someone/ good. Realistically, though, it's quite possible they may not if the club management decides to not operate at a loss.

@jbryant1....one of the articles mentioned that the Sheva sale was the only reason we earned a profit. 1.6 mill if I'm not wrong.

Perfect. But if we get Gallas, then no Zambrotta for some time. But I don't see Gallas on the bench. And where does Kaladze go?

When was the last time we paid 'big' for world class. We payed relatively big for Gila two years ago , but it was always a gamble. Before that, there were Rui Costa and Pippo in 2001 and Nesta in 2002. It's not our style to pay crazy sums like Madrid and Chelsea. Milan would rather find someone good who they can bring for cheap like Ronaldo or Seedorf. But if so, the world class promise just gives false hopes to the fans. Last year he promised a 'surprise' which gave some hope despite the mess we were involved in. Of course we have planty of time and we gonna strengthen the squad with few players for sure , but I just have the idea that Milan board think that we have a strong enough team to win the league. we don't. To win the CL you need experience and we have that. Too much. But to win the league you need stability and motivation. Many our players don't have enough motivation (they won it all already. Seedorf won't run if it's not United or Bayern and you have these big games mostly in spring. Pirlo finds his form too late. You can't trust on Pippo anymore untill big games too..), and our squad is more injury prone due to his age which make it harder to maintain stability. We won the league two times in the last 11-12 years and for a team like Milan it's unaccepted (again CL it's different. Maybe Liverpool can aforf not to win the league but to make it to the last stages of the CL. But Milan isn't Liverpool. we are at least one lever higher. I just think we need to drop some of the old or weak players like Serginho, Cafu, Simic, Brocchi, Oli, Borri... and to bring a few hungry and motivated players who can add more balance to the team. I think Inter is more prepared for the Serie A and would have won it even with us starting without all the scandal mess. Just a few thoughts (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) Hope i'm just exaggerating and we ganna sign somebody big soon.

He's so good...Benfica will sign him up in a flash...or even ur precious Madrid.(IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) But seriously...I'd love Gallas, but then Bonera goes to waste. Gallas is just too much quality to be not first choice. Kaladze is staying.

Just a few thoughts (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) Hope i'm just exaggerating and we ganna sign somebody big soon. Honestly, I think you said everything right. We have to win the scudetto back...we simply have to, now that Inter paced up,...I mean, guys, I wanna see the second star above our badge.. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devil.gif) Now, the season stayed in our memories for winning the CL. But I remember the chaos against Roma as well. And some really bad, shamefull preformances in the league... But really - the only thing that bothers me is the attitude of our board. I really do fear that they see our squad as "covered in all positions" and that they only have to buy a eventual bonus player, like R20 or Sheva. That is unacceptable for me,...and somehow, I got the feeling really noone at Milan even plans on scouting for young talents in EE, Africa, SA or even Asia. If thats the case, we are in a sad position. As for Galliani, it really seems he is a reasonable man that makes the clubs finances and incomes organized and stable. We need a defensive alternative. With Oddo who made a pretty fair season and both Cafu and Å imić staying, I dont see a new RB comming. The left is also filled with Serginho, Janku and Kala. So that leaves us to the fact that we either have to sell someone or we`ve to forget any new defender (thus I would be amazed with Gallas or Zambro) Attack and midfield leave us the only transfet possibilities. Carletto has been praying long for a decent DM. Seems that he wont get him so soon,... (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

As I always said we need some fresh blood in our squad. I love our old players but they just can't give their best in every game anymore. As you say, Inter is much better prepared for the league than we are. I think the last season showed us all how weak our subs are if we need them. And as I said it last season, our first squad is world class and can beat every team (CL showed that (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) ), but not with the same players twice a weak...

Ah sod him, overrated so much, wouldn't say no to Toure but this guy is a joke - the person who said he would score own goals if he wasn't allowed to leave Stamford Bridge and some people complain about Sheva's loyalty on here (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) The big signing will be Andriy I'm pretty sure of that now.

Not the best of news, really, given his age and recent form, but...well, much as I've lost respect for the man after the Chelsea jersey-kissing incident and the way he left Milan, the footballer is still supremely talented. We could do worse.

QUOTE (mishale @ Jun 25 2007, 10:07 PM) Plus Cheksea usually don't ask too much money when they are selling players (Crespo). Chelsea dont sell their players, they torture their players with loans. Crespo for example... If we get Sheva, it will be a loan, which is very unlike - nobody would profit from that kind of deal. The only thing I know by now is that Barca is really back in business with Henry and Chivu signed and Gaucho and Eto`o staying... It seems that the tough thing is that times are a changin right? 20 years ago players didn't make 20 million euros in a season and clubs made a fraction of what they are making. But now Milan is making astronomical profits and competes with other organizations for talent and rights. No matter what we were ranked 3rd on the highest gross profits, Its really a bunch of excuses and we have Schevas 20 million pounds that didn't go anywhere. The game has evolved into a competition between clubs for sponsorships, image rights, and players who bring in ticket sales. The money and stakes are higher than they've ever been and theres a huge competition. Real Madrid pretty much evolved the sport to this business sense with the Galaticos and the big name transactions. Those transactions are the norm now. Its like with CEO's making the money they do and even in America professional sports athletes= big money. The game has evolved into what we see here with the NFL(american football), NBA(basketball), and MLB(baseball). Inter and Juventus have evolved into this because they have to at this point to remain competitive. I just hope holding onto these old players lasts. I agree with drop some of the old players. This is the key ingredient we've been talking about. They rarely do anything and there could be the next generation of players on the bench, hungry to make their next appearance. We collect these guys like fossils. Maybe the Karma is what wins us championships. Karma and Kaka.

QUOTE (zdrossoneri @ Jun 26 2007, 09:19 PM) Looks like Tevez wants Inter move too. they're beginning to get on my nervous. what the fvck are they gonna do with all these great striker? Adriano / Suazo / Crespo / Zlatan / Cruz / Recoba / and now TEVEZ... Shame on your greed, Moratti! 7 top strikers.....that is ridiculous! Even if Recoba isn't top notch anymore and they ditch Adriano they will still have 5 if Tevez comes. We only really have 3 at the moment! No disrespect to Oli, but you can't deny his first season at Milan was a disappointment. This may be unpopular but hopefully Moratti may be prepared to part with Zlatan if they get Tevez. I know others may not agree, but I would love to see Zlatan at Milan. Highly debatle as to whether Moratti would sell him though, and even if he did there's a good chance he would sell him to anyone but Milan.

I know... one thing I've learned is that every good thing Inter offer to their fans is followed by 10 bad things... I just doubt it will happen next season. I'm not happy to see us resting on our laurels! We won the Champions League OK... we all know how great a feat that is. We all respect every single member of the team that made it to the top... but we have to look to the future too! I just hope they prove me wrong before this transfer window closes cause I'm tired of listening to comments such as "we're fine as we are now"...

I`m pretty sure that the big surprise, the so called mystery man was either Henry or Etoo or Suazo,...someone who we already lost. Our squad has much more problems and week links then mentioned: 1) Injury prone players - a long list - Maldini, Nesta, Ambro, and most of all Pippo and Ronaldo. And this is what I fear most of, and I think it will eventually happen - R99 and Pippo getting injuried at the same time, so that we stay only at Gilardino whom I dont trust to score against any team above the quality of Udinese. Also, we get pretty shaky if Nesta would be injured. 2) Our midfield subs suck...all of them. Gourci is too green and can`t do anything special, Brocchi is really horrible. It makes me a headache. Who can step in?? We have noone left?! This is my main concerne... (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) 3) Our fullbacks dont give us the open and wide, offensive option any more. I like the long runs of our LBs and RBs, but it seems to me everything is turned up side down: Sergio and Cafu, offensive-wise players, are not that fast any more so their prime plus is now off; while Oddo and Janku have the strenght but not the skill needed. Janku can`t cross that good, and Oddo, well Oddo you can`t even watch when he crosses... So someone who can run miles and miles up and down must come in... 4) Aerial defense: that department stayed unsolved since Stam went off...We simply need a strong defender! And what bothers me most is that I really dont see any initiative from our board. It seems they have not learned anything from last year. Instead of waste time that is limited by trying to lure impossible players (We simply cant play the game dirty like Real or Chelski do. And it seems that our old fashioned, donnish way really cant succeed) and dream of things that cant be done, we should be down to earth and bring up three, four or even five new talented and quality players avaible. We should show more interest in younger and not well known players. Last season we signed Favalli, Oli, R99 and Oddo. With every of does players, except Gourci who was really a surprise for me, we didnt really know what we got. With Oli we didnt get much, with Favalli we just got lucky. Ronaldo is class, Oddo, well, he adapted fast, thats his best thing. And what now? Should we wait to see if we get lucky with Ibrahim Ba just like Favalli? What next season then? Should we then sign Giuseppe Cardone and Gianni Comandini as well and hope we`ll be lucky with them too?

Possibly hopeful news: [Barca will put Eto'o on the market in the next few days. Milan is ready to make an offer and has 35 million set aside.

I dunno, it certainly makes it awefully difficult with this whole wage issue. I would have loved us to go after some young talent also. It would be the perfect time to mix some talented youth in amongst a very well drilled, experienced and brilliant side. Perfect place for them to learn the trade. I thought we might bring in some dutch talent. Definitely alot of 'weak links' we have. Its alright for europe cause ancelotti prepares us perfectly for it. But its hard to be prepared for 38 games in the league plus the other matches we have this season. To be honest we have no chance of competing strongly in all, and right now I tend to agree that inter will run away with the scudetto again. Not because there a better side, by no means, just because they have great depth. Guess thats why they have such a huge debt. QUOTE (Fillipo Simone @ Jun 26 2007, 07:08 PM) I`m pretty sure that the big surprise, the so called mystery man was either Henry or Etoo or Suazo,...someone who we already lost. Excellent post (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif) P.S. I'm sure the managment already know this, as they work with this team closer than any of us ... But Comandini would be nice (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

You don't want the wrath of the God cost upon you now, am I wrong? Rephrase. IMMEDIATELY!! Other than that, great post!! Barcelona can't be asking for 40m for a player THEY want to let go... (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Well, whatever... The whole salary and taxes issue is a joke in my opinion! If Milan really want someone, they can have him no matter what...

I can't remember the last time something like that happened.
