Paolo Maldini came back on the eight point penalty inflicted on Milan and the difficult task of catching up with the league leaders: "Right now it's hard to imagine us having a great Serie A season. The league is the longest competition, it's true that there is more time to catch up, but remember we started with the -8 point handicap. The best thing is to concentrate on the teams nearest to us and think game after game."
The Rossoneri captain then was asked about why he thinks players are getting injured so easily of late at Milan: "What does it depend on? I'm not sure, there may be several reasons, but it may just be casual. Situations like this can happen after a World Cup, but there have been injuries also to players who did not play there. So this theory doesn't hold. I don't think there is one particular reason, some seasons are just unfortunate."
He then spoke about his own physical condition: "I am fine, I'm training all the time. This season I've always been available, except for the games against Chievo and Parma. My intention is to play as much as possible this season."
