AC Milan are set to step up their bid to sign Ronaldo from Real Madrid later this week.

According to Spanish daily AS, the Italian giants will move for the chubby Galactico if they qualify for the Champions League group stages on Tuesday night.

The Rossoneri take a 1-0 lead into the second leg of their qualifier against Crvena Zvezda in Belgrade.

And if they prevail, signing Ronaldo will become their number-one priority on Wednesday.

Ronaldo has already had one spell at the San Siro, starring for Inter Milan from 1997 to 2002 before leaving acrimoniously for Madrid.

Milan only have two front-line strikers after the departure of Andriy Shevchenko to Chelsea - Filippo Inzaghi and Alberto Gilardino.

And the arrival of Ronaldo would be a massive pre-season boost for Carlo Ancelotti.

The one problem for Milan in sealing a deal could be Madrid's desire to take another Brazilian - midfield superstar Kaka - away from the San Siro.

New Bernabeu president Ramon Calderon said during his election campaign that he'd sign Kaka if successful, but so far he's been unable to deliver on that boast.

The player recently signed a new contract with the Rossoneri, but Calderon could play hardball and demand Kaka as part of any deal for Ronaldo

When Capello said he is not coming, it means he is NOT coming!

I think you're riht, we lose out on Sobis, Tevez would like to go to England as his first option we are his THIRD option (since when have Milan become second best in what they do?). What the hell does Silvio want FatNaldo for, he isn't even good for the marketing aspect, because people don't see him as a great player anymore just the poster child for Mc Donalds. I think Everyone from our management needs to get their heads examined

Heck, Han!!! You know better ... impatience is driving you mad.If, come Wednesday morning or maybe 1st of September, Milan have not signed no great stuff then say all you want!!
And since when do reporters know Tevez's preferable options??? For all I know THEY should have their heads examined!!!

I don't want no stars, I don't want the big names, I just want good football players.
I hope you're right dst and the board is just waiting until Wednesday when we're (hopefully) qualified for the CL.

We all know that Chelsea would be the first option, I'm not saying that it would be HIS first option but because of the ties his current club have with Abramovic.

At first I was very impatient, then after the Ibra going to Inter thing I sort of got faith again that they really had someone that copuld be good enough to replace sheva, but with this whole thing with Sobis, which seems to be getting more clearer that he ain't comin I'm starting to think that they are really after Ronaldo, just so they could say they gor Ronaldo (which I think is all Silvio's doing). If they really want Ronaldo that bad somebody should send them some tapes of the last 2 seasons of La Liga and the world cup, maybe that would straighten them up.
