I'm sure Carlo will put up the first line up this time seeing we started with the second squad against Atletico.

Does anybody know if they'll show this game on any of the mediaset channels?

Is anyone going to see this game?

I would use Foggia as much as possible in the pre-season matches. He is fantastic player who needs to develop, so get him on the pitch in matches where he can afford to make mistakes.

LA GIORNATA DELLA SQUADRA
13/08/2006

Seems like Gourcuff has left the squad to join the France under 21 team...

Hope he is not gonna get injured!

A disposizione: Dida, Astori, Vogel, Jankulovski, Brocchi, Foggia, Amoroso, Borriello.

Vogel both in the starting line-up as well as on the bench. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) While Seedorf and Ambrosini aren't even in the squad... Seems a bit strange to me, something's wrong with that.

I love Ambro especially because he's a great player that never whine when he's being put on the bench. He's a pure professional and he's stayed with Milan for many, many years even though he's had offers from both Juventus and Real Madrid. People always say that it's so amazing that Maldini has stayed with Milan for so long(which it is), but how hard is it to stay with a club that's one of the best in the world when you've been guaranteed a first team place for 18 years?
Compare that to almost 10 years with 15-20 Serie A-appearences a year, almost always being forced to stand back in favor of another champion, even though you were one of Italy's most talented midfielders when you barrived to Milan(as in Ambro's case).
Compare Ambro to Gattuso(who many Milanisti loves). Gattuso was thinking about leaving Milan after the Istanbul-debacle and went out in the press saying he wanted a Man U-move. That same Gattuso who couldn't stand sitting on the bench for 5 games last season when Ambro actually were better than him(before he got injured, again (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) ).
Ambro has well deserved his title as assistent captain, even though players like Costacurta and Sheva have been honoured with the same title...

First half, I think Milan played very well, the only flaw was Copolla's lack of experience. Plus Deportivo were playing a closed game, lot of fouls and no space ..

QUOTE (Portugal @ Aug 13 2006, 09:39 PM)
It seems we're gonna loose this one.

77min, still 2-1 for them.

Ohh men... Milan should should better get Torres or Ronaldo before we mess up even in bigger competitions Also Milan should get about two good defenders. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

Gol Depor 3-1. What a shame, against a ridiculous team like the today's Depor.

Who's bright idea was it to get Coppola again? I'm sure that if Dida was playing only the first goal would have gone in and that's also partly his fault because ha came out early.

Coppola = b/s.

Just like Kalac... we def' need a new keeper. A sub for Dida. A decent one.

The 3-1 scoreline doesn't show anything since we mostly dominated them, they scored 3 goals that could have been saved if a decent keeper was playing for us, the 1st goal he left the net totally empty, the second and the 3rd where simply bad positioning from him.

The only reason why we couldn't score was because they where closing down a lot and where making a lot of fouls also, especially in the first half (at least that's what I heard from what people said here because I missed almost all of the first half)

Why Carlo doesn't play Foggia as our seconda punta I don't know, but why keep insisting on playing 2 CF together? Foggia again didn't have enough time to play but he made some nice dribbles and is very fast which is something we definately need.

BTW liked what I saw from Kaka, he seems to be getting back into shape, Gila is my only concern he was a bit invisable (at least in the part of the match I caught), I think Carlo should have took him off earlier since he didn't seem up for it especially after that bad tackle from behind and that collision with the Depo keeper.

Carlo did something today .. Many of you have talked about moving Pirlo upfront and giving him more space. Well Carlo brought in Broochi to cover for Pirlo ..

At some point Pirlo was on the 18-yard line and on the left wing. He wasn't as effective as when he was on the craddle of our defence. I mean Pirlo was being cut off more than he was able to dictate the play. Now I dont know about match fitness, but I'm guessing he already is fit enough to start the season.

This was just a friendly and if you lose a friendly doesn't mean you'll fail the entire season. Plus we're still not in our 100% form. This match was just a warm-up for the Champions League preliminary against Red Star, the result is not important. + the goals were all fault of the keeper. Our defence did just fine.
