QUOTE (Rossoneri7 @ Jul 10 2007, 12:28 PM) Nop, I would have Pato or Rossi as subs, even then I wont be too happy. Cuz I would feel much better with experience on the bench, i.e. Pippo So you don't consider Pippo to be a great sub? (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) QUOTE (Jack Sparrow @ Jul 10 2007, 02:04 PM) Well..maybe it's me...but I'm not gonna be over the moon just coz somebody did well for Parma. It hardly acts as a precursor as we've seen. Buffon turned out to be pretty bad too, huh?

He was surely not impressive in the EPL but that means nothing. Even Shevchenko has been nothing sort of awful there... but the nature of the two leagues is way different and Rossi proved that only recently. He was very good at Parma and they are in the Serie A, not the EPL...

QUOTE Viola join Rossi race
Fiorentina officials are in England to table a bid for Manchester United’s Azzurrini starlet Giuseppe Rossi, according to Italian Press reports.
Since selling Luca Toni to Bayern Munich for £7.5m, the Viola have been searching for a new high-profile hitman before the new campaign gets underway.
Rossi has become a wanted man since spending an impressive spell on loan to Parma last season and a bidding war is set to begin.
The Ducali have expressed their intention to bring the USA-born marksman back to the Stadio Tardini, but Milan are also interested and now it seems the Tuscans are ready to invest heavily in the 20-year-old.
Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino is reportedly ready to offer £8m with Rossi netting around £800,000 per season as a starting salary.
Manchester United have set £10m as their asking price, but are likely to accept the Gigliati’s proposal as it is thought to dwarf Parma’s effort while Milan are yet to make any approach. http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/jul10f.htmlGalliani!! QUOTE (pKillerMax @ Jul 10 2007, 12:46 PM) Seriously, should we all base our judgment on Gila's failure with Milan? Bonera turned out great BTW, and he was a Parma player also. Well, in fact eventual "mistake" we made with Gila is applicable. Bonera? I wouldn`t call him a great BTW, I don`t see any crucial difference between him and Å imić, they are both balanced players who can do well, but also can be responsible for loosing a match. Judging on one season, wich I would evaluate with a -C and nothing more. So Gilas "failiure" indicates more then Boneras "success". But it is right that no record of Rossi is especially impressing. So with him, we can only hope that he: a) is really a big talent who only waits for his blooming at a regular age, not like Messi or some instant stars in the teenage years; and (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) will be another example of how the climate at Milan abstracts only positive qualitys of every player and makes the best out of it. QUOTE He was surely not impressive in the EPL but that means nothing. Even Shevchenko has been nothing sort of awful there... but the nature of the two leagues is way different and Rossi proved that only recently. He was very good at Parma and they are in the Serie A, not the EPL... Exactly. I would go even further to conclude that failing in the EPL for a non-english striker is only a plus recommendation for the SA. Sheva, Crespo, Forlan, Morientes, etc. QUOTE Buffon turned out to be pretty bad too, huh? No purpose of even comparing the two Parma generations. The 1995 Parma generation was a gold one, with every single player having his on value and importance. This Parma is a bottom-table team with the simple goal of avoiding relegation, and two to three nice individuals,.. QUOTE Buffon turned out to be pretty bad too, huh? Definitely. Son of a b1tch's probably saved Juve from us quite a few times hasn't he. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) I meant for Milan. Gila's been so-so. And Bonera hasn't been the walk in Stam replacement I expected. So let's not even talk about a passable Paolo successor at CB.

Why does everybody here think so highly of Stam?? The guy was rock-hard and a formidable air cover but he was way too bumbling for my likes... I always liked him but his name always comes up when we talk about the defense as if he's irreplaceable... maybe it is because we've conceded one too many goals from free-kick situations...
Back on topic: I think Rossi would be a good signing for the future. But we'd still need a proven scorer even if we did got him. I'd rather have Pato though... that's probably because apart from Baggio and Totti, I never really liked Italian forwards but that's just me.

He was a rock. He had a great character, he was a fighter, he was brilliant! I loved him,.. QUOTE (Fillipo Simone @ Jul 10 2007, 09:04 PM) Beppe Signori and Marco Simone, do you like them?? I liked the former in his Lazio days... well, what I can recall from it... and the latter is a Milan great so yes I like them but neither of them was truly of my taste... I'm kinda fastidious when it comes to forwards anyway; I only really like Shevchenko from those I've seen a lot and MVB from what I've watched on video...

I know this'll be sacrilege to some here, but aside from Pippo, the only other Milan striker I've /really/ liked has been Van Basten.

Experience isn't something u learn in a day (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Stam is a star in the middle of the defense. Bonera, Barzagli, etc etc .. Average, when compared to Stam. And about Paolo's successor .. There will be a replacment as there will be a new captain, but there will never be a successor (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif) Well, Gila, I ain't a fan of .. But the prospect of both R10 and Kaka' feeding him, will no doubt get him working harder (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devil.gif)
