QUOTE (whoarethepatriots @ Jun 7 2007, 12:58 PM) About the Totti issue, he played neither as a striker or a Midfielder, yet was top scorer, and played in the striker position even though he didnt act like a conventional striker His origional position is as a midfielder so i consider him more that than striker Roma are special in my eyes as they genereally do not play a striker, their attacking 4 do the damage and they are shapeless, constantly changing positions, difficult to defend against Roma plays in a 4-5-1 (4-3-3). The difference is that that "1" is Totti and not a pure-inbox striker. Totti best position IMHO is SS. Not pure-striker, nor AMC. They just miss a great RW (Taddei is far away from that. Whilhelmsson is nice but didn't adapt to the calcio, at least for now). --------Totti--------- Mancini-----RW---- Then you've a strong midfield, quick and with tecnique: Perrotta, David Pizarro, De Rossi, Aquilani. That's why they're amazing playing on counter-attack. All their players are quick. Well, Totti is not that quick but he doesn't need to...

If Quaresma is moving to Serie A...he better come to Milan. I'd break his legs otherwise. I put that female dog on my fav Portuguese player position...after taking Rui off....if he goes elsewhere...I'll kill that ungrateful gypsy ****...

Er. Which language version of goal.com? Goal is...informative, but they get their information (at least as regards Italy and Serie A) from a variety of sources, not all of whom are reliable. I don't recall hearing/reading any Ambro transfer rumors recently, though. Though apparently Barca are putting in a bid to get Chivu before Inter can seal their deal. And Buffon has renewed with Juve. The only bit I could find about Ambrosini is an article dated June 5 on a website for Fiorentina fans. It indicates that the Viola are interested in a physical DM like Ambro but that even though Fiorentina have followed him with interest for a number of years, Ambro wants to stay with Milan. link

QUOTE (pKillerMax @ Jun 7 2007, 06:04 PM) I wish Quaresma filled that RW position for them. Just imagine how much fun to watch they would become. I know you are not a big fan of him porty, but you got to admit, he's got the pace and the technique to adapt to Roma's playing style, unlike Taddei who lacks pace or Willhemson who is too weak for Calcio. Quaresma is too cocky to play for a team like Roma. He'll never trade Porto for them. QUOTE (Jack Sparrow @ Jun 7 2007, 06:08 PM) If Quaresma is moving to Serie A...he better come to Milan. No, I doubt he comes to Serie A, and if that happens it's to Juventus or Inter. But yet again, it's not like "Im not a big fan" of him. It's that he's simply not consistent and sometimes not motivated for the job. He's one of the best down here but, again, Simão is better (much more consistent) and underrated just because he's no "tricky pony" like C.Ronaldo or Quaresma. Same with Nani. He's not as "pony" as C.Ronaldo or Quaresma. Another problem of Quaresma is that he can only be a winger. RW or LW. He can't play as AMC or SS like C.Ronaldo or Simão.

Montella and Nonda have been loaned out, Mido was sold before the season. They loaned in Vucinic and Tavano since they have so little, but they're not real great goalscorers. He's probably more of an SS than just an attacking midfielder, but clearly not an out and out striker.

QUOTE Mexes signs Roma pact Friday 8 June, 2007
Philippe Mexes has ended speculation over his future by extending his deal with Roma until June 2011. Chivu is the real deal anyway... too bad for us he's set join the merda. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Fiorentina have signed Levski Sofia goalkeeper Nikolay Mikhailov!! Those guys have snapped up 7 or 8 youngsters so far!

QUOTE Chivu silences transfer talkSaturday 9 June, 2007Cristian Chivu is sick of all the speculation of imminent moves to Inter, Barcelona or Madrid and insists he is only negotiating with Roma. Contract talks are not going well and various newspapers in Italy and Europe have announced a ‘done deal’ with several different sides. “None of the transfers that been attributed to me are real,†assured the defender in an interview with the Reuters news agency. “I am a Roma player for another year and at this moment in time we are trying to find a way to extend my rapport with the club.†The latest reports had Barcelona intercepting Inter’s bid (Walter Samuel, cash plus the other half of David Pizarro’s contract) with an offer of £8.8m and Brazilian star Cicinho. “In the past year the media have attributed my future to a different club every day,†sighed the Romanian. “None of it is true. I am only negotiating with Roma for my contract extension and have not spoken to any other sides.†Philippe Mexes was also widely expected to walk away this summer, but he put pen to paper on a new deal tying him to the Giallorossi until June 2011. channel4 Time will tell... I think he'll stay for at least one more season.
