anyways we cant just look at this like a good result, the fact is man put so much pressure on us and so many chances that they could have score 7 goals like against roma... so if they get a lil luck at the san siro we're done.
*

We have a two goal cushion, but Milan shouldn't concede a single goal ! We need Pippo Inzaghi at the San Siro, that is who we need.

United were playing dirty and committing a lot of fouls ... I mean Gattuso getting injured ?! Give me a break !!!

I do! Thank you...

There are other qualities that make a captain... if it was just running and giving everything you've got then maybe Ambrosini or Brocchi could be captain...  (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

You've got to be joking me right now... Can't you see how f@cking important he is to our team? The minute he stepped out of the game, we became inferior to Man U. This is a fact. Just running around? You're messing with my head here aren't you? Gattuso has matured so much as a player... His tackles are vital. His runs destruct any team. His marking is second to none... F@ck Brocchi can't even touch him!

As soon as Maldini & Gattuso went off Man Spew ran riot through our midfield, they pressured us constantly & we gave up possession needlessly so many times I lost count.
That last goal by Rooney, although it was good strike, should have really been covered by Dida, considering where Rooney was Dida should have positioned himself more towards the inside post. I think it's 50/50 in my mind whether it was necessary for Dida to come out for the first goal.
Gilardino, did you play at all? Were you on the field?
Thank God for Kaka. Although i'm personally getting a bit tired of him having to win games on his own without a Sheva like striker to support him. Lets face Gila does not cut it at this level.

anyways look at milan record recently in cup matches... we conceed goals at baddd times and cant defend at home: diarra levels aggr. and we get thru to stoppage time heropics, we lose 1-0 to barca at home, we're up 2-0 at and give two goals to roma, allow 2 goals vs. bayern at home and now this... do we see a trend? obviously we still have a shot doing it but nesta is going to have to be amazing again for us to get a clean sheet... and i just laugh at how some think bonera is the future of our defence.... the guys is fucking lost and cant deal anything more than ascoli or messina.

it's definitely not over yet...if we can go to bayern and win 2-0 then we can at least pull of a 1-0 win to draw it to extra time.

Nop. We just need 1-0. It would be 3-3 but we'd go trought with away goals. No extra-time.

And about that goal, it was coming directly towards goal, while he wasn't expecting it. He tried to push it above the pole, but it went in. Fate.

You know what I'm saying, he reacted well to the header but he should have remained on the goal line or make a real ejection...

Yeah so much that he didn't save enough energy to train with the team yesterday... (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Did you know that?? It's on acmilan.com... he was exhausted and he trained alone... I told you he was running like an idiot the other day while there was no reason. It's one thing giving everything you've got for the team and being important and another being a captain... there's a big difference between the two!!

Rino Gattuso suffered a knock to the sole of his foot and left the field due to the pain. However, things are looking optimistic in regards to his condition and for his recovery for Milan-Manchester. He should be there for the return leg at the San Siro. Paolo Maldini’s situation will be evaluated. Patrice Evra will not be able to play because he received a second yellow card tonight and will be suspended for the second leg.

good news about gattuso, i'll be damned if bonera has to play next week.

Yeah a real ejection, but he was going towards the ball. He was trying to close in, clearly there was chaos ..

Usually teams test each other in the first 8 to 10 minutes of the game, but United came at us and a goal in the 5th min is what calmed United down ... So I guess it was that goal that allowed Milan to play at a slow tempo and dictate 2 goals ... I guess Milan and Dida play better when they are under pressure (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Hopefully this serves us as a lesson for the next match

it's not a 2 goal cushion, it's more like we have to go out and win the game... which is going to be hard because our full backs cant go forwrad because they're afraid to get caught, words cant describe how useless and invisible gila is (pippo will have to start), and ball winners like ambro and brocchi that cant win the ball hold and give it away. on the other hand we have kaka (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif) , nesta, probably gattuso and pirlo is warming up and hopfully captain maldini will be back... all i know is that we can play with 1 striker cuz we're going to create nothing. sure dida made some great saves but if theres anything consistant about dida it's that he'll always manage to give a weak goal or two and we cant afford that.

If anyone, Maldini and Gattuso were real blows for Milan and the moral of the team, especially loosing them at a semi final, an away game. The team does shake ... Nevertheless, our fullbacks were clearly busy marking CR and Giggs, that was very evident from the first half. I think Carlo gave them strict guidelines to concentrate on defending the left and right sides of our half.

Our game, always was through the middle, if we had played wide, we would have lost as Roma lost. There is still another leg, as I said it could go both ways, and if Milan have Maldini and Gattuso in the starting XI, then the team would have a chance of going through. Without them, God only knows.

Great argument... (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

We're talking about whether or not he's the right one, not if he is in fact...

Nesta should be the one in my view.

What is your argument? He works too hard? He gives his all? He was tired and couldn't train with the team? Ok, Maldini's leg's have failed him so far this season, but he still plays.... Sometimes you could say that works against us like today where he had to be subbed. Does that make him any less of a captain? No. Here's your argument.

A captain does NOT get a yellow card like the one Gattuso got in the game at Ascoli and a captain does not get into silly fights in the opposition's wall... That's only from the last two games... When there's such an important game like this one you can't be running around all over the place when there is no freaking reason!

Can't you see the bloody difference? Maldini has a problem with his knees and that's holding him back while Gattuso was 100% fit and got tired while he could have saved some energy... (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

I agree on that Maldini's fitness is a constant bother but being the captain of this team is something he has won with his presence in the last 20 years and can't be taken away just like that. You are comparing two entirely different personalities and you ain't gonna prove nothing doing that. Try telling me why Rino should be captain instead... and then tell me why Nesta shouldn't.

Maldini has a physical problem... Gattuso too, he has a faulty brain!
