QUOTE Zaccardo still a believerWednesday 18 April, 2007Cristian Zaccardo insists Palermo can still fight for a place in next season’s Champions League despite their slump in form. The Sicilian outfit were stripped of their fourth place by Milan at the weekend after throwing away a 2-0 lead at Inter, but the defender is remaining positive. “We are aware that we are not favourites anymore to finish in the top four,†said the stopper. “However, we do not intend to give up. “There are six matches before the end of the season and they will be like six Finals for us,†added the World Cup winner. “The 2-2 draw at Inter on Sunday was a little disappointing,†added the man who scored his club’s second at the San Siro. “We were excellent in the first half, but didn’t do so well after the break – also because the Nerazzurri played much better. “However, now we must focus on our next tie with Parma at the weekend. “We are obviously hoping that we can win so that we can keep our hopes of reaching our objective alive, although we know it will not be easy.†Palermo’s recent struggles may also be the reason behind why Zaccardo was dropped from the Italian squad which beat Scotland 2-0 in a Euro 2008 qualifier. “I did not understand why I was left out,†added the former Bologna man. “I just hope that I will be called up again in June. “I am improving and I feel more determined, also thanks to the World Cup win. “My future with Palermo? We will discuss this with the club at the end of the season. There are definitely a few things that need to be adjusted in my contract.†channel4 If we win today, I don't think we'll have any big problem.

Man, I just realized a 19 year old Merda fan has never seen his team winning the title... I really feel sad for them, hope they enjoy it cause it will be too long until they get that chance again...

QUOTE Moratti eyes perfect partyWednesday 18 April, 2007President Massimo Moratti is hoping that his Inter side wrap up the Scudetto in “perfect†style against Roma this evening. The two teams meet in the rescheduled Week 22 round and a win for the Nerazzurri would see them collect their first on the field Scudetto since 1989. “It would be perfect,†said Moratti. “We are playing a championship in which the important thing is to reach our goal. “Of course, it would be nice for the fans if it came on Wednesday as many of them will be at the stadium. But we must remember that Roma will be there as well. “However, it doesn’t matter that much whether the title arrives tonight or at another time – the important thing is just to get across the finish line. “As a result, we haven’t organised any celebrations as I don’t think there is any need to rush things. Spontaneity is the best thing in these cases.†Inter seemingly haven’t only won the Italian championship, but they have also netted the admiration of Arsenal forward Thierry Henry. “The respect is mutual, he is a fantastic player and a very intelligent lad,†commented the Via Durini No 1. “However, he has confirmed that he has a contract with Arsenal that lasts for a few more years, so I don’t think he will be able to move here. “In any case, I have to say that for now we are only making plans with regards to the strikers that we already own, players who have done very well this year.†Moratti was also dragged into the Roberto Mancini-Gennaro Gattuso verbal clash over whether the Scudetto victory is more or less difficult than a Champions League success. “I think this debate is a bit childish,†he noted. “Those in the Champions League obviously say that is more important and those ahead in the championship say the opposite. The important thing is to win them both.†channel4 What? Would you mind repeating that? Please... QUOTE (jefri91 @ Apr 18 2007, 08:34 PM) I dont get it? Roma beat Inter so what happens now? Inter need 6 more points to mathematically win the league. But their unbeaten season is ruined, thus we still hold the record of achieving such a task. And they cannot end the season with 100 points AHAHA (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Life is good
