Oddo man out for Milan Thursday 18 January, 2007

Lazio chief Claudio Lotito has insisted that captain Massimo Oddo will not leave the Biancocelesti to join Milan.

The right-back has been paired with the Rossoneri and is keen on moving to the San Siro, but the deal has stalled due to the clubs failing to agree an adequate transfer fee.

“I have always said that we have not put Massimo up for sale. We are still willing to negotiate, although Lazio’s needs remain the priority,” said the outspoken chief on Thursday.

“When we want a player, we do all we can to sign him. I guess Milan are not that convinced about completing this transfer.”

The San Siro boys were also interested in goalkeeper Matteo Sereni before signing Messina’s Marco Storari, but Lazio refused to sell him despite the player’s desire to leave the capital club.

“He didn’t join the Rossoneri because he refused to move on a loan deal. His position has nothing to do with Angelo Peruzzi, who remains our first-choice man between the posts.

“However, we have to plan for the future, because Peruzzi can’t go on forever.”

Lazio host Milan on Sunday evening, when they hope to increase the lead on their direct competitors for a Champions League spot.

“We know that we will face a very strong side – this match and the next one with Palermo are both decisive for the Champions League,” ended Lotito.

I think we can pretty much forget about Oddo at this point (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

We are already going into the last 10 days of the transfer market and we haven't done anything eccept for get an unknown Argentine and Storari from MESSINA

Ronaldo won't come and neither will Oddo. It seems like this will continue until something is done with the management.

i've had enough of this useless scum named galliani. this guy should be fired as soon as possible along with the incompentant management. come on when teams like real sociedad and west ham can beat us to transfers theres obviously a problem.look even serie b juventus can attrack better player than us. what annoys me the most about this season is not so much the results but more the transfer activity because it is main reason why arent competive enough.

Oddo moves closer to Milan

Lazio’s Massimo Oddo is on the verge of joining Milan given that Delio Rossi is set to drop him from the starting line-up against the Rossoneri.

The right-back has been assured of his place in the side so far this term, but Thursday’s training session suggested that the captain would be dropped from the Olimpico clash.

Oddo has made no secret of the fact that he is keen on a move, but the negotiations had stalled after the clubs failed to reach an agreement over the transfer fee.

Biancocelesti chief Claudio Lotito insisted on Thursday that Oddo would not leave, but that may not be in tune with reality.

Not only is Rossi set to ignore the player this weekend, but the capital club’s lawyer is already talking as if a deal has finally been agreed.

“I am sorry that he will leave, but we can’t really place a player under club arrest,” said Gianmichele Gentile.

“I am sure the issue will be solved on Monday, in one way or another. I believe that no one should be penalised by this transfer.

“Oddo has been given an important opportunity from a professional point of view. Lazio gave him a lot, but he has also given a lot to this club.”

According to the latest reports, it seems that Milan will pay £5.7m to Lazio, plus the co-ownership of Pasquale Foggia, who joined Lazio on loan in August.

I can't wait for Monday to come and see if this actually goes through!!!

If we manage to get him and Ronaldo I would say we had been a pretty successfull trasfer campaign.

Now there are rumours going around that Calderon wants 5mil € plus Pippo in exchange for R9 and Cassano. I would say that would be a pretty sweet deal...

Agree with both posts.

I can't understand why galliani can sign Storari and Bonera in a blink of an eye, yet when it comes to any decent players he takes an eternity? Any other transfer 'guru' would have snapped Oddo and Ronaldo up by now and for a cheap price.
Galliani is a waste of space, let him leave and hopefully he can take his friend carlo with him (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

QUOTE

Porto or somebody who understands Italian, care to translate this please.

My Italian's not entirely fluent but it basically says that Milan and Lazio have agreed terms for Oddo's transfer: 7.5 million Euro plus Foggia. And that the announcement of the transfer should be made in Milan on Monday.
