Inzaghi eyes world domination - Wednesday 3 January, 2007 - channel4.com

Milan striker Filippo Inzaghi is confident that 2007 could see the Rossoneri crowned champions of Europe and the world.

Although the San Siro giants have made a poor start to the present season, the striker is optimistic ahead of the next 12 months.

“What would I want from the New Year? It would be nice to win the Champions League and maybe net the World Club Cup,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Our squad is very united and this could allow us to win anything. Milan are a group of friends who want to conquer Europe and the world.”

Milan will open 2007 with a clash against Juventus on Saturday as they contest the Trofeo Berlusconi, which was postponed in the summer because of the Calciopoli chaos.

“Saturday’s match has never been just a friendly,” added the international.

“This will be our only chance to play against Juve. They are a great side and I think we all miss them in Serie A.

“It will be a great match and it would be nice to start the year with a goal,” added the former Bianconeri hero.

Inzaghi did make a bright start to the campaign, but he’s struggled to hit the back of the net in recent months.

“With age we all mature and I am not obsessed by scoring goals any more,” insisted SuperPippo. “If I see that the ball does not go in then I try not to get discouraged.

“I have gained much experience and I want to be useful for my teammates just as Paolo Maldini and Alessandro Costacurta are – I have learned so much from these two champions.”

Give him credit !! He does his best, plus the team .. I think have preformed to their max !!! Chelsea were missing two key players (terry and cech) and they tied their last two games. We have at least 6 players our (KEY PLAYERS) .. Thank God we rnt in the relegation zone.

Any talk of mounting a challenge for the CL final is welcomed, bcz this team has done it before .. and we all know they can do it again !

We were also playing bad when everybody were fit.

Anyway it's just his wishes for the new year. Hope Santa wrote it down (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

When everyone was fit .. We lifted reached the final and Semi final respectivelly and were challenging for 1st place at the sametime (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

In anycase, it's all in the past now .. Let's just hope santa gives Milan a better gift than the one he got us from Argentina (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

This yr .. The season started .. We were in back to back wins !! When we got out of the minus, our injury list started to come about .. As time went by, the list grew longer and longer.

I'm a HUGE critic of football, but to criticise Milan for the first part of this season would be horrendous; given the circumstances at hand.

The game against Lazio (first game) .. Milan played a very intertaining game (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I don't see how they could have played better later on, knowing that these group of players gave it their maximum !

If I remember it correctly we won 3 first games , started to play bad and injuries came later. When injuries came we were already playing bad.

I'm not criticizing anyone. I know the circumstances (of the whole situation) therefore I'm not blaming the players

sure they dint have it easy but the simple thruth was we werent scoring and we dint have any injuries in the forward dep. but ya we cant blame them too much but i'm sure we could have done better even with the injuries at hand. not winning games against atalanta, cagliari, empoli siena... anyways it's the past and it's time to start signing players and winning games!

Whichever way u look at it .. There is bound to be a reason for why the team couldnt perform to the standards of a club like Milan.

The WC, injuries, -8 set-back, no preparation, etc etc

In anycase, let's just turn a new leaf; cuz the first part of the season was nothing to brag about (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif)

Scoring, well there really isn't a reason for not scoring, but the fact that such teams that u have stated play a closed game says alot .. Especially when u compare the score sheet when we played Inter, Fiorentina, Lazio, etc the teams that play open ( attacking) football
