QUOTE (Warchant @ Nov 3 2006, 11:32 PM)
just got done watching the match (i had to record it)...and i am very pleased with the outcome. might not have been the toughest opponent but this is the first time this season i've seen us simply dominate a team we were suppose to dominate.

i think everyone played a great game...and i hope carlo starts this squad from this point on...they looked the best all around than in any other game, imo

yes, other then the 10 minute blackout where we allowed the goal, because our players thought it was a good idea to take a rest during the game because we had a 3-0 lead, I would say that we played a perfect match.

3 or 4 of his 5 goals in Spain are converted penalties ...  (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)   He scored his goal in CL against Levski Sofia ... a much greater team than Anderlecht !!  (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

I'm defending Dinho because he has gotten unfair criticism in the press. Its not like Kaka has been brilliant ever single game this season. He struggled to find form early this season and some of his goals have been penalties.

Dinho has a better offense to work with. Italy is more defensive and Kaka is pretty much our offense right now therefore giving Kaka an edge.

If I was Galliani I would bring in some world class offensive players and build them around Kaka. We would be unstoppable. My frustration is that Kaka is all by himself out there and its kind of a waste with such a quality player to not have more offensive options to deal with.

The other frustration is that the big individual trophies go to players who win trophies and titles. Kaka deserves to win it all but will not be acknowledged truly without a scudetto or CL victory.

Cafu set up Kaka's second.

Gila played a one two with kaka for his thirf

Gila won the penalty.

What I meant to say when you mentioned RVN and Trez in their as players who 'make plays' I had to disagree with you, because as I said all they do is wait for the ball to come to them, Gila at least get's more involved and makes more assists, which is something those 2 you mentioned (or any other box striker for that matter) rarely do.
*

RVN and Trez get more involved. They are box strikers who sit out in front. but they have superior finishing, penetrating, and dribbling abilities.

True they put on the blinders and think finish but the times I have watched them they work better with the players around them than Gila does with Milan. They create goal scoring opportunities.

Now sure they aren't like Scheva or Henry, but they create. Kaka creates. Creative ability is the key to being a first class finisher and Gila creates nothing. He waits there with the probability that a ball will come to his feet or head and kick it in.

Odds are if you stand in front of the box and keeping getting feeds, you will get some chance to score.

All the anti-Gilar, what's with it?

When he wasn't scoring I can understand it, but hes scored 2 in 2, at least give the guy some credit...
*

I guess its just post-Scheva blues. Its hard to watch Milan without a first class forward like Scheva. Im over it.

Gila has scored in 2 your right its a step in the right direction. But I generally address some of the articles in the press that glorify him like he's Scheva replacement. A title which he hasn't come even close to earning.

I think he doesn't work with our offense well. He's really stale out there. He can't dribble or penetrate in transitions.

I think it really puts the weight on Kaka and Seedorf. Gattuso and Pirlo are more defensive players and when your forwards can't play effective offense its like there all alone, Kaka on one end and Seedorf on the other, just running into a wall of players. Trying to create but having no one up top on the same page.

It kind of defines our problem in the past couple season doesn't it.

How can you say that trez and RVN can dribble, penetrate and create chances for others?? Trez the most.

Have you seen last season's games where Gila played? I think he has as much assists to his name as Sheva from last season. Gila is a hard working box-striker, and a rare one at that, maybe you don't see it, because if you are basing this on just his performance against Anderlecht then you have every right to think this way cause I think he was more quite then usual, but his link-up play with both Oli and kaka is amazing, somthing that most box-strikers can't do, especially Trez

No one ever said that Gila is Sheva's replacement!! They aren't even the same type of player

Well Istambul and La Corunia come to mind. That why I get nervous when we build up big leads, because I know that the players get lazy and decide to rest instead of keep playing the game.

I know that that pass didn't mean anything as you say it was 'trivial' I could have made it to him also, I was just pointing to the fact that the player who made the final pass to Kaka is the one credited with the assist. I never said that Gila's assist was crucial in the goal, because it's clear he isn't, it would be like saying that the player who made Kaka's assist in the match against Fanerbache in San Siro was crucial to the goal

Thank you ... (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
By the way Cafu's pass was an actual assisst ... I didn't get what you were trying to say about it. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

I agree. As you read I did not compare them back there I just wanted to clarify Dinho's accomplishments so far this season. I can't compare them right now ... ofcourse Kaka' is playing better but Dinho is not playing at all ...

Nah, I think Ronnie is having a pitiful season so far. Not to mention the Champions League final and the World Cup, he was unrecognizable. He's definitely not the Ronaldinho of 1-2 season ago.

I was trying to point out that even though Cafu's pass was more relevent to the second goal then Gila's to Kaka's third, it was still pretty much all Kaka in the second, that one happened like this, Dida through the ball to Gourcuff, Gourcuff made the pass to Kaka near the half way line, kaka made the turn to free himself from his marker, made the run played the 1 2 with Cafu and put it in.

I was pointing out to the fact that neither was that relevent to any of the goals, but still they are called assists, even though it's pretty much all Kaka in the both of them

He's a box player though, by this I mean he is a poacher, a art Ruud Van Nistelrooy mastered in his time at Manchester United. We do need a Sheva type attacker granted, I think that's what they thought Oliveira would be when they signed him.

I still come to the conclusion MY opinion that Torres is the right attacker for us (reason for the emphasis is that I don't need yet another 100 reasons why we don't need him!)
