Scamacca, Raspadori and Berardi are all overhyped players that show off against smaller sides. They ain't got sh*t on our defense. We've conceded only twice in the last ten games. Twice! We have the most clean sheets in the league (17, 11 of which have come in 2022).

Yes, you can't equate games, but Sassuolo are hardly an unstoppable force. They score a decent amount of goals (64) but also concede a lot (63). They hit a decent form in February and March, but if they were any good they wouldn't be 11th in the standings, below Lazio, Fiorentina, Verona and Atalanta, all teams which we defeated in the last three weeks.

Bottom line is that we should feel confident about ourselves, face the game like we've been doing recently and we'll get home the victory. It's by no means an easy match, but it's by far the one I fear the less from the last five. And we have 2/3 of results at our disposal. That's a huge bonus that shouldn't be underestimated. The players will be more relaxed and go about their game.

Let's hope so.

But the players in question have scored against the top teams as well, us included. Sassuolo have actually done very well against the tope sides and struggled in the games they should theoretically win.

That's why they worry me.

You know that sick in the tummy feeling, yeah thats what I got as the days get closer to the final fixture.

Last season was no different.

The difference here is that Milan already met the season target of qualifying for the CL, a win on the final day to get the scudetto is a conciliation for the team achieving over what was expected of them. And if the team do end up winning the scudetto, the historians will take note and this squad will be remembered alongside those that have won with Milan decades ago.

Still this sick in the tummy feeling is not subsiding! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

They caught us and Inter in a bad day, and they won against Juve with a last second counter. But they've also lost to both Inter and Juve at home. Our turn now.

They certainly are an unpredictable team, but our players' concentration will be at an all time high. And like I said, if we could beat Lazio, Fiorentina, Verona and Atalanta, all of which stand above Sassuolo in the standings, then I don't see why we can't do the same against them.

That doesn't mean that I won't be shitting bricks before and during the game. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

The minimum goal was achieved. But now that we're a point away, we can't say that anything less than the Scudetto wouldn't be a huge disappointment.

Yeah, I was elated on Sunday after spending a week thinking about the game and feeling sick about it, but on Monday I was back to worrying about the next one.

I haven't enjoyed a game without feeling tense in months now. The stress has shortened my life expectancy by about 10 years I feel.

Nice to know (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I was looking at our line-up for the home game and that was a moment where we were also struggling with many injuries as well. Bakayoko was starting!

This was our staring line-up for the game:

Maignan; Florenzi, Kjaer, Romagnoli, Hernandez; Bakayoko, Bennacer; Saelemaekers, Diaz, Leao; Ibrahimovic.

Kjaer and Romagnoli together was a slow pairing, not to mention the error prone Baka who gifted them one of the goals. Kjaer scored an own goal and Romagnoli got sent off.

So it was a huge mess of a game. At least it gives me comfort that we're a much more organised side than the one that started the season, and especially compared to this current moment where we were really struggling and kept making brain farts in defence

Well, Milan almost has its fingers touching the Serie A trophy. But that does not mean Milan have secured it.

I take comfort in that CL had been secured, which from a financial standpoint is excellent for Milan's prospects in further increasing the quality of the squad.

But this sick in the tummy feeling I am having is child like, its as if a magical night could happen or a complete disaster; given how close the team is to grabbing the damn title. And that is where I try to convince myself that winning the scudetto should be viewed as a consolation rather than a target. Its like I'm stuck in this grey area where I don't want my hopes to be elevated, yet I do want to relive the euphoria of Milan winning a title.

Anyways, sick or no sick feeling; Forza Milan!

This is not about securing objectives anymore. We're way past that. It's about realising a dream, for the fans, the players themselves, the club. We're almost there.

I read Pioli will propose the same line-up once again. Don't know why he's so fixated with Krunic all of a sudden, but it goes to show you he has completely lost faith in Brahim. But at least he could play Kessie in that spot with Bennacer alongside Tonali. Krunic is just so mediocre.

Also, any sane mind would start Rebic over Giroud at this point.

i think it just that its getting results, and having some thing to offer from bench in case if it comes to that.

If my luck this season is anything to go by, we're going to lose.

One penalty robbed Rangers of the Europa League, we've nothing left for the Scottish Cup on Saturday, and then Sunday it's Milan's date with destiny. All we have to do is draw, right?

I'm a rotten jinx.

Just hope the football gods are kind to me and us.

I understand you there bro. I keep trying to perform mental gymnastics at the possibility of us bottling tis. Don't know if I'll be able to handle it if we really do f@ck this up at the last mini hurdle.

I think he's choosing Krunic because he gives a bit more flexibility than either Bennacer or Diaz. He can perform 2 roles in midfield and allows for Tonali to make runs from deep by taking up a deeper role to cover while starting higher up.

Rebic is obviously being used as an impact player off the bench. Look at the Atalanta game as a perfect example. They were comfortable defending us when it was Giroud playing a statis role, but as soon as Rebic came on their plan went to sh!t as he doesn't provide a focal point to mark

This.

As I said above, with Rebic it's obvious what he is doing.

And with Benna I think he feels comfortable knowing he can bring him on, whether we need a goal or need to close out a game, he serves a purpose in either scenario. Same thing can be said with Messias, Florenzi, Diaz, etc. We're starting these games a bit more cautiously right now, feeling out the opponents, seeing how they're going to approach it and then adjusting accordinly during the game. I think Pioli has managed this run-in masterfully.

Danny, I suggest you retreat to a cave starting Saturday evening, and if all goes well we'll send out smoke signals.

But we need to make an impact immediately, not after wasting half the match with Giroud and Krunic doing nothing and everything wrong. Krunic to some extent I can understand even though I don't agree with the choice, but Rebic should be a no brainer. You can still make an impact with the various Brahim, Messias and Zlatan later in the match if you need to. Giroud is just so, so crap.

Don't get me wrong, I prefer Rebic, I'm just thinking about what Pioli's intentions might be. And the reality is that we do not actually have to win.

But we do all want a stress free Sunday where we close the game out quickly. Just find it hard to believe that could happen, we never do anything the easy way.

Sky reported today that Pioli is considering starting Rebic.

By the way, looks like we're close to being acquired by RedBird Capital. Offer is 1.3 billion, Elliott will maintain a minority shareholding and may gain an additional 500m when they decide to exit. Investcorp has pulled back.
