Last I read the Kalinic deal was in stand-by. I think he's our very last resort.

I feel bad for the guy. Knowing that he's, what, the 5th alternative in our attack is quite sad.

So, the surety bonds for Biglia and Bonucci were posted today. They were secured through Banca Ifis from Genoa. That bank is chaird by Sebastien von Furstenburg, whose mother was Clara Agnelli. Oh, the irony.

Yep. If we really wanted him, he'd have already been a Milan player by now.

Fassone said that there are 5 to 6 players in the mix. Ibra and Falcao being 2 of them. Falcao and Kalinic being the two obvious let down options in there.

Auba, Diego Costa and another mystery guy might be in there.

I'd take Ibra and Kalinic at this point and call it a day. We can bring in a top class forward next season

Yep, Fassone also confirmed what you've been saying, about no other club having paid up their bonds either, but the press is making a big deal out of ours when we're the only club who have so far coughed up for Conti and Kessie

I'm not so sure.

Kalinić is IMO useless. We can find the same type of striker for half the money (okay, probably not in Serie A, which is a downside). But the only point of bringing Kalinić is to have a reliable backup poacher. Well, let's sing Rolando Bianchi or Gila instead.

Ibrahimović doesn't thrill me either. IMO the con's are much stronger then the pro's. He's a Raiola player for one, then he's old and injured for a long time. He also is the domineering type of player which isn't what the team really needs IMO. The signing we made clearly indicate that we're gonna play a cohesive unit with few tricks up our sleeves and we should be tactically very flexible. Singing Ibrahimović opens up a lot of questions in attack, slows us down even more then we are (which is a bit worrisome) and makes us fairly one-sided in a tactical manner. Also, and this is just my personal fear, Montella could easily fall in the same trap Allegri once did with Ibra, playing everything on him and praying for him to work out his magic.

The pro's are more evident I guess. Likes Milan, knows Milan, knows Serie A, is/was a world class player.

My only worry with Ibra is his injury. If he isn't fit for the whole season starting in November, we have a problem. Since he's a free agent, we can take our time signing him. We could even sign him once the league starts and we assess what it is we want to do.

The thing is that yes Ibra is a domineering personality but he's never been known to create trouble or division in the team. So that part I'm not as worried about.

Belotti looks more and more like our Mr X. Looks like its gonna be one of those closing day signings though.

Ibra could be signed, but that doesnt change much as he isnt the same player who lifted the Scudetto with us.

Why do you think Belotti is the Mister X?

No news this morning re: transfers other than the general speculation on a striker. All sorts of names still being mentioned.

Mirabelli was interviewed on Domenica Sportiva yesterday (English highlights on Football Italia for those interested). During the interview, he hinted that an ex Milan player may return - but followed that statement by saying that he didn't necessarily mean Ibra.

Another bid for Belotti was apparently rejected.

There's also speculation that the striker - whoever it may be - will be an end-of-market transfer a la Nesta in 2002.

Somewhere on twitter I saw the name of Pato resurface. He made a post on Instagram as well announcing that he has something big to say... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Anyone following his career? Seems like there is quality there.

On the contrary, I think Ibra, even if he's not the same player as he was before, would be a great influence among the rest of the team. Let's face it, aside from Bonucci, we don't have any winners in this team, we need someone like him imo.

And I don't think Montella could fall into that trap because he's a far more tactically astute coach than Allegri is. Allegri made the entire team rigid and reliant on Ibra, I can't imagine Montella going for something like that

Sky have said that we've given up on Belotti. Torino want their 100m and we don't want to pay it.

At this point I can't see Auba happening either, BVB will not sell him this late in the window

The longer this goes on, the more probability there is of Kalinic + Ibra imo

I don't think we'll leave it that late. Mirabelli already said that we'll be waiting until 15th August, most teams will not want to sell their best players so late in the window. So the longer we take, the shorter the list will become.

Gazetta said that, and they have been absolutely dead wrong all summer. I think we've given up on Belotti a long time ago. Torino have stuck firm to the 100m asking price and we don't want to pay that much.

Thing is, Han, we're trying to build the future Milan. I don't think a short term year-long Ibrahimović signing would go in this direction. It would be something Galliani would have done; I expect much more now.

But don't get me wrong. Belotti is insanely expensive, so I think we should give up. Falcao is washed up, Costa seems to be uninterested for Milan, the Cavani rumors were just speculations I guess. It leaves us with Auba who's been said to stay at Dortmund. So, if Ibrahimović is the only option we have, he's still much better then Kalinić or Bacca - given that he's healthy.

If all goes according to plan, we will be in CL next year. That will give us more options.
