QUOTE (X-Offender @ Jul 18 2017, 05:08 PM) Close. In an ideal world, he should be stepping up and becoming first choice for us as soon as Biglia's contract runs out. But there are two ways of looking at it. - Is he better off playing elsewhere and gaining experience with another lesser club. - Is he better off training with some high quality players and increasing his skills while starting in the Coppa Italia or something.

QUOTE (han2503 @ Jul 18 2017, 07:42 AM) I think we're interested in all 3 strikers we're linked with. They're feeling all 3 clubs out atm, but Real are holding very firm on their valuation, and simply put, Morata is not worth what they're asking. They're valuing him as a superstar asset, when he simply has never delivered that kind of season for any Club. Never been first choice yet delivered the stats of one. Pretty handy if you ask me. QUOTE Morata is not worth that and we shouldn't even try. Real want to keep him and they don't need the money so they have no need to negotiate. They slapped a price tag on him and they have no need or want to budge from it. United looked elsewhere because of this very issue and we should be smart and follow their lead
If it came down to it, Auba is the only star name that is sort of worth what Dortmund are asking because he has the numbers and commercial potential to back up his high price tag
Anyway so the amount of conflicting reports that have come out this morning are just mind boggling, let's do a run down
Di Marzio is saying that Belotti is the number 1 target for us
Laudisa from Gazzetta is saying that Auba has said yes to our 8.5m/year proposal, but Dortmund are asking for 80m while we're offering 70m (Note: this is the same guy who just yesterday said that we have a deal with Morata and offered Real 70m). He also says that Morata is still the favourite, go figure, he's basically rounding up all his bases
German BILD on the other hand are also reporting the Auba story (probably where Gazzetta got their story from)
Pedulla on the other hand is saying that we'll meet with Dortmund tomorrow, and if the response is negative, we'll go all out for Belotti. He also said that Belotti will push for a move
So basically everyone is all over the place. We'll see what happens, I'd be happy with any one of them, but I think Morata is the least likely. If Man U couldn't make it happen, I doubt we can Well this morning is all change again - Morata is asking too much for wages apparently. Belotti has actually gone quiet and going by this morning's performance I wouldn't be shocked if Aub becomes the new front runner. Or we say f*ck it all and stick with the Brilliant Bacca (IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

QUOTE (Danny @ Jul 18 2017, 01:20 PM) Or we say f*ck it all and stick with the Brilliant Bacca (IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) What a let down that would be... I personally think he's as good as gone. Thank God! Honestly I don't understand why any Milan fan would like this guy. He's been average for nearly a season and a half for us, add to that he's been disrespectful to the shirt and coaches on multiple occasions. I think from all the Milan fans I know and talk with it's only you and Fillipo who still rate him

I mean you seem to be so happy he's leaving and say he's average; but Han, if Bacca is average, 50% of Milan's squad is beyond dreadful and a bunch of guys starting with Lapadula are sub-par. I think Bacca was a useful player; the best our limited resources could get. But we reach now a point where we move past him and his limitations. That's for sure.

Seems like Borussia Dortmund announced that Auba will be staying. I must say, I'm very sad to hear that.
Watching today's Milan, with all problems taken into account (a bunch of starters not even in China etc.), it looks like we still lack of ideas and speed. Çalhanoğlu is the only real creative source. Bonaventura has to up his game pronto.
That being said, out of Morata, Auba and Belotti I think Auba is the only player that adds in components in our game we sourly miss. He gives us speed, intelligence and that certain extra - he can score goals regardless of the supply quality, out of thin air. This is why he always was my prime target - he simply adds new qualities to the mix, whereas Morata and Belotti give you more of the same at hand (in greater quality of course).

This is the worry I have - we have absolutely NO PACE. Didn't you say both Rodriguez and Cal are hardly speed merchants? Well that hasn't changed going by today. The quickest player we have is a toss up between Niang and Zapata ffs. We have an absolutely chronic lack of pace and haven't addressed that at all in the window. We still play slow and ponderous, and Dortmund were a class above us. And yes, I thought Auba was outstanding and would joyously take him. Wonder if he'd actually want to join our sh*tshow though because he's better off where he is. I can't shake off this horrible feeling that even with all the new players, and there was a bit of improvement in the second half, we will still play to last season's model. And that's slow. Ponderous. And backwards. Sincerely hope we see much better against Bayern because going by today, there's been zero progress beyond new names on the shirts.

I think his impact the season before last showed his quality. Give the guy the support and the chances and he will score. He is a not quite as good Higuian type player and an asset if used right. I know why he's so disliked now btw: 1: Argument with manager 2: The failed move to China 3: Loss of form caused by injury The lad went from the toast of Milan in 2015/2016 to a pariah over a course of a few moments. But I know there's a player in there - WE SAW HIM. But so many fans want to forget that guy.

Well yeah, I mean considering the cash we spent already - as I mentioned I'd rather keep Bacca than buy Kalinic. But I'm also aware that if he is locker room poison, we probably should get rid of him. So I dunno really....

Marca have confirmed Real are selling Morata, and the quoted price is 70M. http://www.marca.com/futbol/real-madrid/20...0f4a8b45ef.htmlThe situation is thus: We are going to sign one of four targets. Morata, Aubameyang, Belotti or Kalinic. The Belotti situation has gone a bit quiet - all we know is he wants to leave. We offered 40M which basically shows he's the least prized choice of the 'big 3'. Aubameyang has been 'confirmed' as staying at Dortmund, which is usually a 'offer enough and you'll get him' type statement. But it prices him out of our reach. He will go for beyond 80M. Kalinic is the cheap nasty option - exactly the same as Bacca if not as good. If we offer 20M we'll get him but it would hardly be the marquee name we want. The little caveat is those first three names seem to be the most in-demand and available strikers in Europe, and we are directly up against Chelsea in all three markets. We have beaten Chelsea's wage offer to Morata, and 70M is now enough, but we have already offered that apparently and he's hardly run to sign on the dotted line. We're gonna end up with flipping Kalinic.
