Ronaldo has earned a shitty tournament or two. He's a legend. Ridiculous comparison my friend. As for Silva, not tagging him a failure, I'm calling a spade a spade and questioning the signing. On paper, and based on his career thus far it's a poor one for the investment made given how well we've used our money otherwise.

Be delighted if he proves me wrong, but as you can see, I'm far from alone in questioning his ability to deliver for us. Actually, being honest, it's you in the minority who's happy with him. Let's hope you're feeling smug come November when he rampages through the UEL and Serie A.

That's not the point. Portugal in general weren't good, Bernardo Sila looked average as well and he just cost City 40m. I was mostly watching their games to get a feel of what type of player Andre is and how he plays.

And "based on his career thus far"? He's 21 FFS. Already scored in the CL and has a great goals per game ratio for his country.

Like I said, you have every right to be skeptical, but you're all our against him atm it already feels like you're not going to even give him a chance from the way you're talking. This is 2017, promising players cost you 30m+ these days so I won't let the transfer fee cloud my judgment.

Also. I'm happy with the signing because I think he's a player who has a lot of potential + definate star quality should he live up to the hype. So I'm going to back him to make it all the way because if he does, the potential upside for Milan is temendous and not just on the pitch because he can be a very marketable player

QUOTE (amancik @ Jul 4 2017, 12:33 AM) *
Guys, would you be open to the idea of having Sneijder as an alternative signing to Biglia? I think he'd be a good experienced midfielder to have. A short term solution before we find that elusive marquee midfielder that we can afford.

If his wages are low than yes. He still had something like 5 goals and 19 assists last season, plus I always wanted him, even when he was still at Ajax. Don't know if he can actually play the regista role, but he's be a great addition for squad depth, especially since we're selling most of our midfield

Still think we need Biglia THIS summer though

Terrible deal for us!!!

I mean wtf were they thinking. 6m for a kid, I wonder how the rest of the players feel about this FFS. Add to that getting his mediocre brother for 1m per year salary. Fassone really took a hit on this one.

Hopefully we get into the CL next season and we move him on for that 100m ASAP. Otherwise we'll be losing out big time. I'm just hopeing he doesn't do a massive choke job considering all the pressure that will be on his shoulders next season especially since fans won't be forgiving as they have been in the past with him

He'll be one of the best paid players in the league. Forget about keepers. Almost as much as Higuain! Honestly don't know what F & M were smoking when they offered him this. I get that they didn't want to lose him, not just for footballing reason but this is a digusting wage for an 18 year old

No, this is a message being sent out isn't it? F&M backed by Ross. Sport is saying Milan are back in the big money league. This is an important move and announcing ourselves to the world class talents I guess.

In any case 6 MM was always the offer I guess (must be inclusive of bonuses). They said in the first announcement of his rejection - that Milan had made an offer much more important than what the media were saying (i.e >5MM).

The Antonio Donnarumma thing is not new I guess. We did this with Kaka and Digao didn't we? It's mostly to get the family on our side.

Is it worth it? I don't know man. If we end up with good results next season (top 3 and a trophy) - then I'm sure we'll consider Donnarumma saga as a small blip and go on with life.

The only reason this would make sense is if we sell Dollarumma after one season for 70-80 million. Otherwise, this is not worth it. I would be pleased with Perin or Neto.

As is the fickle nature of sport, I've already forgotten. Fact is we've decided to sign him on so what's the point of holding a grudge against your own player.

No point grumbling forever.

I hate that I feel the same way. I'm wondering if I've just become less romantic about 'values' in football.

I just hope he delivers in the upcoming season after the crap we've had to go through to get him to sign a freaking renewal.

It's not about holding grudges, it's about feeling that he doesnt deserve that wage and I would be happy to see him leave (cos if would make sense financially) if we get 70m for him.

Donnarumma along with his parents arrived in Milan last night. They will meet with Fassone and Mirabelli in Casa Milan today. The relationship between Raiola and Gigio's family, his father and brother Antonio in particular, has cracked. The family, as well as Donnarumma, have been pushing for a stay at Milan without clamor and did not like the way Raiola negotiated with [Metropolis Quotidiano]

Trabzonspor will have a new meeting with Milan for Kucka this afternoon, according to Gianluca Di Marzio. The two clubs had already met last week for Kucka but there was a notable difference between the offer and demand.

Marseille are reflecting on Bacca. Carlos has indicated that he is interested in joining which is a positive sign for OM [RMC Sport]

Sneijder's agent to Milannews.it: "In Italy there so many rumors but I had no contacts with Milan."

We will probably sell Niang, Kucka, Bacca, De Sciglio, Paletta and Vangioni. I think we can get 60-65 for them, also save from their wages.

I agree entirely but he's our player for another year at least. So far as I'm concerned the ugly stuff is buried and it's business as usual. Anything else is counterproductive.

It's not about holding a grudge, but the wages are ridiculous. And to think he had the cheek to refuse them. I'm sorry but he's tarnished forever and we should look to cut our losses ASAP. That CL clause is also stupid, especially since we're bending over big time here considering we're paying him and his brother 14m gross per year

He simply does not deserve this kind of money, he's not good enough yet, and this could set a dangerous president for us.

Lapadula. Bertolacci and Mauri could also be added to that list

Hopefully we can close a deal for Kucka's sale today since we're reportedly meeting with Trabzonspor. We really need to get a move on with these sales

It will be, but do you really think the fans will continue to baby him and make excuses for him after mistakes?

I think the pressure could really get to him this season.
