4-4-2 seems to be clicking, though. I told you from the start it's the only way to go. And it'll get even better once Bertolacci recovers. If only we had a better winger than Cerci...
Sorry for doubting you, oh great one (IMG:

Hopefully the wing situation gets better once we have Menez back, not to mention Balo as well could be a huge boost. Niang is doing well atm but's always great to have more depth and options available.
Cerci was at least useful against Samp, but he's just so painfully one dimensional, always goes for the same plays, same moves, just basically a one trick pony and doesn't even make that one trick look all that great

I'm hoping it gets better once menez comes back, with new a quality midfielder.
Agreed.
And Berto was really starting to improve before he got injured, hopefully him and Monto can form some sort of partnership.
Maybe we'll still go after Witsel this winter or someone similar, we'd be really strong in midfield if we had someone like him instead of Kucka.

Our next three games before Christmas break are Carpi (A), Verona (H) and Frosinone (A). These are all absolute must-wins. If we do indeed win all three of them, then we'd have achieved a total of 7 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss in the last 9 games. In other words, our season would change. Let's see if the team can do that.
Agreed, and in theory, if we play like we did on Saturday, there's no reason why we shouldn't. I was personally very impressed with how we pressed Samp so much, and not like we were doing at the beginning of the season running full speed ahead aimlessly like headless chickens after the ball and basically exhausting themselves by the 45th minute. But we pressed with purpose and force Samp into a lot of errors. That's what I want to see more of.
I'm also very happy to finally see a CB partnership being forged. Romagnoli is really coming into his won, he's done very well nest to both Alex and Mexes in recent games, it's reassuring to know considering the injury issues both of the older CBs seem to have these days.
