QUOTE (X-Offender @ Sep 2 2015, 11:14 PM) *
Zapata gets too much shtick in here. He's not so bad.

Oh no, he isn't. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) It's his brain freeze moments, which are at least one per match, that get me. Were it not for them, he would be an okay member to have in the team. At least, better than Kevin Constant as a player. But his moments have cost us in the past, and continue costing us points or goals.

Kevin Constant, that's one name I had forgotten. I just did a quick Google search for him, and this is what I got:

Exactly what we're missing to make our formation work.

Rui Costa. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) Indeed. One of my top five players of all time, massive talent.

Ditto. For me, the guy had more class than any of Pirlo, Xavi, Iniesta etc.

Aye, they don't make them like him anymore. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Even though he was here towards the end of his career, he always put in a good show, knew when his time was up and said goodbye. His time at Fiorentina, though, man, that was something else entirely, and same goes for his stint with the Portugal National Team.

Right up there with the best, and I'm just glad he player for us, played with our best.

QUOTE
"I said from the beginning that I am staying at PSG," said Ibrahimovic. "I'm happy there."

He added: "It was concrete from [AC Milan's] side and they showed great interest.

"I take it as a compliment that there is still interest in me. It means I'm still performing. I take it as positive.".

Not Galliani's fault this one. Ibra rejected us.

Galliani nowadays is a giant liability and a loss of precious time. The man is simply overrun by history, he can't handle the modern-day era. That's understandable, but fatal in our case, because he tends to eliminate everyone who gets into his way.

He has no plan, just momentary flings and very down-to-earth fantasies. He sees the movie Moneyball and thinks it's about him: hence his brilliant-free ideas of signing players like Essien. He knows people like Arsenal, for they present maybe the last shred (I'm not in agreement with this, but I see people tend to think so) of "sexy football" Milan helped inventing with Gullit and co. Therefore he calls the Milan project as the "next Arsenal"; in fact Milan does not have the facilities, the skilled worldwide scouting network, the incomes and the organization necessary to maintain such a model.

It was Capello back there a few years that rejected a backroom Milan position of grounds that "we don't have a plan". And this is the core of Galliani's problem. He doesn't have a feasible plan, he picks his subordinates and co-workers (not to mention coaches) by his own criteria, which in the end means they'll be satisfied with what he gets. The rest can go work in Spain, like Braida, who we wrongly sacked.

This is also true (IMO) for the transfer strategy. Things should be solved fast, swiftly, with a plan. If Ibrahimović didn't want to move to Milan, we could have known that at the beginning of the summer not wait until the last minute and then snatch up what's left. Balotelli has zero value right now, so it doesn't take a genius to sign him instead. But it does take a little bit of thinking, planning, gluing and sticking this goddamn team together.

But I agree with those of you who say Galliani is only part of the problem. A big part, but nevertheless just a part.
