I've always felt "guilty" of supporting a successful club so I don't mind the down years at all. I always thought it'd be more... romantic to support Fiorentina for example, if that makes sense. What bothers me is for a while now there's not a single player in this team I really like! There's actually more players I really don't like. And then there's Balotelli whom I can't stand. Plus, off the field this management has become so appalling and tasteless. But... Milan is Milan, it's not a matter of choice.

There are players that I do like, but yeah, the scale is tipped towards the ones I don't like. I can't see that changing any time soon, only the list of players that I do like getting even shorter than it already is

Oh come, on! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) There is at least one player that you do like, admit it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Sure, you may not like him as much as Kakha Kaladze, but Mattia De Sciglio is one chap that you should (and probably do) appreciate. Of all the young characters we have had seen play, he carries himself the best.

Not a fan, yet, but I think the kid could be a gem, provided we keep him. Provided.

I do like MDS, but as I said there's no one I really like, or as you said, I'm not a fan yet.

Hey, I was just funning around. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) I like the guy too, just as much as you. But we all agree that he has a long way to go to prove himself among the other greats of the club. Let's just hope he is played in his strongest position from now on, or at least, not hovered around different ones.

Wow. Sometimes, it is like Pana and I are the same person. I have the same issues. There really is no one I like in this team right now.

I've always liked Pazzini, but even now I still don't see him as "Milan".

I'm here till I die!
FORZA MILAN!!
(IMG:style_emoticons/default/devilsmiley.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/devil.gif)

I love this club, but like many of you not necessarily all it's players!

For what it's worth - Here's my assessment of our current side:

NOT MILAN QULAITY
Michael Agazzi (3rd string quality at best - Should not have arrived - Should be sold)
Gabriel (3rd string quality at the moment at best - Should be sent on loan or sold)
Kévin Constant (Ridiculous to think he's one of the current team's most expensive acquisitions - Should be sold)
Dídac Vilà (Never given a chance, but also never hinted toward any real prospect - Should probably be sold)
Cristian Zaccardo (Should have never arrived here in the first place - Needs to go!)
Sulley Muntari (Better options can be brouht in - Can easily be replaced - Back up at best, but should be sold)
Michael Essien (Should have never arrived here in the first place - Needs to go!)
Robinho (Departure Long overdue & Wages Too High - Needs to go!!!)

POSITIVE SPOTS IN OUR TEAM
Mattia De Sciglio (Prospect for the future - Must stay!)
Bryan Cristante (Prospect for the future - Must stay!)
Nigel de Jong (Our only true DM and a decent quality one at that with a few years still to offer)
Mario Balotelli (Our best ST - I've said it before, and I'm saying it again... I'm willing to give him another season)
Stephan El Shaarawy (I've said it before, and I'm saying it again... I'm willing to give him another season)
Hachim Mastour (Brilliant prospect for the future - Must stay!!!)
Keisuke Honda (Decent enough for rotation - Still yet to impress for us though)
Andrea Poli (Decent hard working rotational player - Gets the job done for the moment)
Riccardo Montolivo (Arguably our best MF & playmaker, about as good as we can do right now)

MIXED REVIEW - CAN OFFER SOMETHING TO THE TEAM
Christian Abbiati (What should be a backup keeper in my eyes) *1
Ignazio Abate (Highly inconsistent - Should definitely stay until a suitable replacement is brought in though)
Philippe Mexès (Decent enough CB for backup & rotation - Needs reduced wages though) *1
Adil Rami (Decent enough CB for backup & rotation - Showed how willingness to play for us) *2
Cristián Zapata (Decent enough CB for backup & rotation)
Michelangelo Albertazzi (Undecided but unimpressed at the moment - Better options definitely exist)
Alex (Decent enough CB for backup & rotation) *1
Daniele Bonera (Loyal player - Nothing more than backup & rotation) *1
Riccardo Saponara (Prospect for the future - Still yet to impress apart from one game vs inter)
Giampaolo Pazzini (Decent backup - Still yet to recover form after a long injury layoff)
M'Baye Niang (A prospect for the future - Loan might be the best option)
Jérémy Ménez (A decent capture for rotation up top - Yet to show his worth)

*1 - Time not on their side, but can possibly contribute in a rotational role.
*2 - Demonstrated last season to be a good rotation CB, has had a horrible pre-season thus far though

I adore De Jong. I like Abate. I like MDS. I like Bonera. I like Zapata. I like Pazzo. I like Poli.

I want to like Menez, but that's where my affinity ends with the players.

Players I genuinely dislike:

Mexes, Monto, Essien, Muntari, Constant, SES, Honda, Saponara, Balo - that's actual hate.

Players I'm on the fence with:

Rami, Cristante, Alex.

Over the years my support for this team has never faltered. On the contrary, I'd say I've become even more fanatic as now I also see things more in depth, whereas previously when I was younger I was mostly just an avid fan.

However, one thing has changed, drastically, and that is the passion I watch every game. In the Ancelotti years I would literally scream every time we'd scored, be it against Juventus or against Modena. I would get chills before every important game, and watch each game with incredible intensity. Nowadays, I rarely get that feeling. Because there isn't anything we're capable of fighting for. Every game is a constant, a mediocrity, a borefest.

The passion inside of me has died down, and considering the sad state we're in nowadays I don't know if it'll ever come back. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Interesting theory. I have one too. If your first team is not Milan, then you are not really a Milan fan. And you certainly can't tell Milan fans how to be real Milan fans. Maybe I should explain the meaning of irony to you allover again.

I understand this completely, but I'm sure something would give eventually (sooner hopefully rather than later) and our passion can return!

I almost go into games expecting to lose now, where as before I would be overly optimistic thinking we were invincible.
Even after our glory years passed, I still had moments where I would blindly feel like if we gave our all we can put up a fight and get a result against any team.

Nowadays however, its more along the lines of... if we gave our all, we 'might not' get embarrassed that badly!

...but such are the times for a Milan fan! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

A bit of a stretch that? Though it is good to see your ugly self here again. I missed you butthead. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif)

In the end, you're always a football fan I believe. And the values you like in football are the ones you look for in a club. Sometimes you have supported the club long enough to know what its core values are and therefore believe anything contrary is just a blip in the graph. Sometimes it doesn't work that way, and the very core values of your club does change. And sometimes you're not okay with that change at all and can no longer support what your old club now represents.

So I'm not one for censuring anyone. Who am I to judge why someone should support Milan? If you supported a winning team that had some of the best players in Europe strut stuff as an elite heavyweight, there's nothing wrong with that, and you probably shouldn't let someone tell you you're being shallow. After all a heartfelt admiration towards excellence and professionalism is nothing to be ashamed of.

My values are not the same.

I supported Milan and Newcastle coz of that community feeling they generated. It was a nice cozy family atmosphere. When I feel it no longer exists without a shred of hope for it to return, then I too might need to find another club. But yes, winning or losing has little to do with my loyalties.

Name and shame. I'll give you one. Tennie. More of a Barca fan now. Well...she's probably gone to Real Madrid or Atleti now. Definitely spends her time on their forums anyway. Not Milan ones.

Nice girl, odd, but not a bad soul. But absolutely not a true Rossoneri.

Man, you've got it all wrong here. Tennie is and always will be nothing but a true Rossonero. She watched Milan games before you and me even knew how to spell the players names. And she's still a Milan fan, I know that for a fact (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

It's only that the recent management-related things got her to watch different teams and milder down their support. I don't think it's bad.

For example, say we have a time machine and it brings you to Italy 1930-something. Would you still support Milan, even if you knew that Lazio and Milan are the designated fascist clubs?
