You kidding? Pirlo, Marchisio, Verratti, De Rossi are all top class.

I wouldn't say they are the best midfield, no. You played an ordinary team, and will beat Costa Rica tomorrow. First real test will be Uruguay imo. Then we will see what they're really like in the KO stages.

I don't get why you think Uruguay are so good? Suarez isn't a defender and they conceded 3 against Costa Rica.

I don't even think that Uruguay are that good, I just think Italy are worse.

I suppose we'll see how Italy do against a side that just embarrassed this, better, Uruguay side.

And they say English fans are biased, my lord.

Name another nation that has a midfield selection better than Italy, the only one that comes very close to it are germany, but they're too loaded down with AMs imo

And I don't think I'm overrating them at all, I acknowledge their defensive weaknesses as well as Prandelli's obsession with Candreva. Bit like kurt mentioned, Italy always get underestimated

Yeah Italy always get underrated. I remember in 2006 people wondering if it's the worst Italian squad ever. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Yeah, I like when people underestimate us that much as MAB is doing at the moment. Just makes me even more optimistic (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I don't even expect anything from Costa Rica, they played them when they had their star anchor out too. Like a Portugal without a Cristiano.

Wait until the 3rd game and beyond.

I'll expect Italy to cruise to the finals with 'the best midfield in the competition' too.

I do that a lot apparently, like with England, so I was told.

Hopefully they fall below that stage, but take down Ze Germans before that. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) Italy is one of the very few sides that can, sadly. And the fact that I want some variety in the final this time around, maybe even a new winner, one can only hope. Still can't believe the fudging easy route Germany got. Ridiculous draw, to be honest. Absolutely ridiculous.

We have some of the most lackluster groups, where I don't even want to watch a match. And then we have these horrible groups with three or four good teams. The icing on the cake, they had Mehico lumped together with Brazil. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) They always trouble Brazil, but are ripped to pieces against teams like Argentina.

Anyone read about Serey Die's story? He was crying before the kick-off of Colombia-Ivory Cost because he had just received news about the death of his father. Even so, he decided to play. The thing became huge on internet, with many people condoling the guy.

BUT...

He clarified later after the game that his father actually died in 2004, and his was crying simply because he was filled with joy and honor of representing his nation in such a huge tournament.

Link

Talk about killing the mood. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Whoever stared the rumor of his father dying, WTF man?!
