Yup. I hated him till I read that book.
He's the kind of guy who would probably give Rino his kidney without a thought. But if a bunch of us held a banner outside saying "Do it for Milan", he'd smirk and walk off.
I think he will make a good coach for two reasons:
1. His way of thinking is quite tactical. He looks for space, finds gaps. Basically a tactical mind married with his already high technical capability. In other words, I believe he can be that rare breed of coach who is both tactical and can set up his teams to play technical quality football.
2. His lack of allegiance to causes or clubs but to players, might make him a good manager while having the sort of bloody mindedness to move from club to club making a career for himself without any scars.
But of course, he clearly seems to indicate he has no interest in coaching. Perhaps he doesn't have the patience or appetite for pressure.
