Looks like Hernanes is on his way to Inter.

Looks like not. Lazio fans are infuriated, they want at least €30 million. Lotito wants to keep him till 2018.

QUOTE (KillerMax @ Jan 28 2014, 04:22 PM) *
I've always had this philosophy, if you don't have a lot of money, buy few and buy quality. When I was in college, I made a tight budget for clothing. I decided to buy only a handful of stuff for that first year, but I bought some of the best stuff I could get my hands on for the cheapest deals I could find. For the next couple of years, I didn't have 10 shirts to choose from, but I looked money, I felt good and my budget was intact. But then I always see these people with similar budgets to mine, go to walmart and buy 10 shirts and 3 pants... And complain about not having money and being poor. YOU ARE STUPID.

Morale of story? Milan are stupid.

Your philosophy sounds good in theory and I completely agree when it comes to clothes but it falls apart when translating to players for one simple reason: injuries. With clothing a more expensive item also corresponds with greatly increased durability. You can have only one or two items when they are extremely well made and last a long time. We don't have the same promise when it comes to players. Just because some one is a quality player doesn't mean they are less likely to get injured and when they do we'll be even thinner in back up. I agree we should trim down the squad and make smart purchases but it really isn't an apples to apples comparison.

Thank you. I spent a long time wondering how to articulate the above thought then mentally flipped the bird at Max and peaced out.

Taraabt is potentially the worst transfer ever. Useless player.

Every club takes injuries into consideration when they sign players, but the gist here (and what Max was trying to say) is that it's much better having a normal-size roster (25-26) with decent players rather than an inflated roster of 30-32 players like we've had from a few years now filled with Onyewu's and Mesbah's and Zaccardo's and Traoré's etc.

Max's post had an exaggerated sense of stark minimalism. I agree with what you are saying about squad size. I don't think Taarabt is the worst transfer ever especially on a loan with option to buy. The real problem we have is our inability to get rid of our **** dead weight players. Why the hell do we pay them so much? I see no reason we should be paying them so much more than they would be getting at the midtable clubs they come from. Players should jump at the chance to prove themselves at Milan. We shouldn't need to double their wages to convince them to come.

I see it like this:

In footballing terms, it's pretty much irrelevant if the "injury backup" is Zaccardo or the primavera player Davide Pacifico.

But financial terms matter as well. Pacifico (he's just a metaphor) is costing us peanuts and get's a shot in the big league, while Zaccardo costed us transfer money, his yearly salary and probably won't move when we try getting rid of him.

According to Gazzetta, Seedorf has blocked Saponara's transfer to Parma because he wants to give him a chance in this second half of the season.
