QUOTE (Zed.D @ Mar 12 2013, 03:08 PM) I think right now Real Madrid are the best team in the world (until proven otherwise). I totally disagree. Don't you remember how Real were outplayed by B.Dortmund in the group stages home and away? R.Madrid are a good team but certainly not the best at the moment...right now I think there is a battle for supremacy..

Unh, unh. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif) Bayern Munich are the best team in the world, by a fair distance. And whoever beats them has a pretty great chance for the CL title. Both Spanish sides have chinks in their armor, and their performances hinge on their star players. Unlike Bayern (and us, to a lesser extent), they either lack chemistry, or form, or both. Of course, I am talking about a good old fashioned football team, not a squad of superstars.

Well, I said "right now". just when everyone thought Mou had lost the dressing room and that stuff, he united the team to turn it around and record 3 important wins over Barca and Man U and now they're the team to beat along with Bayern IMO. Unlike Bayern (and us, to a lesser extent), they either lack chemistry, or form, or both. I forgot about Bayern. I'd say they're equal. unlike RM who haven't been anywhere near the CL final for years, Bayern seem to get there with ease these years but eventually come short, just like the Germany NT. this term with Mourinho, I think Madrid have a good chance of going all the way to the final and winning it, as much as I'd hate that to happen. Bayern? they'll probably end up being the CL losers they've been for a while. they could win also. we'll see. QUOTE Of course, I am talking about a good old fashioned football team, not a squad of superstars. Really? it's not like Bayern are Barcelona themselves. Neuer, Robben, Ribery, Gomez, Martinez, etc. all of them were bought for big sums of money. they're still the FC Hollywood and Real Madrid's equivalent in German football, whether you like it or not. they're not as bad as Real obviously, but you went over the top with this comment.

QUOTE (Zed.D @ Mar 12 2013, 07:44 PM) Well, I said "right now". just when everyone thought Mou had lost the dressing room and that stuff, he united the team to turn it around and record 3 important wins over Barca and Man U and now they're the team to beat along with Bayern IMO. True, but Madrid's win against United was as lucky as they come. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) The did not outclass them like we did back in 2007, or the high-intensity match where the real Ronaldo scored a hatrick at Old Trafford. QUOTE (Zed.D @ Mar 12 2013, 07:44 PM) I forgot about Bayern. Bayern? they'll probably end up being the CL losers they've been for a while. they could win also. we'll see. Quite agreed, but you never know. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Even a CL loser twice makes a team better than most other clubs in Europe. A win separates them and gets them all the plaudits, but a final appearance also works wonder. Not for fans maybe, but I know how much Berlusconi and Galliani would love to make it to the final this year. QUOTE (Zed.D @ Mar 12 2013, 07:44 PM) Really? it's not like Bayern are Barcelona themselves. Oh no, I quite agree. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Anyone that follows the German league (or at least Bayern) knows that this is just how they roll. You put it best, they are the Real Madrid of Germany. And no I don't like it, but I can live with it. But the thing is that even with all their splashing and dashing, they still work on creating a highly efficient team. This is not the case with the showboats (Madrid and to a lesser extent Barcelona). Granted the overall style of the Spanish La Liga don't help, but that's just how it is. I am sure you have watched them in detail over these past few years, but watch them again in the quarters and semis and see just how efficient they are. QUOTE (Fillipo Simone @ Mar 12 2013, 07:45 PM) +1 Sweet. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sleepysmiley03.gif) Not many people appreciate Bayern Munich, they are always in and around the top elite of European football clubs. Always a dark horse in the CL and usually start with an equal 50-50 chance, no matter who the opponent. Thing about Bayern is that, like us, they have a history. And you know how much a European history counts and plays on the opposition. Just ask Manchester City!

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Mar 12 2013, 04:48 PM) 8 different newspapers have 6 different Barça line-ups. It's all a mystery. Like kurt said a couple of days ago, Barca don't really play with a formation so it doesn't really matter what shape they start out with or who is chosen to make up the 11 for that formation, the fundemantals of how they play football will remain the same, we just have to concentrate on our performance and nothing else
