Saying they're "good" players is overrating them now?
And actually haven't we just finished an entire discussion based on how Ibra made them look better than they are? Allegri was the one actually playing Boateng in the AM position all along, something that he couldn't pull off without Ibra as this season has clearly shown us. So no, it wasn't Allegri that was smart enough to play him there, he was just lucky that it worked out becase of Ibra.
I don't think it's fair to say he was lucky. Boateng had mostly been box-to-box or a wide player in his career (well, in England/national team) and he played him in what you could say is out of position and he did well. Was it luck? Who knows, but fact is Allegri put him there. Without Ibra he's not as good, I agree. Which is why he's changed. He's played him wide where he had played for Portsmouth (admittedly further up the pitch than he used to play) and in the midfield 3 a few times. At least he's changing it to try and make it work - which it mostly has been of late.
In an ideal World I want Milan to play like Napoli and win like United, but you can't have everything. Results come first, then performances. Yeah it is awful when we lose, but as long as we're winning more often than not, which we are now, I'm fine with that.
As I said in the other thread though, we've been over and over this a million times. It's the same debate every week. (IMG:
