Ronaldo is set to leave Real Madrid and admits that he could join either Milan or Inter by the end of this week.

“I honestly don’t know what jersey I will wear next year, football players are always the last to know what is happening,” said Ronaldo in Monaco, where he was awarded the 2006 Golden Foot.

“I do not know what my destiny will be and in any case I could not confirm anything before details are finalised,” added the Seleçao international, confirming reports from Spanish radio Cadena Ser.

“Inter have made it clear that they are interested in me and it’s always nice for me to think back to the time I spent there.

“I have been speaking to Massimo Moratti very often, but at the time being I cannot promise him that I will not go to Milan.

“In any case, I am very proud of the fact that two sides from the same city are both keen on signing me.”

Milan allegedly gave up their attempt to net Ronaldo last week, after no compromise could be reached with Real Madrid regarding a fee.

President Ramon Calderon insisted that Milan midfielder Kaka be included in the deal, but the Rossoneri have long since stated that the player is not on sale.

Inter instead could propose a swap deal involving Adriano, but Calderon has apparently asked for an additional £7m.

There are only two days left before the summer transfer window closes and firm offers could be discussed as soon as Wednesday.

hmm..... sounds like milan are still thinkin of him.....

Oh well it would'nt be soo bad we have bought wish wash stars in the past. Anyone remember Rivaldo? Although we went on to win the CL that year.. I think Ronaldo would make a great addition to Milan's hall of shame.

Brazilian striker Ronaldo has refused to rule out a return to Italy, despite the breakdown in negotiations between Real Madrid and Milan.

The World Cup great moved to La Liga from Internazionale at the start of the 2002/03 season, but has been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu in recent weeks.

In spite of his Nerazzurri past, and interest in his future from club supremo Massimo Moratti, the Rossoneri emerged as a clear front-runner in the chase for his signature.

With the transfer deadline fast approaching on Thursday, Ronaldo has stoked the flames of speculation surrounding a return to Milan.

"I have a contract with Real Madrid, but I can't decide alone," he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Anyway, I'm proud to know that two of the world's strongest sides, both from the same city, would like to sign me. In Madrid you live in a good way, but in Milan too.

"With Inter I lived a really beautiful story. The interest of Nerazzurri is serious, but no I can't tell Moratti I will never go to Milan."

At the tender age of 29, the prolific hit-man has once again reiterated his desire to continue to represent his country at international level.

"My family want me to stop playing for Selecao, but I would like to continue," he insisted.

"The new coach will decide, my friend Dunga. I won't be under pressure. In my career I've never asked for favours."

Well I don't know .. Ronaldo, if this was a week ago, I would say okay, but not with only 2 days to go .. Unacceptable, Ronaldo as much as he had a glorious past .. He wont become what he was, even if Italy was the factor that could change him.

We'll see in two days what happens with this.....

Madrid has an overabudence of forwards. I don't see Capello really using Ronaldo or Robinho. He will play with the team as if its an Italian defensive unit. 2 defensive midfielders with Emerson and Diarra.

Knowing this if I was Robinho or Ronaldo I would want to leave there because they're more suited for an attacking style of football that you would find with Milan.

But who knows whats true or media speculation at this point.

It could make sense that they are trying to make it into a surprise till the very end. I'd be happy with both Oliveira and Ronaldo.
