Ronaldinho Misses Celta Clash

Ronaldinho has been ruled out Barcelona's Primera Liga opener with Celta Vigo on Monday.

The Brazilian superstar is struggling with a thigh injury he picked up in Friday's Uefa Super Cup defeat to Sevilla.

Barca coach Frank Rijkaard has decided not to risk Ronaldinho for the game with Celta.

"Ronaldinho suffered a blow and he has to be given time to recover," said Rijkaard.

Rijkaard also confirmed that Mark van Bommel was poised to leave Camp Nou for Bayern Munich.

The German giants have agreed a deal with Barca for the Dutch international as they seek a replacement for Michael Ballack.

Rijkaard is willing to let van Bommel leave as he cannot be guaranteed regular first team action.

"Van Bommel has got a winning mentality and he wanted to find a team where he would have more of a chance to play," added Rijkaard.

"The two of us had a frank discussion and we decided that it was best if he looked for another team. I wish him the best of luck."

Food for thought anyone ?! Seems kind of vague, but didn't Sheva get injured b4 his last match with us .. ?!

I just want to know if it had anything to do with the transfer the rumors of his transfer to Milan, I'm just curious to know ..

Suspicious how Rijkaard didn't give one hint of anything since his former employer 'Berlusconi' made public his desire to bring Ronaldinho .. Even Laporta was silent about this ..

From what Rossoneri7 posted in another thread (that skysports article) R10's brother seems to indicate that R10 will be coming to Milan at some point and he also indicate that he was a Milan fan when growing up

What about Yao Ming as our new box striker? (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) He is only 26. Too bad we need other kind of strikers (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

and if crouch can styart in the world cup im sure B8 will be great for headers, we will just use the english strategy>>>>cross from any angle and spot possible and hope the tall guy gets one in.
