QUOTE (X-Offender @ May 16 2012, 03:35 PM) Various reports (TMW, Mediaset) suggest that we'll try to convert Emanuelson as a LB. Allegri will work on his defensive skills during the summer preparation. I personally like that option, he's got a hell of a cross on him, and if we're playing Mesbah at LB, than surely Urby is a better option on any given day.

We should get rid of Mesbah as soon as possible. I think Taiwo is better.

QUOTE (Zed.D @ May 16 2012, 06:23 PM) Mesbah needs to GTFO immediately. I'm sure he's a good person, but he's a poor, poor footballer. not even good enough to be our 3rd choice LB.
Urby, De Sciglio, Antonini.
Not great but should do the trick for now. Well, De Sciglio is actually a RB. He's gonna be Abate's sub, and I'm more than fine with that. Yes, Allegri played him as LB in the derby, but it was an emergency call, seeing how Antonini, Zambrotta, Mesbah and Emanuelson were not available, and Bonera got injured during the game. As for Urby, we've never really given him the chance to play as LB from the start for a few consecutive games. But I really like the idea of him playing there, especially if he can improve his defensive phase during the summer prep.

Yeah, let's prepare him with the special defensive work during summer, just like we did with Taiwo (IMG: style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) They all suck. We need a normal LB who can put a few decent performances. I don't care who, just bring someone decent and get rid of Mesbah. Not sure we should keep Taiwo as well.

If QPR decide to keep Taiwo on a permanent basis, how much are they willing spend for him? If we manage to get €7-8 million from them, we could add an extra €2-3 million and sign a proper, quality LB. Balzaretti, Armero and Cissokho should be available for around that price.

Oops, forgot he was a RB. I think that's because I have this mental image of him playing damn well in the derby in the left side. and he played his best game there though he didn't attack much. but given that he's right footed it's better to work on him as a RB. We all like that. as long as he doesn't play as an AM anymore (IMG: style_emoticons/default/innocent.gif)

I'm sick of this 4-3-1-2 crap. Enough of it. Play both Abate and De Sci....on the right.
Next season I want us to develop wingplay. Most other teams in Europe have at least heard of it.

4-4-2 ,4-4-1-1, 4-2-4, 4-3-2-1...there are plenty of options.
We need flexibility. It has been Juve's biggest difference maker. Also meant they could rest players which may have helped their injury situation as well.

Flexibility, yes, but only in case of emergency. We shouldn't stray away from the 4-3-1-2, we have the right players for it. However, when the situations calls for it, we could also play 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3. There have been plenty of occasions this season when I complained about Allegri's inability to switch formation. His obsession of playing Emanuelson as AM when Boateng was injured, for example. Why not play 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 for Christ's sake!

Exactly. One of the reasons we perform better in the second half at times is precisely because every opponent and their grandmother knows how we start and will stay during a match.
