Both clubs named Olimpique, that's what made you think it was Lyon.

QUOTE (acid911 @ Mar 20 2012, 08:50 PM) Nope. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif) I'm right behind you! When a chap like Messi wins the Golden Ball three times in quick succession (while FIFA conveniently overlooking a lot of other players), when there is unlimited oil money involved, the quality of the game goes drastically down by the year, and when LOBOs (low-class-bounty-hunters) run amock, then what can you say?! Instead, I think not giving Messi the Golden Ball these years would have been a scandal. Sure, maybe they overlooked Sneijder and Iniesta last year given their achievements, but still the best player in the world won it nevertheless. Messi is at the very top, everyone else can only follow him. And I don't even like the guy that much.

While I'd have agreed with you any other Wednesday, but the fact remains that it's unjust on other players. Xavi, CRON, Forlan maybe and Milito for sure deserved it more than Messi did. And don't forget the perfect, perfect shoe-in for the Golden Ball, Wesley Sneijder. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) He did more in one season that Messi in three. Arguably. Individually speaking, that is. A club treble, plus carried his team to the World Cup final, and almost won it.
