I think the only thing that deserted him is the one thing that made him Pippo, his finishing. Without it he has nothing as that was his biggest asset. Well this is rather expected .. Was I Inzaghi, I would do a Tevez on Allegri.
Not only is he one of my all-time favorites, I love this player to no ends. Sure he is 38, he has nothing more to add to an already bolstered front-line, but he is Super Pippo. The one we, Milan Fans, look too when the going got tough. He produced magic in that 18-yard box and no one can compare to his predatory instincts. Allegri has done wrong, Ronaldinho I don't really care about ... But Inzaghi is a different matter all together. I go to Milan games, where Pippo doesn't even make the bench and the Curva almost always chant his name, I look at the by-line to see if he is warming up .. But no, it is out of affection for this champion which Allegri chooses to disgrace by sending in for a measly 1.5mins. It surely is hard-times for this champion of ours, a player who I hold fond memories of. A player who made Champions League taste differently for me. I awaited his return from injury, I chocked on the fact Allegri excluded him from his most preferred competition eluding myself that the likes of Maxi Lopez were better suited ... But 1.5 mins and in extra time? There is no justification and I doubt Allegri could give a ****. |

Pippo is too classy to 'pull a Tevez', besides even if he wanted to he couldn't.
He just loves Milan and the fans too much, and at the end of the day he just wants to get on that field and play some damn football. You can see every time in which he is given these 'spare change' of minutes that all he wants to do is score and celebrate one more time for us. I have no problem with Allegri choosing not to play Pippo given that he is past his best years, and we have others to play the part now.
