Milan could turn to Udinese striker Vincenzo Iaquinta as their search for an Andriy Shevchenko replacement continues.

The Serie A kick-off is less than a month away and the Rossoneri have not yet found an alternative for the Ukrainian following his departure to Chelsea in May.

Iaquinta is highly considered by Coach Carlo Ancelotti and could land in Milan for something around £10.7m.

The former Pescara player is being eyed given the problems that the Italian giants are encountering on the transfer market.

The chances of seeing Ronaldinho arrive are thinning out day after day as the Brazilian seems set to extend his contract with Barcelona.

The Via Turati club are also still considering the options represented by Ronaldo and Fernando Torres, but neither of the two seem close to finalising a San Siro switch.

Ronaldo’s return to Italy seems more complicated after Real Madrid President Ramon Calderon said that the player wishes to stay in Spain.

The Fenomeno, who is not Ancelotti’s first choice, is scheduled to meet Real Madrid boss Fabio Capello in the next few days to clarify his position with the Merengues.

While Torres is considered as untransferable by Atletico Madrid and if he were to be sold, the club’s asking price of £28.5m for El Niño is deemed as excessive.

Iaquinta, now a world champion following Germany 2006, would represent an excellent alternative with Milan youngster Marco Borriello set to be included in any possible deal.

The 25-year-old Iaquinta has spent six seasons in Udine where he has netted 44 goals in 145 Serie A matches.

I could not agree more in that statement! I'd rather play George Weah Junior infront than Iaquinta. He only got attention because of his 3 goals for Udinese in the first CL game last year. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

My god this is getting worse day by day...I have some bad memories considering the Milan - Udinese relation. I would only accept a free switch - Iquinta for Amoroso. But really...so much bad memories (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

So now the news are talking about Iaquinta .. The papers sure are taking advantage of our nerves; it seems to me that we are the only club that the papers are talking about lately when considering the transfer market. How many players have been linked ?! I wish Berlusconi could just end all speculation and bring in who he has in mind, cz this is getting rediculous

I find this very concerning. Iaquinta is well below the required standard, his goal scoring ratio shows that and his last season was disastrous. I tore my hair out every time Lippi broguht him on as the substitute striker rather than Pippo, who would have been far better.

Its an absurd idea and hope its rubbish.

Feel exactly the same...but, I think its just rumour, nothing more...With all respect, I belive there is still some reason and responsability in our board (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

From Sheva to Iaquinta :S.
I think Milan is becoming a club like Man Utd, every world-class player rejects them. (Man U lost Ronaldinho to Barca even if they had him in their hands) and Milan also lost Crespo, Ibra, and even Ronaldo refused to come, and the worst of the worst NOW they are looking for a failed-striker.
Please MILAN bring Torres or Tevez !!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, as said earlier, we are becoming Newcastle or Tottenham, a big team which never wins. What a shame!
Tevez would be a golden addition! Unbelieveably important that we make a big signing!

Overreacting...please calm down. Ibra, even Crespo and especially Ronaldo are not in their best days also. And Ronaldinho decided to go to Barca, just because Spain has a better nightlife. I sead this many times, and I am still behind it - if we are scouting around to find a new striker talent, it takes time. I don`t wont this overnight instant transfers that cannot make a permanent impact.

You're right, but we've had plenty of time, we didn't see Sheva's move coming, but we knew that Amo wasn't good enough and Pippo has not many years left, so if Milan says that this attacker-problem has just arrieved, it's nonsense!
