Very important win, not easy to beat them away. Top of the table right now (IMG:style_emoticons/default/king.gif)

Our defense is the issue we gotta fixed up. We are scoring enough, but very instable defensively.

You know why? It's not settled. While Nesta and Silva is our first choice partnership, both have missed a combined total of 3 domestic matches. That's not abysmal, but when you look at full back, and particularly left back, 3 players cycle for that slot. RB is kinda the only position where one player has been solid and consistently played.

Silva and Abate are the 2 almost ever presents. The other slots see various guys like Antonini, Bonera, Mexes, Zambrotta, Taiwo, and Nesta.

Add to that Abbiati's Jekyll and Hyde season and it's not hard to see why we're conceding.

The good thing, like you say, is we're scoring. We have riches up front and players that good will get you goals.

All we need now is for Inter to beat Juve and that would be a very good night's work.

I can't find it in me to support inter.

Regardless the game's result, I can see myself finding reasons to be both happy and upset. Oh well...

@ Danny yes, we're still winning, and I agree with almost everything, but the problems in defence are very worrying for me, and yes we're scoring a lot, but sometimes, no matter how great the guys upfront are, you still can't get a break through. That's why it's so important to keep a clean sheet, or if you're going to conceed, at least keep it to just one goal. Last season we won the league by doing this. Sometimes we scored a lot, sometimes we managed to get by with a single goal and still got 3 points because we didn't conceed. We aren't going to score 3 or 4 goals in every game.

There's still time to fix this, last season we had similar problems during the first half of the season, we were conceeding a lot through counter attacks and we managed to eliminate that from our game. Our defence was near perfect last season from January onwards. A big part of that was the stability of the back 4 plus the shield VB made in front of them, and this season VB, Thiago and Nesta have simply not been at their best while we have issues with the LB.

Like I said, we still have time to fix it. Next internation break Allegri really needs to focus on defensive drills, defending on set-pieces and make the players understand that lapses in concentration won't be tolerated.

Oh and I'm totally with Inter tonight. We can close Saturday at the top of the table if Inter win.

It doesn't matter how much work you do on set pieces, and understanding, and coherent man marking etc, if you don't have a settled defence it makes no difference. The bedrock of any team is its defence (unless you're Barca of course) and success is based on having a settled back 4 who are completely familiar with each other.

Until Allegri settles on a back 4 and persists with the same players (bar injury of course) we'll keep conceding goals. But it really isn't worrying me given how many we're scoring at the other end. No reason to believe the goals will dry up any time soon. Plus we've got a fresh Pato ready to return and he'll be gagging for goals when he's fit.

No panic just yet for me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I would have been happy with that as it mean't they could go into the bottom three (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Here's hoping (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

We're not playing very well right now, but we're in a good moment nevertheless. That's four wins in a row in the league by scoring 3-4 goals every game. Defense needs some work. Zambrotta and Van Bommel were both awful tonight. We need to sign replacements as soon as possible. That would be half a problem if Taiwo got his head out of his butt and started playing like his old self. As for the holding midfielder role, getting back Strasser and signing someone like De Rossi, Casemiro etc. would be the ideal solution.

Anyway, FORZA MILAN!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/king.gif)

Great result... As allegri says ''we can now focus on BATE''

Its a nice feeling knowing we ve booked a last 16 spot on november the 1st, when the 2 legs tie in mid february. More than enough time to do well in the league and rack up points.

We won't have Boateng (red card) and Nocerino (4 yellow cards) in our next league game. We are playing at home vs Catania, who started the season well.

Boateng can easily be replaced with Robinho. Nocerino is the major problem, since him being out means Ambro gets the nod (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif)

Will Seedorf be back? I'd be tempted to play Seedorf on the left, Aqui on the right if it came down to it. Certainly better then having Ambro losing the ball and lunging into people

Seedorf might return but Allegri won't play with him, Aqui and Robinho as AM in the same line up. He might start Urby though.

Add to all that, Cassano is sick and in a hospital right now and Boateng might also not play vs BATE because of the knock yesterday.
