QUOTE (RinoIlCapitano @ Jun 30 2011, 07:03 PM) Bastian Schweinsteiger!!!!! The best option for us!!! +1 --- Nasri isn't that good...+ he plays as winger. What we really need is a CM like Schweinsteiger, and a true nr 10 like Ganso.

But Ganso seems to be a January option, while Bastian Schweinsteiger is highly unlikely to come. We seem to forget that not so long ago Bayern signed a new contract extension with him. CMF is right to say he won't be cheap and Bayern isn't a light negotiator, they'd play hardball with us. So from all the Hamšik, Nasri, Fabregas, Ganso etc. rumors, I rate this one the most unlike to happen. As for Nasri, he isn't anything special, but if it comes to him or Hamšik, he'd be cheaper and eventually better also.

QUOTE (il_diavolo_mtl @ Jul 1 2011, 01:48 AM) i'd take nasri over 2 Hamsiks. People seem to be forgetting hamsik's only really charges the net and runs back to cover on defense. He isn't our next creator, not by a long shot. Lavezzi does most the creating and 90% of hamsik's goals are in box from open play. I'd LOVE to have Nasri and think he would fit in our system as the 10. That being said, i'm pretty sure we get Ganso in january for that void. Exactly. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) I never quite understood why Hamšik is being labelled as a creator and solution to our midfield problems. What we need is a pure number 10, to help us take control of the midfield and feed the trio of attackers. We don't get that, and it'll be problems all over again, if not in the league, then in the CL matches where it matters.

QUOTE (CHU-LIP @ Jun 30 2011, 11:36 PM) Nasri can easily play as AM. Schweini I don't see coming. Ganso only in January. (his main position is as winger) Better wait until January for Ganso instead of Nasri's transfer. @Fillipo Simone: I know that Schweinsteiger is unlikely to come, I just wanted to say that a midfielder like Bastian would be perfect for us. There are still lots of good midfielders available, and cheaper also. Players like Inler, Aquilani, Moussa Sissoko, Sven Bender, Vidal, Javi Martinez etc...

Hamsik is not much unlike Boateng, he's less powerful and explosive but has better technique. He's really not what we need. --- On a general note, I think we should all relax because we simply don't know what's going on... I'm sure Galliani has talked to other teams about all the players mentioned. All teams do that in order to know how thing move and how other teams evaluate their own players or the players of the team that approaches them. Some reporter learns about it and the rumor starts. Some are maybe totally fiction too. There's no reason making a fuss about the names we hear about cause we have absolutely no idea what's going on.

Agreed on both counts, dst. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) And I am sure we'll hear about the big name signing(s) in about two months time, give or take a week. Just like last season, and the one before that, and before that. Today is officially the first day of the silly season, there are a lot of paper to sell and website hits to generate. Get what I mean? The fact remains that even though we may have reached an agreement with a club or a player, Galliani (and other top guys of both clubs) deem it best to save it till the last few weeks to announce it, lest the fans of the club start rioting or have the deal fall through. Sure, it gives "Mr. X" less time to integrate with the squad, but that's how it's done. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) I really wouldn't be surprised if we signed one or two top quality players - one of them being Ganso, no less, seeing as we seem to have agreed terms with DIS, the company that owns a chunk of his shares.

In the end, it does make sense and gives Galliani space for negotiating a good price, which he often does very successfully. But, like han said a few days ago, it wouldn't hurt us to have a player of such importance as soon as possible. Remember last seasons start, with a very much clueless Allegri? Sure, the season ended up well and everything turned out for the best, but still, I'd like to avoid the initial wondering and searching for a suitable formation/selection that Allegri has put us through last season.

(IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG: style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) In a perfect world, we wouldn't need to buy world class players, instead we'd probably growing them in large pots in a greenhouse in Milano and selling them to other clubs for millions and millions. But hey, it's not a perfect world. I won't have trouble waiting, as long as a big name arrives. Even if it doesn't, we'll still be league contenders.

Yes, I know.
Mentioning home grown players, I'd be so glad if we'd finally found someone from the primaveras who can be included to the senior team and start slowly developing with Milan. Someone who can, like Maldini, Baresi, or Billy (disregard the one non-Milan season) be our one-club man. Darmain, Marzorati, Albertazzi,...all these and many more have been mentioned for years as potential Milan talents, but none of them came even close to a good season with our senior team. We're lacking of a player who could in 2-3 years take the captains band with 24-25, and wear it for a decade for Milan. Only Abate and Palo come in mind, but I'm not sure about it.

QUOTE Gael Clichy and Samir Nasri set for Manchester City Manchester City flexed their financial muscle on Thursday evening, pinching Gael Clichy from beneath the noses of Liverpool and hatching a plot to wreck Manchester United's pursuit of Samir Nasri. City have agreed a £7million, four-year deal for Arsenal left back Clichy but boss Roberto Mancini could return to the Emirates for Nasri, who has less than a year left on his contract, if he fails to net No 1 target Alexis Sanchez from Udinese. City have not given up on landing Sanchez, 22, despite suggestions to the contrary, and are optimistic that their spending power might see off Barcelona's challenge. The loss of Clichy, and potentially Nasri, is a disturbing development for the Gunners, who are also in talks with Barcelona about the proposed transfer of Cesc Fabregas, which could be worth nearly £40m. It piles more pressure on Arsene Wenger, a manager who is yet to strengthen a squad which capitulated at the end of last season, extending the club's barren spell to seven years. Ivory Coast striker Gervinho is inching closer to an £11m switch from Lille but, so far, Carl Jenkinson, a teenage defender signed from Charlton, is Wenger's only summer recruit. It is not only frustrated supporters who are watching the manager's next moves with interest. Robin van Persie and Theo Walcott are both two years from the end of their contracts and want to assess the club's ambition before they commit. With Denilson admitting to Brazilian media that he is considering offers from Villarreal and Sao Paulo, Wenger must also convince new Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke that his methods can still deliver a trophy. Under such intense scrutiny, he will fight to avoid losing Nasri to a direct rival, even if it means the midfielder runs down the final year of his deal and walks out on a free transfer. United are prepared to pay around £15m for the France midfielder, but the emergence of City could propel the final figure nearer £20m. Chelsea are also monitoring developments. Worryingly for Wenger, Sir Alex Ferguson has acted swiftly in the market, adding to his title-winning squad by investing nearly £50m in David de Gea, Phil Jones and Ashley Young. 'They are great signings,' said United defender Patrice Evra yesterday. 'I am very confident about the future. We hope to retain the title but also to win the Champions League.' One Arsenal player certainly bound for Manchester is Clichy, 25, who has resisted interest from Liverpool and abroad to agree a move to City. Ready to fill the void? Wenger has doubts over whether Gibbs is ready to replace Clichy Ready to fill the void? Wenger has doubts over whether Gibbs is the long-term solution at left-back Sportsmail understands former Arsenal favourite Thierry Henry has been advising Clichy, and urged him to remain at the Emirates, but the France defender has refused to renew a contract that runs out next summer. Wenger is interested in Everton's Leighton Baines but is reluctant to match the £15m asking price and instead plans to examine the credentials of Thomas Vermaelen in pre-season. The defender prefers to play centrally but is left-sided and played regularly at full back for Ajax. Kieran Gibbs is also at the club but Wenger has doubts that the 21-year-old is ready to be his first-choice left back. Tell me about it. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I've been rooting for a home grown "one-club man" player for ages now. Had high hopes on Paloschi, but they sent him away. Still, I know what you are trying to get here, but sadly the higher ups (management, even coaches) don't feel the same it seems. Been the case for a while now. Sure, they may not set the world on fire, but it never hurt anyone playing some youth in the last 10 minutes every match. As I like to believe, a coach should try to utilize three subs at 45, 60 and 80 minutes each match (rare cases, tough scenarios, and untimely injuries are excused). Take out the worst performer in the first half at 45. Slot in a pair of fresh legs at 60. And give a young player the last 10 minutes each and every time wherever possible. But hey, who's listening?! (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) Maybe we'll have our homegrown player in the next guy who wears the number 3.
