Agreed. I can't read Italian. Did money change hands as well? If not they must really like Berretta.

We paid 7M for Boateng and 2.5M for Amelia. Berretta will be at Genoa on a co-ownership.

QUOTE (Dracoris @ May 24 2011, 06:17 PM) *
I've stated numerous times that I like Pirlo and I'm sad to see him leave. I'm just thinking with logic and not emotion, he's not a valuable player anymore. I think the one year extension was just and if he really loved Milan so much he would've taken it. You argue that its about stability, well whats more stable than staying in the SAME place doing the SAME thing? If he plays as well as you seem to think he's capable of, then he would have no problem earning his starting spot and another renewal. Fact is, he wasn't confident in that. Thats why he wanted 3 years and thats why he left. Our management knows what they are doing. Its the same management thats won us a huge stinking amount of titles since they've been here, I trust them.

Enjoy and be happy with what this incredible athlete gave Milan and give up this facade that he's anywhere near the level he used to be.

Has there been any word on whether he will be kept or loaned out?

Allegri wants to judge Paloschi in pre-season. In pre-season we miss players because of Copa America anyway.

Awesome. As a player all you can ask for is to be given a chance. Hopefully Palo takes advantage of it.

Galliani on Boa, Cassano, Ibra, Seedorf

Adriano Galliani confirmed Kevin-Prince Boateng, Antonio Cassano and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. “I hope to convince Clarence Seedorf to stay with Milan.”

The transfer chief was in a summit with Genoa President Enrico Preziosi today and secured a deal to buy out the remaining 50 per cent of Boateng’s contract.

“At the start we had some difficulties, but at the end found an agreement that I think is fair and right for both parties,” said the Milan Vice-President.

“Both Marco Amelia and Alberto Paloschi are also entirely owned by Milan. The latter will certainly remain, as he’ll be important over the summer when Alexandre Pato and Robinho are in the Copa America.

“I don’t think Cassano has any particular problems and his agent hasn’t said anything. Ibrahimovic will certainly stay at Milan. Every now and then Mino Raiola likes to joke around, but Ibra is going nowhere.”

Of the veterans with contracts set to expire next month, Seedorf is the least likely to put pen to paper, as he has several offers from Brazil.

“I hope to convince Seedorf to stay at Milan.”

Galliani was also asked about reports the Rossoneri are preparing a swoop for want-away Fiorentina captain Riccardo Montolivo.

“He plays in front of the defence, so in that position we already have Massimo Ambrosini and Mark Van Bommel.”

So Pato will go to Argentina? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) or is Galliani talking out of his ***?

He might but nothing is sure yet. It will depend on his healing schedule.

What Dracoris said. we won the title (very deservedly I might add) without Pirlo contributing much. we'll start the new season with the same team plus a new quality midfielder (and some other decent signings in other departments). I don't think our failure would depend on this new guy that much. our success would.

I must disagree here. We may have won this years scudetto, but I still think this team ain't near of a well-oiled winning machine that can afford to loose some potential. Why? Simply put - next year the stakes are higher - this year Allegri could have afforded himself a blamage against Tottenham with almost no repercussions. But this time Milan are going for a good CL run as well. Also, the league competition will be much harder. Inter will have time to recoup and think about new solutions, while Roma could become a more serious team, depending the transfer summer.

And I wouldn't say we've won the scudetto without Pirlo and Seedorf. That would be unfair and not objective. Pirlo won us the Parma match, and did pretty well on some occasions. Just remember how painful some of our matches were - and they were won by fluke goals or individual brilliance (mostly Ibra). I don't think it's a strategy we can rely on for long.

And you honestly think Milan minus Seedorf and Pirlo and plus let's say for the sake of argument Ganso is a equally equipped and strong team? Or even stronger? I don't think so, I really think the pressure Ganso, Lamela or any of the young names mentioned will be harder to deal then any of the other players.

All in all a great deal. Fast and very positive - looks like we've drawn the better end.

Poor Allegri, he's not able to bring his Cagliari pets to Milan. First Lazzari, now Marchetti.

You are just too cool for school.

As well as Amelia played yesterday, the extra cash for Marchetti would've been worth it, I think.
