Why does this Sheva thing keep coming up .. I respect your opinion and that of everyone else .. I also fully understand that he didnt respect his word; his promise to us fans ..

But Shevchenko had a decision to make and took it; he is Ukraian married to an American, who live in Italy .. But neither of them is Italian and therefore they, as parents, had to make a decision for their child .. That is for their child to adopt either the Ukrainian language (Russian) or/and that of the American (English) ..
Since Ukrain doesn't have a local team that could be considered a BIG team, Andriy chose Chelsea.

As a die hard Milan fan I feel betrayed that he will be our opponent (enemy) when Milan meets Chelsea .. But for the grand 7 years he gave to us, I can only show respect at least for the unforgettable moments that he gave us ..

Moreover, whenever he is asked by the journalists about Milan, he always talks with high regard about Milan and Berlusconi - how much he owed the club and the owner, in every aspect.

But why did he keep denying that he wanted to leave? even at his first press conference he asked for time to make his decision but said he wasn't definitely going. Part of the reason he speaks so highly of Milan is because they let him go so easily, we should have put him on the market for anyone to bid on. He also said that his wife and son spoke English but he didn't - yet there are seven English teaching schools in Milan, in fact I read that Lippi is learning English at one. He might have given us seven good years but, IMO anyway, he left as a disgraceful traitor.

sheva is a footballer thats his job, if you in your everyday job have a decision to make stay were you are and make your family unhappy or change jobs to improve your home life the decision would be easy if you loved your wife and children! i know everybody will say that he said this or that but we don't know at which point mrs. shevchenko made her feelings felt. so thats remember he has a job choose to work for another company,BIG DEAL!! all i can say is better to have sheva for 7 years than not at all

yes there are english schools in milan but the decision was which of the parents mother languages would the children be brought up talking. so even if they learnt english it would not be thier first lang that they had to speak everyday! that was there point. so move to england then the lang they are speaking is the first lang they speak easy see!!

well if they stayed in italy the child would learn italian naturally, plus english naturally from the mother and in milanese schools they teach english. plus he could have some russian from his daddy

You're not alone on that portugal.

I live in Malta our first language is Maltese, but some parents choose to start talking to their children when they are young in English, and they regard English as their first language. They could have done that, the only one that needed to learn English in my oppinion was Sheva, I'm not sure if any school in Milan that teaches English sees to all his majesties requirments but I'm pretty sure he didn't need to move to England to learn English.

For god sakes how much did he earn per week he could have hired a personal tutor to teach him English at home if he didn't have the time I'm sure he could have afforded that.

The English excuse is just pure bull sh!t that he fed us so as not to make his fans see that he was greedy for the money or whatever the hell Roman offered him if he went to chelsea and agreed to play with his other collectables

I think he may have left for political reason. I read somewhere before that Sheva wants to become some kind of politican in the future in Ukraine and Abramovich promised him that he would support him financialy if he would come to Chelsea... or something like that.

In regards to the whole sheva "lieing" to us thing.....I wouldnt be surprised if all the statements that sheva made about "staying in milan" and about "moving to chelsea is just rumors" were things that Milan management told him to say. They told him to say all those things. Who knows why, maybe to make Chelsea willing to pay more for him. If he said he wanted to go to chelsea from the start....they probably wouldnt have got 30 mil pounds for him. You know what I'm saying?


And as for his decision to leave...all great players have ambitions too. They want to see if they can be great somewhere else. They want to see how much they can accomplish in the short career of a footballer.

And for everyone that is disrespecting Mrs. shevchenko, if you had a family, (i.e. Wife& kid) you would have to consider their feelings too. because anyone who puts their job before their family is not a "Man". To do something like that would make you a coward. And im willing to bet most of you guys on this forum do not have wife and kids. so you cannot even understand how difficult a decision this must have been for sheva. After everything that sheva has done for milan, you are all just disrespectful. Sheva doesn't disrespect milan, he speaks very highly of milan and the fans. That makes him a real "man" in my book. Above the all the rest. FORZA SHEVA!! Please, try to show the same respect in return.
