You forget that Pippo has the best off-the-ball movement in the universe. Which is why Ibra loves him. Pato not so much....

Pato playing outside the box in a stationary role...not happening. To have Ibra as a support striker would probably push his goal threat down. Currently Ibra stands at 13 goals with 8 assists. He's inhuman right now. Pato needs to change his playing style a little. Add a little more graft...and more intelligent movement. He cannot depend on having space all the time.

I think Pato and Ibra can play together...but some changes are required. They would need to constantly rotate their positions between SS and Primo punta...depending on the game situation. For that they need to play together a lot. For that the duck needs to be fit. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

But to bring the duck on, you have to bench either Robinho or Cassano. Which begs the question what have they done wrong.

Generally speaking, Pato and Ibra would be the best striking duo in the world. One is agile and a great dribbler, the other is potent and a great assist man. And they're both great finishers. But like han said, this partnership is not clicking because Pato is being misused, either by Allegri or by his own will. He should play less on the wings and more inside the box, where he's deadly.

Ibra is not a target man, he never was and never will be. Of course, due to his universal characteristics, he's capable of playing any role up front, but it'd be a shame to restrict all his talent by playing as a pure striker. He knows this, and he's been constantly playing as second striker since his arrival, with lots of assits and tracking back. He's been doing his job perfectly, and I have nothing to say to him about that.

Exactly. Pato is just not the same. That dribbling of his seems to have disappeared. And there seems no improvement in his passing.

It's important that he works hard. Let's not forget that he was our spearhead last season and the season before out of necessity.

Boriello was our spearhead last season, Pato was played as a winger. It worked because Dinho usually provided him that long diagonal ball from the left that Pato could catch his marker out and run onto from his wide position, he only played as a real striker under Carlo in the xmas tree, any other time he's been placed out of position, simple

Borriello was no spearhead, he was our Heskey. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Hmm..now that's a thought. Sell Pato to Chelsea for Anelka+ 30 million. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

“It will be a special game. I am happy to be a part of Milan history and I am happy to be here where my life is perfect,” said the 21-year-old during a special interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport. “Spending my whole career here? Why not?”

Talk is cheap.

It doesn't mean anything much true. Most footballers say that, "I'll love to close out my career here.." of course there is a T&C apply. Namely they keep getting fat paychecks, getting to play a lot and getting to win a lot.

Nothing to get too worked up or down about. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

It just means he is happy at present. FWIW I hope he stays. A little more patience and he can something pretty awesome.

I actually think that's the perfect answer. Indeed, why not? Footballers don't care, we care... there is a chance he will stay here till the end... why not?

He'll stay so long as we do well. I'm sure I'm in the minority, but his attitude stinks, I find him to be a stroppy little kid at times. Fortunately we're winning and doing well right now so he'll likely want to stay. SO long as we keep that up he's ours.

I don't think you can say his attitude stinks just like that, without bringing a valid reason for it. now what is it? what makes you say it?

Come on, I know you're his biggest fan on here and all, but how can you not see how petulant he is? When things don't go his way he gets in such a mood in the field. There's been a few ocassions in the past couple of seasons where things haven't gone his way so he's kicked out at a defender.

To be honest I don't see any relation between these posts! his attitude on the pitch is certainly not the best, but what's that got anything to do with him saying "why not see out my career at Milan"?

For the record, I think he will stay as long as we don't sell him. in other words I can't see him doing a Sheva...

Huh?

*In post 1 I mention his attitude stinks.
*You ask why I think he has a bad attitude.
*In post 2 I explain why I think he has a bad attitude.

Basically, Pato is someone who's only happy when things are going well, on or off the pitch. When he's doing well he seems fine. When things aren't going well he's like a little girl. I imagine that's the way he is off the field too. Didn't he already consider leaving 18 months or so ago?

My +1 was for dst's post. I hate kurt...even when he's right. Kurt is a little girl. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I don't think he'll stay as long as we don't sell him. Another year of playing as much as he has next season and I think he'll put in a transfer request.

I worry a bit that the two years when we was our number 1 striker might have elevated his ego more than his skills. I hope to God I'm wrong.
