QUOTE (Zed.D @ Nov 12 2010, 09:21 PM) The majority of what exactly? those staggering 10 games he's played? (IMG: style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Tell me, how many big games has he played this season? (I'm actually asking you. I don't exactly remember) So he isn't allowed to lose form sometimes? I mean, he's had a bad 10-game season so far (in which he's still managed to score 6 goals and help us win friggin points) and you're talking about losing faith in him and selling him. You don't even know what you're arguing about. one minute you're complaining about his injury problems. the other about his performances. OK pal, I don't know what I'm talking about. If you're happy with Pato's performances so far, then you simply have different expectations from what I had when we signed him three years ago. By now, I thought he'd be the next big thing, winning games single-handedly and being a protagonist against big sides. I thought he'd become better than Messi, I truly did, because the potential I saw in him was incredible, so sorry if what he's achieved so far doesn't impress me, at all.

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Nov 12 2010, 09:11 PM) In the long run? Oh, I have no doubts. But I'm pretty sure in the next 2-3 years we'll be reliving the same story again and again. So you'd be willing to give one of the world's best young talents to Real or Chelsea because he's suffering from constant injuries now that will most likely as you say won't trouble him so much in 2 to 3 years times. So we lose Pato while Madrid get him now for probably half of what he'll be worth in the future and he gives them his best peak years. While we lose him because we can't be patient. Pato hasn't even hit his peak years, which would probably go from 24 to 28, injuries aside, when it comes down to it, he delivers the numbers every season. So I'll choose to be patient and let his body work things out on its own. He's still basically a kid jumping down his throat won't help anyone. What really irks me about you saying that you lost faith in him, is that just yesterday you said you had blind faith in Robinho, someone who hasn't given any Milan fan any incentive to truly believe in him

What really irks me about you saying that you lost faith in him, is that just yesterday you said you had blind faith in Robinho, someone who hasn't given any Milan fan any incentive to truly believe in him You're thinking too much ahead of time. It's true, Pato represents the future, but also the present. It's not like he's 18 anymore. But if we still wanna count on him as a young and promising prospect, like Inter are doing with Coutinho, then I'm fine with it. I just thought that by now, Pato would be a world class striker demolishing defenses like very few in the world. Perhaps I overrated him, my bad. QUOTE (Zed.D @ Nov 12 2010, 10:12 PM) When you said It's not like he was doing any good when he was playing either.
Which is what caused this argument to begin. And I think I said that for a player of Pato's calibre, scoring 5-6 goals against low-table teams should never be good enough. I'm not questioning the value of the goals, please, but Pato's overral performance so far (including goals, assists, plays, game impact, everything), which hasn't been impressive, at all. On the contrary, it's been a massive let down. At least for me. But like I said, maybe I overrated him.

Coutinho is younger and imo at that age Pato showed a lot more promise. Also 21 might not be as young as 18 but in football terms, especially in Italy, pato is still a baby, and let's not forget that when he came over he was still considered as the unknown kid, now defenders mark him tighter, usually he's trying to go past 2 or 3 players on the wing. I expect big things from Pato just as much as you do, and I'm disappointed that we're once again losing him for such a long period of time, but I'm prepared to be patient, even more so this season since we have enough depth to cover for him

QUOTE (Zed.D @ Nov 12 2010, 10:33 PM) Yes it's not good enough, but it's not "no good" either. When I said "no good", I meant this season, which, let's face it, between injuries and poor performances, has been a let down so far. Those six goals don't change much, at least from my point of view. In general though, Pato has done important things, but I believe we can all agree that it's not good enough.

Just have that in mind when someone jumps on Seedorf, Ambrosini or Pippo next time. Anyway, I still wait for a big Champions League match for Pato.

QUOTE (CHU-LIP @ Nov 13 2010, 02:55 AM) Are you serious? Forgot the Real match? (previous season) Oh of course, the referee cancelled the goal for no reason. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Group stage games are friendlies. The true champion shows himself when business gets real, and that for Pato translates into the Arsenal games, ManU last season and all the derbies he's played so far. I didn't say this, by the way, but some Italian journalist who always bashes Pato, and whom I hated for it. But now I can see some truth in his words. At least, until the blessed day comes and Pato proves us all wrong.
