I'm all for 4-5-1, even though deep down inside I know that it's not the formation that wins matches, but the drive and commitment of the players themselves. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Sadly, more than half the team lacks that, their performance this last month or so has nowhere been relative to their talents or experience. And yes, I do believe a draw here is the end of the world. We have to win all four matches against both Ajax and Auxerre, and either give Real a run for their money by scoring more goals, or getting 4 points off of them like last season, meaning a win and a draw. We won last season in Madrid, drew in Milan, gave Real 1 point, took 4 out of 6 ourselves, but still finished second in the group. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) What does that tell you? And where did that lead us? MU of all clubs. If you want a ditto repeat of last season, be my guest. I still stand by my motto: First or bust!

Somewhat agreed, but I think the ball is in Real Madrid squad's court, rather than Jose. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I see more than one chunks in Real's armor and it remains to be seen whether Mourinho has stamped his authority on the team in these couple of months. If Jose had been managing that team for two years, bought his preferred players, then yes, you had a very solid point. But the way Levante kept them at bay for a 0-0 draw, and their overall form up till now, we are "Sonny With A Chance". (IMG: http://i56.tinypic.com/14y7uo0.jpg) Point being, the first place is there for the taking if our team has an ounce of brain and an inch of motivation.

QUOTE (CHU-LIP @ Sep 27 2010, 09:26 PM) How do you know? Maybe it's Boateng who needs the rest more than Gattuso... Quantity? (IMG: style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Who's talking about quantity? I prefer a good preformance over a good status. You prefer someone running around like a headless chicken for 90 minutes just because he puts in "effort" over someone who might not run that much but still produces a match winning moment. That is prefering quantity over quality, and let's not talk about Seedorf because he comes from the same mold as Dinho. Terrible and lazy on most days then produces something magical when you're so fed up with him you wish he would just light up on fire. Also I 100% agree with acid on this one. As for Your Rino comment which I didn't quote, I know because he was literally about to keel over and die against Genoa. That's why Allegri pulled him out when he did. Boateng is younger and in better physical shape then Rino, he's used to the heavy schedule coming from the EPL as well

QUOTE (acid911 @ Sep 28 2010, 05:15 PM) Han's the man! (IMG: style_emoticons/default/king.gif) Totally agree with what he's on here. It was our love-fest with these old has been that brought us down to where we are now. A wise man once said: "Managing a club is like making mayonnaise. You have to add in the oil to the eggs very slowly. Blend in to create the perfect mixture". Same with mixing old and experienced players with the new, young and motivated ones. You overdo one thing, you end up with Milan. Or Arsenal. Both my favorite clubs, both in an inedible mess. We don't have to discard the old guard completely, just have them share their duties with the young-middle-aged ones. PS. That wise man above was me, in case you were wondering. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) I know how to make the perfect mayonnaise! Mmmmmmm Mayo

QUOTE (Jack Bauer @ Sep 28 2010, 07:20 PM) I wanted KPB instead of Rino, but I can live with that. I'm with you, my guess is we'll see them switch at HT. Rino can't handle more then that
